E is for expectations
And man do I hate them!
In the dictionary, expectations means a strong belief that something will happen or be the case.
We all have experienced it. Expectations on certain movies, books, events, people, on your own life.
Add other people's expectations on top of your own and then add society as a whole and their expectations as well.
Throughout my life, I've let other people's expectations control how I lived.
I either abided by them to make the other person happy or sabotaged them as an act of rebellion.
It's a never ending cycle.
No more.

D is for Artist Dates
And they are quite fun and relaxing.
On top of the Alphabet Superset, I am also participating in the Artist's Way. One of the things that is recommended is Artist Dates.
Like taking yourself out on little art dates.
I've never actually been to many places where art is the focal idea of the outing. It has been really nice though.
You get to see yourself in a new light.
It's also recommended to do these dates alone, something I don't have a problem with (but others might)
Trust yourself. Have fun with creativity.

C is for candlelight concert
And man, is it freaking awesome! Romantic too, if you let yourself think that. Kinda hard to do since I was by myself.
But I did have a purpose.
I was thinking of a particular scene for a book I'm wanting to write and thought maybe my two characters attending a candlelight concert could be an idea.
What better way to try and emulate that scene in a book then to attend the very thing they are going to?
Describing a scene is a weakness of mine.
But one I am trying to overcome.

B is for Books 📚
And oh boy do I love them but also, I think I have too many.
This feels weird to say because honestly, I don't think there is anything wrong with that.
Reading isn't a bad thing but I do have a new perspective about it.
Or over reading to be precise.
I have this new habit of borrowing too many books from the library, being scattered about which ones to read and consuming different information all at the same time.
None of it retains.
I'm also using reading as an excuse to not take any action.

A is for Apples 🍏
Are apples a mundane fruit?
I don't recall them ever being anyone's favourite fruit. People I know say their favourites are strawberries, watermelon, pineapple, even durian. But not apples.
Yet, it is one of the most popular fruit.
If I was to conduct a test, saying list different types of fruit, I'm sure it won't take too long for apples to be mentioned.
Heck, we even know the saying; an apple a day keeps the doctor away.
But why aren't apples anybody's favourite fruit? Is it because they are too easy to get all year round?

Just a quick intro into what is happening here.
I'm taking part in the Alphabet Superset, a free six month course where each week you post work online using the corresponding letter as a topic.
There are also some constraints, in terms of theme, style etc.
My theme is fairly simple for myself, broad enough that I won't be too constrained and is basically just an excuse to research whatever weird topic I want.
The theme : A quick scan into random thoughts and happenings.
Because I'll be honest with myself, I don't need to be falling into any more rabbit holes.
My style is why I am here.
Every week I will make and post a 100 word drabble explaining my topic on Tumblr.
The answer as to why I am doing this is pretty simple. I like writing, I get random ideas that never go anywhere and I'm deathly afraid of putting any of these two things together online where it could possibly be seen.
Which is the point of this course. There's quite a few people who are creative and too afraid to show it. Or don't even believe they are. Or think they don't deserve to let themselves be creative, this list could drag on forever.
For myself personally, along with those reasons, I also can't seem to commit to something to the very end. The only thing I got with me that says I can is my 215 day streak on Duolingo.
For more info, I would suggest checking out this YouTube video:
