Do you know Jesus? Do you truly realize that Jesus is the greatest gift you can ever receive. I know that He is certainly the greatest gift I have ever received. It’s the gift that will never end. However, sometimes it can seem like the whole world is falling apart and that God doesn’t care. But, that couldn’t be further from the truth. WHO IS JESUS? Jesus is the “Living Word” It says in John 1: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were created through Him, and without Him nothing was created that was created. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of mankind. 5 The light shines in darkness, but the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1: 1-5 MEV God created all things. Jesus is the Word become flesh, who was with God in the beginning when He created the earth and all that is in it. This includes you and me. Meekness Does Not Mean Weakness Typically, humans respond to undesirable or difficult circumstances with frustration, bitterness, anger, and the like. However, when you trust that God is in control and have faith in His ability to lead you and direct events in your life, You can accept those things which may not be pleasant in your life and with meekness accept it. That is not the same as resignation which can sometimes look the same externally. “The patient and hopeful endurance of undesirable circumstances identifies the person as externally vulnerable and weak but inwardly resilient and strong. Meekness does not identify the weak but more precisely the strong who have been placed in a position of weakness where they persevere without giving up.” https://www.biblestudytools.com/dictionary/meekness Read more at: https://patriciaadderley.com/meekness-in-the-bible-eighth-fruit-of-the-spirit/ #meekness #fruitofthespirit #easter #christ

Let’s celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord this Easter. I know it’s a lot of fun for our families and kids to color eggs and hide them and wait for the Easter Bunny to deliver all kinds of delicious candy and treats. However, this is not the true meaning of Easter as we all know. The story of the Easter Bunny and Eggs stem from pagan and/or non-religious traditions. Additionally, the word ‘Easter’ comes from the name of an Anglo-Saxon pagan goddess, “Eostre” who was celebrated in Spring. In Germany, the festival is called Ostern because there the goddess is named Ostara. I have always held on to Romans 8:28 for as long as I could remember. I always knew that no matter what I was facing, He would work it for good. It was one of the first verses I memorized for that very reason. The world and our natural senses seem to tell us one thing and the Word of God another. They are often in contrast to one another. Also, we often “see through a glass darkly” while God sees clearly. He is outside of time. He sees all things and knows all things because everything began with Him. https://patriciaadderley.com/fruits-of-the-holy-spirit-faith/ #fruitofthespirit #faith #scripture #allthingsworkforgood

Self-Control is a fruit of the Spirit. Actually, it is the ninth and last fruit of the Spirit. Most of us struggle with self-control in one area or another. But, what exactly is self-control? Self-Control Defined The Greek word translated as ‘self-control,’ egkrateia, is derived from two other Greek words—en and kratos. En means ‘in’ and kratos means ‘strength’ or ‘power.’ Usually, the Bible refers to self-control as ‘temperance,’ meaning self-restraint or moderation. Although, some people interpret self-control to mean abstinence. While this is the last of the fruit listed, it is certainly not the least. In fact, it can be one of the hardest to get a handle on. Also, it takes a lot of self-control to exercise the other eight fruit of the spirit. Click the link to read the full article #selfcontrol #fruitofthespirit #biblestudy #devotional

Faith is the seventh fruit of the spirit. We are able to be faithful to God because of the Holy Spirit working in us and because God is totally faithful to us and to His promises. This means that if He said it, He will do it. https://patriciaadderley.com/fruits-of-the-holy-spirit-faith/ #godisfaithful #fruitofthespirit #faith

Meekness in the Bible is the eighth fruit of the spirit and can sometimes get confused with kindness or gentleness when translating into English from the original Greek. This is because the Greek language has more precise words to describe these virtues. Meekness in the Bible Defined Most importantly, meekness refers more to attitude and the whole state of mind as well as actions. Meekness produces gentleness. While gentleness, is also known as kindness and refers more to actions. Both words stem from the Greek word prautes. It can also be equated with humility. Meekness does not connotate weakness like today’s society may think of it. But, instead strength. According to Bible Gateway Tools: ” Meekness is an active and deliberate acceptance of undesirable circumstances that are wisely seen by the individual as only part of a larger picture.” Bible Gateway Tools Read More at: https://patriciaadderley.com/meekness-in-the-bible-eighth-fruit-of-the-spirit/

My Heart, Christ’s Home: 100 Days of Joy and Strength in Jesus On Sale Now through March 31st- Ebook Only $.99 My Heart, Christ's Home: 100 Days of Joy and Strength in Jesus is a heartfelt and personal devotional with 100 Days of Original Christian Poetry. You will find the answers to questions such as “Does God really know me?”, “Who did God create me to be?” or, “Where is God when I need Him most?” as well as many more. I know I have asked myself these questions and more many times. So did David. He spent a lot of time running for his life from King Saul. He made mistakes but loved God with all his heart. Sometimes he was asking for God’s intervention in his current circumstances while at other times he was praising God. However, no matter how each Psalm started, they always ended with faith in God, worshiping God, and declaring His praises. This is often what happens to me. Much of the poetry comes out of what I am dealing with at the moment whether it be depression, struggling with my identity, frustration or joy, wonder, and strength. No matter what I am dealing with I know that I can turn to God and He will listen. He will hear my prayers. We all have various trials and things that we deal with that can be extremely difficult. However, if you reach out to God, He is right there waiting for you. God is with you every day even when it doesn’t feel that way. God is right in front of you ready to guide you. He created everything including you and me. If you look and listen your eyes, ears and your heart will be opened. It says in God’s Word, “in this world we will have trouble. But take heart. I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33). However, as long as I abide in Him and take my rest and my strength in Him, I know that I can get through anything. And, so can you. Throughout this book, I address questions such as “Does God really know me?” and “Who did God create me to be?” or “Is God really listening?” In My Heart, Christ’s Home, there are 100 poems that matter because they address many of our questions of faith including spiritual warfare, faith, hope, worship, identity, and more. God lives in our hearts if we ask him in. That’s why I called this book My Heart, Christ’s Home. It’s because that’s where he resides, He is just waiting for us to open up every room of our hearts and minds to His love and His healing power. Some of the poems are free verse and others rhyme. But all are tied to a specific scripture verse. My prayer for you, as you read this, is that this book will help draw you closer to God. Don’t be afraid to ask God the tough questions. He can take it. He loves you more than you can ever imagine. Also, get a free bonus copy of FINDING PEACE IN JESUS: AN ENCOURAGING 30 DAY DEVOTIONAL delivered to your email address. Faith, as a fruit of the Spirit, comes as a result of the Holy Spirit working in us. It is trusting God because He is faithful no matter what our eyes or ears tell us. You can trust Him and His Word. He never changes. He never changes. #fruitofthespirit #Godneverchanges #faithoverfear

Are You Like Joshua and Caleb in the Bible?
Are You Like Joshua and Caleb in the Bible? Which report will you give? Right now it seems like we are on the very brink of WWIII. Israel is at war and all of their enemies are surrounding them. The war in the Ukraine is still going strong as well. Every day there is another mass shooting when you turn on the news. It makes you want to go hide in fear or turn off the news because it can be…
