UPDATE
The google sheet that shows if a work has been submitted now also counts the entries and how many pieces of propaganda a given work has.
You can view the google sheet here:
And if you wish to submit a work or additional propaganda, remember that the form is always here:

The funniest side effect of these polls is me refamiliarizing myself with the basics of python after not being able to successfully use VLOOKUP in google sheets or do enough with google sheets in general.
"Iterating through a .csv file is just easier and faster." - me, apparently

Was really surprised that DC only had 1 submission after our showing in the last tournament but then I realized we're split into a bunch of different adaptations and properties lmao
I am also very shocked! Maybe there's just so much that no one can handle going through all of it? DC fans, you can submit just info on what you're familiar with under DC! I will select a variety from your propaganda! And, if the bracket is a reasonable size, I will do master propaganda posts to link!
Come forth, DC fans, DC has committed so many crimes!

Has anyone submitted Helluva Boss yet? Because WHEW, that show has done all their female characters HELLA dirty!!
They have not! You totally should! (I have not seen this show; I just advocate any and all submissions.)

This made me remember how weird I find mysogynistic media that is explicitly written by women, like wtf is ever going on with Colleen Hoover's... craft.
I really only know Hoover from that quote about big balls and the knowledge that she has a bad rep re: women but not any specifics. So all I can say is that, uh, she really writes words, huh?
And yeah, internalized misogyny is a hell of a drug.

HELP the 10 warrior cats submissions😭😭😭 op how does it feel to have unwillingly become a part of warriors fandom history via misogyny victims tournament
Have I? Well that's weird. I expected these to be fun novelties, not, like, memorable. Also, I knew the Warrior Cats fandom loved polls going into this, but I didn't realize it was this much. Like, damn, y'all really vote, huh?

I think the warrior cats and warriors in your submission list are the same thing, btw do you have reccomendations of like. anything that writes woman well
Ah, you might be right; I think I skimmed that entry's propaganda, and it was very specific to whatever series it was about without dropping the full series name, and I was like "Maybe this is Warrior Cats? I feel lazy, I'm not going to look heavily into it."
So, as a reminder: use the full but common name for the series! For example, Miraculous Ladybug (this seems to be the most common title despite being a shortened version), Warrior Cats, BBC Sherlock, etc. And check that you don't have a space after the title's entry, as that counts as a different entry than the title without the space when using the UNIQUE function in Google sheets (which is how I count the unique entries).
As for recommendations, this is hard because I watch a lot of trash, especially recently, but:
- You can never go wrong with Revolutionary Girl Utena. Note: this show (and start with the show, not the movie) has a lot of potentially triggering stuff, so check out those warnings before you start if you have any triggers at all. It uses the triggering stuff very well and to tell its story and explore its themes, not just for, like, titillation though. Indeed, it is, I would argue, necessary for the story and themes the show seeks to explore. It is legally free on Youtube in...I want to say 480p, and in better resolution on Crunchyroll and Funimation (yes, Funimation's site is still up; I find it superior to Crunchyroll's since it actually includes closed captions for dubs, although it doesn't include newer anime from after the two companies merged). Also, you want to watch the sub for this. I'm normally not one to say "the dub is bad" and stuff and be a purist about it—in fact I normally go to bat for dubs—but, uh... yeah, the dub is bad this time. Crispin Freeman and Dan Green are delightful in it though, I'll give it that.
- Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood uses its female characters well. Maybe it could be better, I've seen some people in these tournaments have beef with it, but it's a pretty perfectly told story, like solid A+, with a lot of really great female characters who I find very satisfying so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. This is on Crunchyroll, Hulu, and I believe Amazon Prime?
- Don't let the title fool you: Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is a fantastic show with great female characters who are complex and human, have compelling arcs, and are vital to the story. The relationship between Rebecca and Paula is central to the show and SO good, especially as the show goes on. The title is because it explores the trope of the crazy ex-girlfriend in a very humanizing way, and the title/opening song even mentions how the title is a sexist term, but it's a lot more nuanced than that. Also, it's a musical with very good original songs every episode. But check trigger warnings for this show too though. The show is streaming on Netflix last I checked.
- Uhh... maybe the first two seasons of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic? It's a kid's show, but it's good. I haven't seen it in years and years though, so I don't know if I can still fully vouch for it. I believe it is streaming on Netflix?
- Revue Starlight? I haven't thought about it heavily, but I had no beef watching it. This is streaming on HiDive.
- I've heard good things about Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, but I can't vouch for it personally. It's streaming on Crunchyroll.
UPDATE: Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury is also legally on youtube!
Honestly, I know more imperfect shows that I'm satisfied with, like I give it a B+ to A- at least, but that I haven't thought heavily about than stuff where I'm like, "Oh, yeah, definitely, definitely, nothing I'd pick out there as a problem." For example, Baccano! is probably imperfect (as well as not streaming legally anywhere), but I don't remember being, like, struck by a bunch of problems there. So, I'm not the best for recs that I can give a 100% guarantee for.

@applejuicewerewolf replied to your post “Can I just add this playlist to the House of Night...”:
oh, I added my tumblr url to the sheet at the second to last question, thought that was what you meant.
You got it right, actually. That is the ideal scenario, but it only works if you provided your url the first time so I can match the two, which you did, so it works perfectly!

