     " i guess it takes someone to look past my defences, to tear down my walls and push me to be a better version of myself. but also someone who sees my flaws and doesn't think less of me for them ? makes me realize that it's okay to have those imperfections. i am still good enough, even with those things. they don't make me less of a person. i never thought just being myself would be enough but they showed me that it was. they see me at some of my lowest points and still care for me and want to be by my side. i always kind of felt like something was missing and they filled that hole in my heart. i trust easily, but falling in love... that was new for me. “  probably  ,  i  guess  everyone  needed  to  refuel  ,  ”  she  jokes  ,  a  small  smile  on  her  lips  as  she  glances  around  .  “  do  you  think  if  i  pretend  to  faint  then  we  could  get  to  the  fast  quicker  ?  start  yelling  that  i  have  a  rare  condition  that  demands  caffeine  .  ”

                    he can’t help but let out a laugh and shrug at her suggestions. “ you could do that but i’m a terrible actor. i’d give us away in like less than thirty seconds. ” it’s a sigh that leaves his lips as he tries to see the front once more. “ i wonder if people could be bribed though. i’ll give them five dollars to let me be ahead of them in line. ”

            jae  was  trying  (  and  failing  )  to  distract  himself  from  the  long  line  by  playing  a  game  on  his  phone.  ‘  we’re  probably  not  the  only  tourists  in  town.  ’  he  peeks  around  the  line,  sighing  heavily  when  he    notices  that  they’ve  barely  moved  an  inch.  ‘  maybe  we  should  find  another  place  ?  ’

                    if he just kept telling himself the wait would be worth it, maybe he’d develop some patience. though, it wasn’t really working. the coffee had to be good to warrant the line, but his headache from lack of caffeine made him want to agree to jae’s suggestion. “ if we leave and the next place has a line like this i’ll be very annoyed. but -- maybe we should. maybe we can find a hidden gem or something. the best coffee in town. ” he takes out his phone to do a google search. “ if this place comes up... ” he prays it doesn’t.

James hummed in thought at the teasing question, he hadn’t really thought about such outcome, he was 100% convinced he’d only have eyes for a blue and yellow one, but well… you never know. “In that case… we’d have to deliberate and see what’s best for the family”, James replied with a tone as teasing, playfully scrunching their nose at their boyfriend. Their eyes lit up at the mention of the other Disney characters, especially the latter. “You cannot use Pudge against me! You know… I wouldn’t mind a Pudge, in fact: I’d love one. But we need to be firm and keep up with The Little Mermaid theme, though one day we could have a big tank and honor all the Disney fishes”, James mused with excitement, envisioning the idea and getting hyped over it. Now besides a big garden, they’ve added a home aquarium to their list of future plans with the other. Plans they really hoped they’d follow through someday. It made them feel butterflies flying all around their stomach. James happily followed Micah’s lead, curious and excited eyes wandering all around as they listened to his questions. “They definitely have personalities! I think we should wait to choose one to see what fits them”, they explained with a small nod, then giggled at Micah’s playful suggestion. “We’ll see… wouldn’t that be too much responsibility?”, they teased before placing a kiss on their boyfriend’s cheek. “Or maybe… we could get them a sibling next port”, they wondered out loud, the possibilities were endless and running around James’ mind to the speed of light.

                    micah was beyond happy, his eyes darting all around the space. he couldn’t believe they were really here, adopting a pet together. they were turning something they’d talked about into reality. sure, a fish was small but it still felt like quite a big thing. “ family. ” he repeated giddy. he couldn’t even describe the joy that he felt hearing those words and doing this with his boyfriend. he was going to have his own little family. “ i didn’t use pudge against you ! i was just saying it could happen. what if we fall in love with another fish ? you can’t deny love at first sight. we have to leave here with no regrets. which means, we need to take home the fish that captures our hearts even if it’s not a flounder -- because who knows we might never be back here in seattle ever again. ” he mused. though, his heart skipped a beat at more talk of thee future and creating a disney themed fish tank one day. micah loved the idea so much that he couldn’t help but turn and press a kiss to james’ lips. he also loved that he just got to do that now, he didn’t have to overthink or worry about who might be watching. he could kiss them just because he felt like it. “ but alright, to the tropical fish then to try and find our flounder. ” he pointed them in the direction they needed to go and averted his eyes from another creature that might try and capture his heart. he wouldn’t be able to hold out if he looked to closely at the others. “ how much responsibility could a fish really be ? we just have to remember to feed them. easy. but fine, fine... be the mature adult. we can start with one for now. ” he pretended to pout. “ a fish at every port like a souvenir. ”

