I’m just gonna clarify that I barely ship anyone or anything but I have mutuals who do cloneship and I’m just gonna say this:

anyone who thinks they have the power on the internet to judge right or wrong is stupid because well, it’s the internet. Literally one of the best places for viewpoints, ships, and opinions that deviate from this heavily sanitised norm that’s been shoved on us

Point is, while there are gonna be people who bitch about and disagree on things, you’re not a bad person for not going along with them

Also it’s just sad to go and harass people who are shipping clones together?

like cmon man you’re literally saying it’s morally wrong to draw two fictional characters kissing, they aren’t hurting anyone

(but pls cloneship or not make sure to properly tag things as nsfw and use readmores that’s the only problem I have 😭)

worst thing is being held hostage by a group of antis and being anxious over what they'd do if you as much as insinuated some clones just suck eachother dry sometimes while also being afraid of talking to new people T-T

i am so sorry you're in this situation. fandom is supposed to be fun, it's supposed to be a community not a threat.

forging new connections can be so scary/difficult, but i just got into the clone wars fandom like? last summer? and i have so many AMAZING mutuals and they enrich not only my fandom experience but also my life. i'm positive i'm gonna miss some, but shout out to my cloneshipping (and cloneship-friendly) mutuals, many of whom create cloneshipping works and all of whom would be happy to have you.

None of us are obligated to ship Captain Rex with any specific character.

Ship him with an OC, if you like. Ship him with a Reader, if you like. Ship him with Anakin or Obi-Wan or—I don't care who. Ship him with someone messy or ship him with someone who has it all together.

People deserve to engage with the character in what makes right to them and what speaks well. I won't like the every choice other people make and that is okay. Nor do I expect everyone to like my Rex ships of choice. We all have our reasons and takes for why and what we ship what we do.

Have fun with your Rex ship. I just want to know that there's room for more Rex (that isn't a character assassination).

I'll be in my corner making him make smoochie faces with the character of my choice.

About the AO3 "No Guest Comments for a while" warning

If you're not following any of AO3's social media accounts you might be in the dark as to what kind of "spam comments" have engendered this banner at the top of the site:

These spam comments have been posted about a great deal on the AO3 subreddit for the past couple of days. Initially they comprised a bunch of guest (logged out users) bot comments that insulted authors by suggesting they were using AI and not writing their own fics. Some examples, from the subreddit:

But it then escalated to outright graphic porn images and gifs being posted in comments, again by logged out 'Guest' accounts. Obviously, I'm not going to give examples of those, but between these two bot infestations, AO3 has clearly decided to act and has temporarily closed the ability to post comments for users who are not logged in with an AO3 account.

Unfortunately, this means that genuine readers who don't have an AO3 account won't be able to leave comments on fics that they enjoy.

If you are a genuine reader who doesn't yet have an AO3 account, I strongly suggest getting yourself on the waiting list for one. More and more AO3 authors are now locking their fics down to registered users only - either due to these bot comments or concerns about AI scraping their work - which means you're probably missing out on a lot of great stuff.

Hopefully guest commenting will be enabled again at some point soon, but I suggest not waiting until then. Get yourself on that list.

Wait times are going to be longer than usual at the moment, due to the current Wattpad purge [info on Fanlore | Wattpad subreddit thread], but if you're in line, then your invite will come through eventually.
