Tony had gotten himself caught up in a project, doing everything he could to stay busy rather than moping over Rhodey being gone so long. When he heard his voice, though, Tony shot up as fast as was humanly possible. “Rhodey?” He took a second to take him in, then practically kept at him, knocking over his chair in the process. His face was pressed right into Rhodey’s shirt when he spoke again. “You’re supposed to be in some awful tent or something. When did you get here?”
he laughed quietly as tony all but crashed into him, arms wrapping around him tightly. “i landed a few hours ago. thought i’d leave it as a surprise for you.” he murmured quietly, fingers lifting to brush through tony’s hair. it wasn’t much of a surprise to still find tony up though, he’d learnt to expect it when the other started a new project. “i’ve got some time off now.”

Italy . Italy had sounded amazing & at this point as long as they had gotten as far out of NYC as possible she didn’t care of they were going to stay in a ditch in Italy . ‘ no cities . nothing hustling and bustling . i just want to spend time with you . ‘ with gossip girl seemingly only getting worse this vacation couldn’t have come at a better time because all she wanted was to get out — all she wanted was to pretend that they weren’t in the spot light. ’ please tell me that we can leave soon !! ‘
“alright, no cities.” nodding a little as he continued looking. that was the problem with places like the hamptons. too many people went there so there was never any real escape. gossip girl would follow everyone anywhere if she could. they stood a far better chance in europe. “we should be able to leave pretty quickly. i’ve asked chuck if he can get a jet for us, speed things up.” it was easier than trying to find commercial flights on short notice, at least.
