Tank (2003) - Palestinian Artist LARISSA SANSOUR

Tank has the Palestinian struggle on the ground as its main focus. The piece is a six minute long video clip showing a group of peace activists trying to hinder the progress of an Israeli tank in the occupied territories.

The footage is kept raw and unedited accompanied by monotonous electronic music. Towards the end of the piece the tank points its small machine gun at the head of one of the activists. But instead of firing, the tank ends up lowering its gun and retreating. - LS
