time and time again he gets jealous over something She's achieved and hurts her for it. Harley Quinn could bring Gotham to its knees if she really, Really wanted to, he knows that. maybe not at first but I think that's why his degrading comments and such get so fucking vile by the time they're officially over.

She doesn't want to destroy Gotham she just wants to be happy with him but he wants to make it so she genuinely believes she couldn't achieve a fraction of that destruction. that she's nothing without him. that she's not capable of anything aside from being his. being whatever it is he wants or needs and that's it.

He hates the idea of her getting credit for ploys he wants the glory from. he doesn't like seeing her come up with something he wishes he'd thought of first.

I think that's why he also very quickly made sure there was a message for Harley in her cell at the end of Mad Love. She'd proved she could best Batman and he doesn't know what path she'll be taking upon release. sure there's a chance she'd just leave and be rehabilitated, but there's also a chance she stays. She stays and she steals his final grandiose action by killing Batman.

She almost did it and there's a possiblity she'll do it again. He doesn't want that.

i think at a certain point damian is just making shit up when he talks about his childhood just to cause a reaction like he'll say "i've trained with swords before i even learned how to walk" and it will be true but he'll see your awed reaction and go "....and every week they would declare a free for all and order every league soldier to attempt to kill me. they called it slice the baby saturday" and he would just be lying out of his ass

I feel like a lot of people don���t quite get what a butler is. The role tends to get rounded off to ‘male servant’ pretty regularly in some media, whereas actually butlers are typically not just servants but chief servants. The butler was generally in charge of either all male servants or just all servants, period, in the household of an aristocrat or other very wealthy person. This meant that butlers have often been fairly powerful and influential people, and sometimes even had a manservant or two of their own.

(Also, fun fact: Mary Roberts Rinehart, the early 20th century mystery writer who is widely credited with popularizing the whole ‘the butler did it’ trope was nearly murdered by one of her own servants, a chef whom she had passed over for promotion to butler. He came at her with a pistol, but it jammed, allowing her chauffeur time to wrestle it away and restrain him.)
