man. stealing the framework of what nat always says of being literally and metaphorically trans cause it works well to separate my Thoughts :tm: on this topic

literally trans is. what it says on the box. although the binary system in crop is not the same one at all to what we have in our world there is a very clear Binary and auberon (/neopronouns in general) very definitely falls Outside of that. and ve has never faced any discrimination or prejudice for that (* more on that later) there is still this very strong sense of... other. ve's met tons of people who use the same pronouns! or share one set of them! but that's not true of verself at all and not to go all #representationmatters but auberon cares So Much about being able to see verself in other people comma. it's something that's had to be given up because its just. so far from being sustainable anymore but that was the whole deal against wild shape! why being a druid and casting spells was okay (despite priya being herself about it) but this thing that was unique to ver wasn't. there isn't any internalized transphobia about wishing ve didn't use ve/ver or any regrets about any of that at all, it just lays the groundwork for some of vis other greater fears of being. different.

and THEN there's the metaphorically trans, auberon's whole relationship with the spirits. this is where the idea of facing prejudice gets interesting because auberon HAS absolutely experienced a lot of that!! both from priya growing up and then also what was narrated of the city's reaction to ver :// the antlers through this lens also serve to really. act as the force that 'outed' ver before ve was ready. without them auberon could just play off, lie or just straight up deny any connection or relationship to the spirits but ve Can't with the antlers, and they draw everyones attention first thing!! that's why it takes such a conscientious effort for ver to. speak positively about them or refer to them as 'my antlers' rather than 'the antlers'. auberon would like them a lot but right now they're all bundled up in this trauma of having this relationship put on blast. TALK ABOUT CONSIDERING VE/THEY

-sin eaters. are they gonna be able to do smth to auberon?? who knows. -border. i am 99.9% this will Not be the case, both from a thats lame perspective and the specific language on child of the parent, but it would be So Funny (for me) if auberon was fae now and just couldnt. cross the border anymore just got stuck in agricola, -lunar eclipse. idk. general lunar eclipse rule just seems to be that everyone can see the spirits. which doesnt effect auberon because ve can already See all the spirits and all the people can already see ver but seems like it'd be fun if something weird happened.

man. this one is hard!!! uhh i can never quite remember what the age gap was but if its 2+ years then franto for a couple years, and for a long time caelus was vis biggest role model. anyone else particularly impressive from war stories

ve doesn't really.... have any particular emotions tied to it. right now a sense of duty because sunrise back to that #grind

28. If they could change their class(es), would they? To what?

commoner.

in reality ve probablywouldn't change anything. ve would want to be a better druid but be unwilling to sacrifice any of vis monk levels to do so. both of them are too important to vis identity to change. at one point in vis life ve probably woud've wanted to trade monk for fighter

I don't think Gwynan was ever scared of the dark really, because he could always cast light, so I think that fear of the dark just transferred to this... fear of any lights going out. Legally distinct from being afraid of the dark but also not at all.

man. 😬. i think that when ve was very young, before meeting the spirits ve was likely scared of them due to whatever stories ve was told. then after growing up/meeting them ve had this huge fear of priya taking them away somehow. after a few years ve stopped worrying about that though.

occasionally. its more common for ver to not.
