“What brings you to Springfield?” Secretly, she assumes it’s family -- that, or he’s just passing through on his way to somewhere else (better). No one should spend their vacation in Springfield.

Well, I'm going to be a famous jazz musician. I've got it all figured out. I'll be unappreciated in my own country, but my gutsy blues stylings will electrify the French. I'll avoid the horrors of drug abuse, but I do plan to have several torrid love affairs, and I may or may not die young. I haven't decided.

honestly i’m taking lisa’s dynamic w/ her family from the early seasons, where the simpsons family actually(tm) gave a shit about each other at the end of the day. for some reason the writers now love to have it that they hate one another and the whole family could fall apart at any minute
