So I'm a devout Catholic and long-time submissive (to the point that when my sister was doing an in-depth critique of 50 Shades in college, she had to explain why she knew so much about BDSM. Like, we were both teen girls in the same house and trying to figure shit out together, and my shit just happened to be weird.) Anyway.
Recently I was talking to my sister about tradwives. She is not Catholic anymore. I said "yanno, a lot of people would be a lot happier if tradwives and/or their husband's just admitted that they're just into maledom." And my sister agreed.
"Keep your kinks out of Sunday School." She said.
the thing about gay bdsm dynamics is they will make explicit what is implicit in normative cisheterosexual dynamics and then those complicit in cisheterosexuality will act all scandalized about seeing themselves in the funhouse mirror

If u want to write a story about a character that's just you but hotter with a dark twisted backstory and magical powers and a pet falcon or something, I think u should just go ahead and do that. Who's gonna stop you? The government?? Fuck the police.

Sometimes fiction doesn’t have a moral to the story. Sometimes fiction points at something and goes “Ever thought about THAT???” And you look at what it’s pointing at for a bit.

It is literally crazy how often people will, without a hint of irony, say shit like "if you are into cnc/intox/somno/incest/etc I'll fucking kill you/kill yourself/you should fucking die" all in a million variations and it's like damn, looks like someone is really thinking about inflicting violence, you could even say perhaps fantasizing about it, quite a lot. But don't worry you're wayyy better than those filthy degenerates because unlike them, you don't ask for consent before telling them to kill themselves, negotiate boundaries prior, keep channels of communication open, and care for them afterwards and strengthen the relationship. No you're sooo much more moral than them cause you actually just want them to die. No further reflection needed đź‘Ť

I think that saying novels should only be about good normal upstanding characters is uh. Encouraging authors to appropriate other people's experiences, and goes against the "own voices" principle. Because you have to have something wrong with you to write a book.

“You shouldn’t glorify violence in your stories” well I’m glorifying it. Sexualizing it even.

Okay also watching Firefly is great because SO OFTEN the crew are in conflict. The crew we love. Like, every single one of these characters is someone I love, but they DON'T ALWAYS AGREE. Because good people don't always agree.

Yanno, I'm watching Firefly (for the 100th time) and like, I GET the criticisms that Wash is an obvious self-insert who Joss shipped with his fantasy warrior woman. I get it. But also. It's not illegal to make a story where a character like the author gets together with a character the author likes. We all do it ALL THE TIME. Being horny ain't a damn crime, even for men. The issue I have with Joss Whedon is that he pretends being sexually attracted to warrior women makes him a feminist. Like, as if feminism is "oh yeah I love when women are in charge (and step on my face with their bare feet)".

Watching the old X-Men cartoon with my mom (so we can watch the NEW old X-Men cartoon) and all this mutant talk is making me think of Blorbo from my imagination.
