No bc what wrecks me it’s how sweet and respectful Tommy was. He guided Buck’s lips into his own but he didn’t pressure him, he gave him time and space to pull back if he wanted to. He didn’t grab him, nor did he deepen the kiss. NONE OF IT IS!!! jack yearns for santa fe BECAUSE he has no connection to it!!! he has no expectations of it at all, he just found a place that was as opposite to new york as he could imagine and pinned all his hopes on it, THAT'S THE TRAGEDY OF IT ALL!!! if jack did go to santa fe, he'd realize all too quickly that this was not the fantasy he built up in his head. he will always feel out of place wherever he goes because the thing he's running from is a piece of himself that he has to reckon with, that's the whole point!! family isn't something he'll just stumble upon by chance, it's something he has to be brave enough to make for himself. his santa fe could've been ANYWHERE. thats why "i'm dead if i can't count on you today" was so gut-wrenching is because he CAN'T count on santa fe. ever.
