okay fuck it going all in
from dick's POV:
jason is always partly gonna be dick's kid brother. i think there would be a part of dick that would be a little envious of jason and bruce bc he feels the need to "earn" bruces love and trust while it seemed like he gave it freely to jason at one point. yes this is insane and toxic but that is what's ideal.
tim is like. y'know when one parent strongly objects to getting a dog but then they end up loving the dog so the person who wanted the dog originally just sits there smugly
i don't think he understands cass one single bit. he probably thinks she is so incredibly damaged and that wasn't his problem at the time
damian is like. that kid is the most annoying creature to ever walk the planet. also I love him beyond measure I would lay down my life for him. no one understands him like I do. also he's ridiculous and crazy
I'm not gonna do any more duke bc I almost never read stuff post flashpoint
tim
dick is like...his first crush his idol his goofy older brother who gives him noogies. overall just incredible fondness. they grow more distant over time but also ...they Get each other i fear. they both have a Thing about "fixing" bruce
jason leaves him on read even though it was a really really funny post he swears (it was a ten year old reddit thread)
cass and tim are just. pals. they solve cases together. tim is the brains cass is the brawn
Tim doesn't like to think too much about damian. mostly just awkward at this point
cass
dick is so studyable to her. they share this unwavering faith in the symbolism of batman. i think they would send each other their favorite emojis instead of having interesting conversations
again i think she would want nothing to do with jason
tim is, again, her partner in crime. at first she did not care about him as a person (lmao) but i think they could bond over stuff like music.
damian is annoying to her at first. but you get raised by the same assassin cult and you find some stuff in common.
damian
dick. they made a good team. but also he doesn't know how to ask for attention in a way that's not super,, mean? he's not sure but dick is probably the one member of the family damian actually...likes. bc most of his relationship with bruce is seeking attention and approval with a hearty helping of hero worship
he constantly reminds jason of stupid shit he's done. he also loves to aggravate jason on purpose bc it's really easy.
there's this gap between older and younger zoomers. damian thinks tim is incredibly cringe . like he's doing better than dick but that is a low bar...he now regrets trying to kill tim but he does not want to address it in case tim wants to hurt him back. so it's easier for him to pretend to hate even though he's just sort of . lost on where he wants this be in the family. that was his major insecurity and he took it out on tim
oh he thinks cass is the coolest person to ever grace the earth. they get over their respective fears of being irredeemably evil and do parallel play together
okay personal hcs for jason's relationships woth his siblings:
have cass and jason ever actually interacted in canon I think it would be really interesting. like cass would be jasons favorite sibling and jason would be cass's least favorite. which makes him like her more
jason and dick are on strained terms but like they probably have the best relationship on this list.
tim keeps trying to make sarcastic inside jokes between them but jason is like "do I even know you??" which then tim is like "okay well you tried to kill me I didn't wanna be friends anyway"
damian bites I fear
jason and duke are just that one tom king issue where jason keeps mentioning insane things in the house and duke is just. not even surprised at this point. duke saw him lose tug of war with a dog I feel like he must not be impressed

i want to see the scenes where Cass beats Steph up really bad. i think there'd be really easy ways to demonstrate character through training fight scenes. steph with huge and open attacks, what anyone experienced would see as opening up unnecessary vulnerabilities. cass who conserves energy with tight and efficient movements. eventually they'd kind of balance each other out but that's just part of my stephcass thesis
ideally? a batgirl/spoiler movie about cass's early relationship with steph and babs and bruce showing cass how to have a life. with some sick ass action and silent detective scenes and a budding romance subplot. duh

Everyone makes jokes about Damian not understanding meme culture but I think he would know every meme in existence. He doesn't understand a reference Tim makes One Time and the prospect of knowing less than him makes Damian go on a deep-dive of internet culture. He spends three weeks binge-watching those 5 hour iceberg video essays about problematic youtubers. He has Vine compilations saved on his phone in case he needs to double-check a joke. He calls Steph old when she doesn't get an extremely niche meme he sends her

other people struggling to recognise jason post-res, sure. but-- jason coming back to gotham and keep walking into dead ends because some parts of the city plan shifted just a bit when it got rebuilt after the events of "no man's land." jason getting lost in the manor; jason opening the door to where his room once would be, finding it to be just a carbon copy of other guest bedrooms. jason struggling to read bruce's expressions because they used to be so much more open. jason surprised at the ruthlessness of minor villains who used to just stick to his gimmicks but now are dedicated serial killers and terrorists. jason being scolded by batman for not following a protocol that he does not know of during a rare team up... etc... etc... so what follows is not quite relearning; relearning assumes a certain level of previous familiarity he does no longer possess... the city got colder, and crueler. but it's his home. he can keep up. he can even be two steps ahead (the relativity of distance is a problem. ahead might look dangerously like behind. but trust him, he knows what he's doing.) the new rules can be broken before he finds out about them. he won't be surprised about his bedroom being no more if he never wanted to go back there in the first place. no need to read into bruce's expressions; they obviously convey the worst. minor rogues can be disposed of before they turn out to pose real danger. and that dead end, the wall? nothing an explosive won't fix when he's in a hurry.

I just think it's really neat how much fans have latched onto the fact that Stephanie Brown was Robin.
Like, both in and out of universe Stephanie was never meant to be taken seriously as Robin. The writers only made her Robin so that her death in War Games would be shocking and Bruce only made her Robin because he thought it would make Tim jealous enough to come back. She only had the mantle for 71 days before being fired (for doing something that literally every other Robin has also done and not been fired over), and she was only active during 50 of them. There are only six issues where Steph is Robin in the canon timeline.
Her final words before her death are asking Batman (Batman, because even on her death bed he doesn't trust her enough to take off his mask) if any of it was real. Was she really Robin? And Batman assures her that of course she was, that she was part of the legend and no one can take it away from her. Except it's a lie, because despite his reassurances, Batman never puts up a memorial or does anything to preserve her memory. He never really thinks of her as Robin, and even her friends will always think of her as Spoiler before ever remembering Robin.
Meanwhile DC spent years ignoring her time as Robin, to the point where it was completely erased from existence for awhile. It's technically back now, because timelines are weird, but unlike the others it's never been altered. She's never been given a second chance at it, no one's ever gone back and added more issues or details about those 71 days, or even seems to want to acknowledge them most of the time.
But fans have clung on to it anyway. Sure, there are lots of people who make Robin posts that are just about the boys, but there are just as many people who are ready to fight anyone who doesn't include her. Maybe it was only for a little while, but she was Robin, and we're sure as hell not going to forget it. If DC isn't going to bother to remember, than we will.
Stephanie Brown was Robin. She was part of the legend. It was real. No matter what, no one can take that away from her.

okay like Yeah tumblr batstans get annoying but also if that is the only punchline you can come up with. you are also annoying
anyway I wish there was a way to fully divorce fanonized batfam fandom from like..."actual" batman comic readers on here. just so everyone can do what they want. bc it is personally a little frustrating for me when I look for posts about the characters I really identify with and enjoy only to see their bastard clone instead. but idc if someone out there likes the bastard clone more I just don't want to see
