"Oh? But you just said the kitchen's closed," Mara said with a faint smirk. "I wouldn't want to make a liar out of you. I'll just pop on over to one of the other sandwich stores in town, then." She grinned teasingly, making a big show of turning around and slow walking back toward the door.

"Sorry kitchen's closed" Daniel called from the back when he heard the bell above the door of Dasha's ring to indicate that someone had either entered or left. Seeing as most of the staff had already left and the ones who were still there weren't out in the front, Daniel knew it was someone coming in. "Oh hey Mara" he said when he popped out to the front and saw who it was. "I don't think all the food's been put up if you want me to make you a sandwich right quick"

Mara was carrying a rather suspicious bundle and was struggling. Eventually she couldn't continue, and they fell out of her arms with a loud clatter and clanging, revealing the bundle to be a group of swords.

"Shit! Oh fuck," she muttered as she hurriedly did her best to wrap them all back up in the blanket she'd been carrying them in, hoping nobody had seen her.

Dodie glanced over and had to stifle a laugh when she saw the man stuck there, knowing that since she was at work she had to be a little more professional. "Uh, okay. Why did you stick a man to our window?" she asked, that being the most pressing question, to her.

"I might have accidentally intentionally stuck a man to one of your windows." Nick said, entering Rise and Grind, turning around to motion towards one of the shop windows where a man was indeed against it, along with what looked to be a bluish substance

"Oh, okay. I can do my best to help you with that," Sara said with a nod. "Do they like more traditional boy or girl toys? Do they have any special interests?" she asked, trying to get an idea of where to start.

"Sorry to bother you, but I've realized I am completely out of my element." Olivia laughed a little, glad she'd been able to grab the obviously more competent of the two employees in the shop. "I'm supposed to be buying a gift for a friend's six year old's birthday, but I have no idea what six year olds play with or even like."

Avery felt bad for running late to her meet-up with Julian, but Helena had been in a state and she couldn't just leave her. When she saw Julian lying on the ground, she exhaled slowly and moved to lay down in front of him. "Hi," she said with a small smile. "Sorry I'm late."

The weather was finally nice enough that Julian managed to talk Avery into spending the day in the park. He had laid out a blanket and was stretched across, his eyes closed, enjoying the sun. There weren't a ton of people around for him to listen in on, just the birds. It was nice to just zone out on their chirps while he waited.

"You're growing more powerful," Avery admitted, purring loudly as she moved closer, settling down against Helena to assist with the healing process, as the witch drew magic from her. "Do you have to keep intentionally aggravating him, though? I don't like seeing you like this . . ."

Helena sat hunched over in a ritual healing circle. There was a poultice on her back trying to heal a particularly back wound she had received at the hands of her father. Things were getting worse. Helena's magic had a habit of lashing out now when she felt threatened and so it was never a case of just being tortured by her father any more it was a battle every time.

"Something was different this time." She whispered into the darkness, the shadows pulled up around her to aid in her healing but making her harder to see. "He pulled out spells he's never used on me before. There was something in his eyes..." She caught Avery's gaze. "I could almost think it was fear." @mytarnishedsilver

Mia laughed as she stole a bite of his pizza, dodging away just in case he tried to catch her and steal some of her own back. "This is what you get for picking one you know i'd like." She giggled, turning so she was walking backwards as they headed down the side walk. "I can't help myself. I'm a gremlin and you just have to put up with me because you love me." She shrugged. "Do you wan to stay at mine tonight or are you heading home after this?" The night time routine had been a little tense since their hiccup. Mia refused to think of it as anything but. Ryan had tried something outside of his comfort zone and it hadn't worked and that was fine. The fact he tried at all meant to world to her. @mytarnishedsilver
