Respawn, How does it work? - A brief theory of TF2.
It's been 12 years, if, however, there are still things that concern me about this game that I would like to discuss which is the way in which the Respawn works.
We never have shown us in comics if the Respawn as such existed but I have some ideas on how this could get to be managed taking into account what we see in the game.
First point:
Most likely, it is that the Respawn are a couple of machines on all bases of each map which are connected to one even bigger that controls the system. But, if for example are in "x" map, the others would be disconnected to avoid any incident of any of the mercenaries appearing at any other point after death occurs.
Second point:
In my opinion, which may sound a little bit stupid, the only thing that is connected to these machines are the memories, feelings and souls of the mercenaries.
Then, Why do they return with the same bodies without a problem? If only the souls were the ones connected, it would be a disaster to generate the new alive bodies, it would more probable that they never generate again or the mix their bodies, I don't know if I could get my idea across.
I think that, maybe, there's an βinternal memoryβ with information about the appearance of the mercenaries (body and facial structure, uniform, weapons and more) inside the battle field, which would mean that this information is mixed or connected with the soul and conscience of their respective owner, so any type of accidents would be avoided.
Then, why do the bodies dissapear as soon as someone respawns? I believe that the respawn, having an idea about the person's appearance, regenerates someone from their rests (if the programmes achieves to distinguish them) instead of generating a new body out of nowhere, which would be even more complicated. After this the soul and all of that would take place inside of the body, this is why it takes some time to respawn (which can be a couple of seconds or more).
Also, who created the respawn?
I believe it was some sort of collaboration between Medic and Engineer, since we know that, apparently, Medic can remove a soul. So probably, all the mercs (included himself) have been in some sort of operation were their souls were split from their bodies and then put inside the machine (plus some DNA info and stuff, like I said before), that's why Medic has them in the first place in the comics when dealing with the Devil.

Is this kind of late, right?
Anyway, I find this headcanons totally wholesome, they actually fit his personality and how he would've acted on those scenarios.
You're incredibly talented! β‘
My Spydad Headcanon
Was young and inexperienced when he met Scoutβs mom, and she was an βolder womanβ to him, teaching him a lot of life lessons. Heβs not a sentimental guy, but sheβs always stuck in his mind because of that.
Initially maintained his relationship with Scoutβs mom as part of his cover but got emotionally involved because he didnβt know well enough not to. Heβs had affairs as part of his work in the time since but has become an expert in compartmentalizing his emotions. Spyβs a professional and doesnβt want to be sloppy like he was that first time out.
Didnβt initially know about her seven (at the time) children but was in too deep by the time he found out. Oh, and she has a possessive estranged husband, too, and oh god whatβs happening.
First dealt with the husband by scaring the shit out of him, enough to make him agree to let Scoutβs mom divorce him without a fight and even correct his behavior, for a while. He wouldβve been content to let it go at that, butβ¦
When the now ex-husband eventually came sniffing back around, Scoutβs mom was heavily pregnant, and Spy wasnβt feeling charitable. He killed him in the ex-husbandβs apartment and made it look like an accident. He never told Scoutβs mom about this. She has her suspicions but thinks itβs actually kind of romantic. Spy has no idea she suspects, convinced he managed the perfect crime. Wrapped up in his espionage mentality, itβs easy for him to forget how perceptive she is.
Didnβt voluntarily leave Scout and his mom but also didnβt fight to stay with them when the organization he worked for found out about the mess heβd made and reassigned him elsewhere. He promised to stay in touch and actually did, unknown to Scout, including regular monetary gifts as informal child support.
Didnβt want Scout to know about him growing up so that he wouldnβt get caught up in the world Spy operated in. (He regrets that in retrospect.) He also just had no idea how to be a father and didnβt want to risk being terrible at it. Spy is his job, leaving no room to play happy families.
Did make the time to check up on Scout when he was in the area, taking care that he was never noticed. Heβs sat in on more than a few pee-wee baseball games.