Is there any media you didn't expect to see submitted?
I did not expect to see Jak and Daxter, not because I remember it writing women well, but because I forgot about it entirely and was suddenly blasted back 20+ years to playing it and being confused when it turned all edgelord in the sequels. "Get smacked in the face with PS2 action game nostalgia" was not on my To Do List for the day.

I'm not surprised to see 10 but out of curiosity, can I see all the submission reasons for warrior cats?
No, I limit posting submission reasons to when there is only one piece of propaganda for my own sanity and laziness. After that it gets to be a huge messy list, and, like, pass on that.

Someone asked about the Madoka propaganda, so now I gotta ask about the Higurashi propaganda. For my own piece of mind.
As there is only one submission, sure. And, again, don't bring arguments into my inbox, as this type of ask is a privilege that will be revoked once that happens.
It sexualizes all of the female characters that range from elementary school age to middle school age. It's so deeply uncomfortable with a lot of merch too. The worst part is that the story has a lot of good to it! It's only gotten worse over the years which is a shame.

Can I just add this playlist to the House of Night propaganda I submitted? https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyhUoboypJxR4eMxWJTxZhXVZOEYt1oVv&si=TxSiDFArh1LaZxSe
Also, the images are from this article: https://medium.com/@rachaellawrites/part-honey-part-whore-sex-shaming-internalized-misogyny-in-the-house-of-night-series-part-1-2b4925465a7b
Please submit it to the form with "(repeat)" after the work name; it's infinitely easier for me to keep track of. There are two House of Night submissions, so you'll need to provide some way for me to identify yours (e.g. multiple paragraphs vs a single paragraph),

shoutout to whoever submitted "Disney's Superdad (1974)" i have literally never heard of it so it must have been pretty bad to stick out in your mind
Not gonna lie, it's rough, I get why it made an impression.

I'm so sorry for the bombardment of "can I see the reasoning for ___?" but I'm pretty curious about what reasoning someone provided for Breaking Bad, as most of the "dont imitate this" type misogyny I think of comes from the fans of the show and is a direct misinterpretation of the shows text about Skyler White. I can come up with a few things that are questionable (Andrea in particular functions more as a plot point to push Jesse forward than I would like her to) but I'm still somewhat surprised that someone would consider it inherently misogynistic enough to submit it to this bracket
mostly I'm just wondering if I'll either have an argument with or agree with the reasoning
Only one person has submitted, so okay. Again, these are not my opinions one way or another, do not bring rebuttals and whatnot into my inbox, as the second that happens is the second I stop answering asks like these:
The fucking GAPING VOID of quality between the writing of the male and female characters is astounding, in an awful sort of way. And that's just in CANON. Poor Skyler.

Can I ask for the submission reason for Song of Achilles?
As there is only one submissions, sure. And, again, do not bring rebuttals and whatnot into my inbox, as the second that happens is the second I stop answering asks like these:
Jesus, where to start? The Song of Achilles is a text that wouldn't be out of place on one of the more misogynistic slash fic sites. Any woman who exists in this story is either an evil bitch or a cheerleader for the main relationship. Achilles' mother, Thetis, is seen as cold and cruel because she resents being kidnapped and raped by Achilles' father. Patroclus's unnamed mother is "simple," apparently to the point that she dribbles food from her mouth when she eats, and somehow this doesn't indict his father for anything? Deidamia is a dumb slut who's desperate for that Achilles dick (and Miller goes out of her way to describe her vagina as "oily," because we have to remind the reader how gross women's bodies are.) Briseis is changed from a bed slave (because in the universe of this book, Achilles is much too noble to do things like own slaves; he runs a halfway tent for captures Trojan women instead) to Achilles and Patroclus's BFF whose main role is to gush about how wonderful their love story is. The misogyny in this book is bone-fucking-deep, and it ENRAGES me that no one talks about it.

Ok here is a suggestion for how you can introduce the tournament to r/menwritingwomen without making an off-topic post: Here https://www.reddit.com/r/menwritingwomen/comments/183g6se/what_line_was_so_ridiculousdisgusting_it_made_you/ is a discussion post where people list times a line was so ridiculous it made them drop the book, there are some books that could be really good for this tournament here, so maybe you could post there saying you wanted to see if anyone is interested in submitting something mentioned here to the tournament, that even if making a full post about it is off topic you still wanted to bring it up in the discussion.
Honestly, I made my attempt, I don't want to bother these mods with another one. I agree they would have some interesting submissions, but, alas, I am a naturally anxious person who doesn't like to even risk bothering people, so I'm gonna leave it here. But (as I am a coward), if you want to do it, feel free! No pressure though, up to you!

Is the absence of female characters/focus on female characters enough to qualify as misogynistic, even if women aren’t spoken badly of/the ones who show up aren’t mistreated or objectified?
I'd argue it depends on the story being told, but often yes, there's some misogyny there, especially within fiction. Women are, like, half the population, why aren't they in the story? Why don't they matter? Weirdo behavior to leave them out most times, tbh.
