I’m trying to be nicer to moths. I was never mean, I just never helped them.. do you have any tips on being a guide for the moths?

The Moth understands that liking moths isn’t everyone’s candle cake. But if you really feel the dedication to guide moths, patience is key! A lot of new moths are fresh to the game and don’t understand candle grinding like us experienced players do. Instead, let them collect spirits, and with them, candles. That will cause them to seek out more spirits and learn more about the story than immediately getting them fixated on currency.

Additionally, let the moths wander if they want. Except in Golden Wasteland. That’s a bad idea. (If they insist on running around the Graveyard, let them until they eventually get spotted and close out the game in fear. It’s survival of the fittest, after all. May the Moths be ever in your favor.)

But for the most part, let them feel out the landscapes for themselves if they are the adventurous type. Some may even insist on leading you! (Or they can’t figure out how the hand-holding mechanics work). You can give helpful hints and just join for the ride.

Some moths will do fine with only some light guiding. Others may want to spend more time learning from you. If you get a chance, ask them where their destination is at a bench or a table. There are many activities you can do with moths. Take them to an oob! Introduce them to grandma! Dress them up with spells! The possibilities are endless.

On the other hand, if you meet a moth in Eden, you can lead them up the normal way or take them through a shortcut. But setting a good example by showing them how to hide from krill and dodge rocks will help the player more in the long run.

No one has to heed any of these tips. It really depends on the moth and you! You could be the difference between a new sky player quitting or staying.

Let’s do our best to nurture our community. Because without it, Sky wouldn’t be half the game it is today.

Will The Moth ever return to posting consistent updates? Who knows!

Update on The Moth™️:

We regret to inform you The Moth™️ had an unexpected incident a few months back.

The Moth was venturing through Golden Wasteland (specifically the Graveyard area), to capture some crabs to set loose in the Forest Temple, when they were intercepted by the Authorities. The Authorities, which have been described as “really spiny shrimp” with “a spotlight for an eye” by The Moth themself, attempted to confiscate the crabs by pursuing The Moth in a high speed air chase.

This was an oversight on The Moth’s part. Because The Moth possesses the flight power equivalent to a medium-sized manta, the Authorities were able to catch up easily. The Moth’s favorite crab, known as Mr. Pokes, was a casualty in this altercation. Mr. Pokes met an unfortunate end when crushed under a statue of the late King.

The Moth, spurred into a rage by the loss of their friend, picked up a nearby piece of shrapnel and used it to clamber onto one of the creatures. Using their dexterous opposable thumbs, they clung on while honking at a decibel level never heard before.

Eyewitness accounts told reporters they heard something akin to: “HOONK HONK HO-ONK HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONK” (Roughly translated to YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS.) before the Authorities took off, with The Moth still attached.

It has been two months since The Moth was last seen.

With the dispatch of a rescue party, we hope to find The Moth again soon.

It takes approximately 215 balloons to suspend The Moth in midair.

The Moth dreams of owning a cranberry bog. The Moth likes cranberries, not to eat, but to throw at people.

The Moth receives gifts from spirits sometimes. One of which included overalls and boots for cranberry farming.

The Moth’s favorite cookies are shortbread. One time, they were traveling through hidden forest and tripped while carrying a box of them. That is the reason why the bridge to the temple is broken into pieces.

Mothballs do not deter The Moth. Do not even try.
