"...no need to glare at us, Ninetales," the Bibarel said, before trotting towards the glimmer in the distance that Grusha pointed at.

As Bibarel investigated, the Sunflora stepped closer to Grusha, and asked, "What's your story? Oh my gosh, I can't wait to hear gossip from Blizzard Island! I thought no one lived out here!"

⠀naïvely still he hangs on to that hopeful shred of realism, this has to be some sort of fever dream, even if it throws curveballs into every solution he can think of.⠀there is no pinch awake with paws, no cold splash of water when this frigid snow feels like the most familiar thing of all.

⠀no quick fix.⠀no jumping through hoops to rationalize the unrational.⠀nothing but playing along.

⠀“ . . . people? ”

⠀voices, over in the distance.⠀his ears prick and his head raises, eyes peering through endless white—⠀scanning.⠀sure enough, something—⠀someone—⠀new heads his way, but those . . .⠀weren't people.

⠀certainly, some part of him was relieved.⠀whether human or not, he wasn't alone, and he suspects he might find crumbs at least of an answer.⠀but a part of him is frozen in place—⠀despite his typing, in lands so unfamiliar, how does he keep his cool?

⠀“ um . . . ? ”

⠀initially he doesn't have much of any useful response to the pair—⠀what is ' blizzard island '?⠀what TM?⠀why are these pokémon also talking?—⠀and for a moment he's quiet, looking them over, almost glaring down at them in his silence.⠀even in dreams some of his less - desirable traits carry over—⠀coming off almost rude when he simply doesn't know what to say.

⠀but then, a glimmer catches his eye⠀(⠀were ninetales' eyes always so strong?⠀), and his ears prick again.

⠀“ over there, ”⠀snout pointing to a distant shine,⠀“ could that be it . . . ? ”

⠀there was no guarantee it was anything more than snow crystals catching the light of the sun, but in all fairness, he hadn't had even the chance to explore just yet.⠀it was better than nothing.

"Hero-types?" Acacia asked, tilting his head back to normal. "If you're looking for the Pokemon who saved this world in the past, you're speaking with one of them."

He extended a vine, gesturing to the shiny-looking badge on his scarf.

"Acacia of Team Seedlings, Heroes of Sky," he said. Somehow, the Meganium seemed much more imposing with that title. Though the kindness in his voice and heart didn't fade.

"What do you need?" he asked.

"There's a bunch of those... hero types... out there," the Togepi said, though his voice grew more and more cautious with each syllable uttered.

"I need them for something. Something I can't tell just anyone."

Supplies... He could probably use some berries, or something like that... But it really depended on what kind of a 'person' this grass-type was. How he could use them to his advantage.

"Not that I can think of," Pahelia said, before gasping. "Oh! Completely forgot about the Dungeon Gale!"

She took a second to compose herself, then said, "Be very careful to not linger too long on one floor of a mystery dungeon. If you do, the Dungeon Gale will blow you out of the dungeon. Violently."

"You can avoid it with a Progress Device. We have a few spare, if you want any," Apoyime signed.

"Other than that, um, I think that's about it!" Pahelia said. "Ready to go when you are!"

So. A place where reality was warped.

The Sinjoh Ruins came to mind. As did Turnback Cave. Giovanni's intrigue with the subject he disguises with a flat affect and a single hum of contemplation.

The nature of the pokemon in the dungeons interested him less. It just sounded like the ones in the dungeons lacked sentience. Of course it would be disturbing.

"Hm," is all he responds to that.

After a moment's thought, Giovanni puts his claws to his chin, "So, is there anything else I should know before we depart? It sounds quite serious, so I'm not sure how long it can be delayed."

"Truthfully, we don't know what determines what Pokemon a human becomes upon arriving here," Ayueg said, tapping a talon against the ground. "We don't exactly have a large sample size to work with. But as far as we can tell, it's a combination of personality, and the Voice of Life's choice."

Well, that was a relief. He wasn't alone. But yet, there were still concerns. Why were there so many crises that required a human?

Sorting through the questions in his mind, Alric came to the first. "I don't suppose you know what influences what Pokemon a human becomes. I never thought that a ralts would fit me. I'd have thought more like my starter, a Fennekin." He chuckled, it sounded like a silly question to pose now that he said it.

The Voice and the human-turned-Audino soared through the skies. Both flying Pokemon and animal birds flew by with the rushing wind.

"Again, no need to feel guilty," Hydreigon said as They flew. "Not your fault."

She still felt a bit of guilt from it. Because Celeste was still bipedal; the motion and momentum of it easily translated into the body of an Audino.

Even if they had told her it wasn't a big deal and didn't harm them, a Pokemon that helps the nurses in Unova aren't known to hurting others.

"Sure!" Vernir said, standing up. "Follow me, it's the big building built into the side of the hill. Hard to miss."

The Servine steps away from the rainbows, and towards the path down the hill.

She let out a small yawn. Initially, Kathy attempted to wipe her eye with her hands... but then she realized that she had no arms. so, her tail will have to do.

"Yeah... I... think that I need to get some sleep. This whole situation's been taxing. Can you take me to the Inn? I'll see how I can adjust to this new place tomorrow."

Either that or find out that this was just a fever dream all along. A part of her was hoping for the latter.
