The research was carried out by our knowledge partner, TechSci Research. The period under review are the five financial years between 2017–18 and 2021–22. The list is based on a study of revenue and profitability data for these last five financial years. Companies in sectors like steel, cement, energy, chemicals, packaging, telecommunication, biotech and healthcare have emerged as the fastest growing in each of the financial categories.

“In the ‘Super Heavyweight’ category, in which companies had net sales of Rs 50,000 crore and above, the companies on the top rung include JSW Steel, UltraTech Cement, Grasim Industries, Tata Steel and Bharti Airtel. In the ‘Heavyweight’ segment, where net sales are between Rs 10,000 crore and Rs 49,999 crore, Deepak Nitrite, AGC Networks, Godawari Power & Ispat and J.K. Lakshmi Cement were in the forefront”, Anurag batra said.
The ‘Middleweight’ category had companies with revenue between Rs 1,000 crore and Rs 4,999 crore. It had Apollo Healthcare, Indus Towers, Gokul Agro Resources, Gujarat Gas and APL Apollo Tubes showing the fastest rate of growth. In the ‘Welterweight’ category of companies with net sales between Rs 1,000 crore and Rs 4,999 crore, Kirloskar Ferrous, Laurus Labs, TinPlate Company, Narayana Health and Cosmo First bagged the top ranks. Several profiled companies clocked record growth numbers in FY2022 while maintaining a healthy growth rate in the previous two fiscal years despite the Covid-induced challenges, Anurag batra concluded.

My husband and I went to some of the popular children’s shopping stores but didn’t find the good quality to match the big price tag. Sometimes the material wasn’t even kid-friendly! Exasperated, I called my sister to ask her what she used to do when her kids were younger. She said she blindly went to Super Saravana Stores and only shopped there for the kids. She said in this shop you get everything from costumes for school projects, fancy dress, sportswear and regular wear to clothes for parties, weddings and functions. The children outgrow their clothes quickly so the fact that all this is available at amazing prices is just an added bonus. I asked her if it isn’t a daunting experience to get in and out of a shop so large. She said, “Once you go inside and see the collection, you won’t ask me such stupid questions! Do you know they also have Jewellery for kids? It’s so cute! When you’re there also go see the salwar section for workwear. You’ll stop all shopping everywhere else. Trust me!”
With that, we went to Super Saravana Stores. My sister did not give me a full picture. This shop was so much more amazing than she told me! I could not believe my eyes! First of all, their floor space is so huge that you don’t even notice if it is crowded or not! So many sales staff everywhere… stacking & restacking so that each customer gets a fresh shelf to look at. The professionalism itself struck me as incredible. I got distracted at first with the ladies’ wear because I haven’t seen so many shelves and shelves of options anywhere else! My husband reminded me (twice!) that we were there to shop for our little darling and so I tore myself away to find the kids section.Read More

Eight new medical colleges in Telangana from this year
One of these medical colleges has come up in tribal area Kothagudem in Bhadradri Kothagudem district.
The minister said that despite the Centre’s discrimination towards Telangana, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao took the historic initiative to set up one medical college each in all 33 district.
Harish Rao pointed out that in the last seven decades only five medical colleges were set up in Telangana but in the last eight years after formation of Telangana, 12 new medical colleges were sanctioned. Sixteen new medical colleges are being set up, making it one medical college per district.
The minister claimed that Telangana made several representations to the Centre for medical colleges but not a single medical college was sanctioned.Read more
