Before I rode the first rides, I watched this instruction video. Extremely helpful!

First Bike Rides
Last week my bike arrived! On Tuesday and Wednesday I was able to take it out with my trusty instructor/boyfriend. Both days we rode about 6 miles on the Cedar River Trail in Renton. We even rode a tiny bit in gravel, grass, and dirt. I felt a little uneasy at first, but by the time we got the bike adjusted, it felt very comfortable. After only a few minor “hick-ups” my nerves have subsisted with the idea of Moab, but I am a long ways from ready to go. Hey, at least now I know how to put on and remove the bike tires.
Next experience: Cowiche Conservatory in Yakima.

Step #1: Finding a Bike
The first step was completed today towards the goal to ride Moab: I ordered my bike. After test riding a few bikes, I decided on the Trek Marlin 6. This is my first bike since I was a little girl, and I am a little nervous about this new adventure. Leave it to me to go from riding a bike a few times a year and tent camping about 3 times in my life, to 4 four day ride and 3 night camping trip. But it will be worth it and a great adventure.