Jude knew two things about Seattle: it was wonderfully, beautifully weird and it rained nonstop. “Shit!” Laughing, Jude held out his hands and looked up at the sky. He was soaked already but he couldn’t have cared less. He loved the rain. “We’ve got two options here: find cover somewhere or we can fulfill my Singin’ In The Rain dream and dance in the rain. Your call.” @seasstarts​

                    “ i don’t think you want me to dance. ” micah laugh as he attempted to shield himself from the rain with his hands up over his head. it definitely wasn’t working and he was very very wet. “ also, i’m not exactly familiar with that... singing in the rain... i mean, i’ve heard the saying ? is that what it is ? but i don’t know what it looks like or sounds like or anything about it. so, is there a specific dance ? actually let’s pretend i didn’t ask that and just go some place to dry off and warm up before we both get sick. ”

James always got hyped whenever a new location to dock at arrived, they loved exploring new places, but this time their excitement was through the roof given this was the first port he’d be spending with Micah officially as his boyfriend now. It still felt surreal, to be able to call Micah that. To know that Micah was in fact that: their boyfriend. It all definitely still felt like a fairytale and they couldn’t be more on cloud nine. The start of the semester got James too busy and stressed, on top of that: it had been their father’s death anniversary just a few days ago. So the past couple of weeks hadn’t been the easiest. Ever since losing his father: September was never an easy month for James, but having Micah by their side through this all definitely did help. James knew they were the luckiest for having him, more so for calling him ‘theirs’. It felt so nice to finally get to spend some time with him outside the boat now that James was (school responsibilities wise) feeling more relaxed. It was time to start adding more ‘firsts’ as a couple to their list now. James knew their first task should be finally adopting the pet they so dreamt about. Heading towards the store Micah had found, James felt as excited as a little kid during Christmas. Basically giving little excited and adorable little jumps as they approached the entrance, cheerfully swinging Micah’s hand up and down that they were holding dearly as they hummed a happy tune. “So… first blue and yellow fish we see that steals our hearts will be. Unless we both fall in love with a different one… then maybe, just maybe, we are destined to be parents of two”, James joked with a giggle as they opened the door and pulled Micah inside. 

                    “ but what if i fall in love with a purple and orange fish ? ” he teased with a soft laugh as he stepped into the shop he’d discovered through thorough online research. “ or what if they don’t have any flounders ? will we be okay taking home a nemo ? or a pudge ? ” he couldn’t help but consider. at this rate, he’d probably end up asking to take them all back on board with them. he wouldn’t want to leave a single fish behind. but that was his soft heart speaking, unable to make anyone feel left out or forgotten, even a fish. the only thing he needed to remind himself was that they didn’t have the surface area for a large fish tank. they couldn’t take them all because they lived in dorm rooms and couldn’t possibly fit more than a small fish bowl. enough for one, maybe two. “ i don’t even know where to look first. ” micah grinned as he gave james’ hand a gentle squeeze and glanced around the shop. everything they needed could be found right here in this one location. but the question was... “ do we pick out the supplies first or do we pick a fish first and then pick it’s home and decorations based on our new pet’s personality ? do fish even have personalities ? i’d like to think so. ” he was rambling, as he often did when he got excited over something. “ maybe we should get two so that our first child doesn’t get lonely. ” he pouted at his boyfriend after a moment of consideration.
