Saint Laurent 'Cassandra Medium Shoulder Bag' - $2,895.00

The history behind the 'YSL' Cassandra line is an interesting one - it's actually named after Adolphe Mouron Cassandre, the man who designed the iconic 'YSL' logo seen here on the bag's front.

A part of me can't help but wonder if Taylor felt kinship to a bag that also shared a name with Cassandra, of Greek myth fame who was doomed to utter prophecies that no one would believe. The poetry of that possibility really strikes me as it feels almost assured that the next (Taylor's Version) re-record release will be reputation - an album that of course has roots in a famed phone call gone wrong where Taylor told the truth and no one believed her. Too stretchy? Or totally plausible? Would love your thoughts!

Regardless, I love the sleek lines and chain detailing on this bag. But what I love most - if my eyes aren't deceiving me - is this gorgeous green leather colour.

it feels like people are taking the lyrics a little too seriously and literally ?? taylor said in the iHeartRadio intro to Fortnight that the album is hyperbolic, everything is overdramatic, all the mentions of forever, death etc. like she's calling it "tortured" ironically. she knows it's overly dramatic. she even makes fun of using typewriters. it's all a satire of poets themselves and how everything is so dire to them and they take themselves so seriously. she's telling us not to take it so seriously, that she's playing a part

i know a lot of people are going to think the takeaway from TTPD is that we know nothing to begin with and that’s how she wants it, but am i crazy to think the opposite? that she’s begging people to understand her and see her and know her? love her even when she isn’t what she seems? relate to her even when she’s messy and wrong and guilty? it’s like she’s bleeding on the page, even when it’s scary and bad and weird and embarrassing, all for us. always for us.

"This is a song that I think really exhibits a lot of the common themes that run throughout this album, one of which being fatalism, longing, pining away, lost dreams. I think that it's a very fatalistic album in that there are lots of very dramatic lines about, you know, life or death, "I love you, it's ruining my life," these are very hyperbolic, dramatic things to say. But it's that kind of album. It's about a dramatic, artistic, tragic kind of take on love and loss. And Fortnight, I've always imagined that it took place in this American town where the American Dream you thought would happen to you didn't, right? You ended up not with the person that you loved, and now you have to just live with that every day, wondering what would've been, maybe seeing them out, and that's a pretty tragic concept, really. So I was just writing from that perspective."
