If you have been following me for a while you’ll know how much I adore Alpha H! No matter how many products I try I always seem to come back to these. Why? Well it’s simple – they work! Keep reading to find out more about why these are my HG products…

Welcome back to all the long time followers and hello to all you fresh new faces that came over from Alpha H’s Instagram Story (oh and don’t forget to follow me on Instagram)! Filming that story was totally out of my comfort zone! I mean I was makeup free, had just woken up and I FILMED (I usually just write), but I loved it! I didn’t have much time to chat in depth about the products so if you wanted more information on the products you’ve come to the right place!

I first tried Alpha-H when I was going through a period of really bad skin. I started with the Liquid Gold and was blown away. I loved the results so I thought I would try the rest of the products and from there my love just grew. I now exclusively use Alpha-H products and while I do try other skincare, I substitute it into my routine. So if I am trialing a face wash and serum I will just replace the Alpha-H ones during the test period and then go back to them after. I went through my routine on the Alpha-H’s Instastories and thought I would continue here in depth.

Morning Routine

My morning routine is nice and simple mainly because I am not a morning person. I start with the Balancing Cleanser. This award winning cleanser is rich in Vitamin E and Aloe Vera to repair and hydrate the skin while also rejuvenating and moisturising the complexion. I absolutely love this cleanser and have found that it helps my dry skin in Winter and keeps my oily skin at bay in Summer. The creamy cleanser also smells amazing and it is being detergent free!

Following this I use both Vitamin B and C Serums from the Vitamin Profiling Kit. The Vitamin B Serum builds moisture and collagen which is really important to me. I find it also helps my pigmentation and redness. The serum is fortified with Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) that enhances the skin natural barrier while promoting suppleness and elasticity while helping diminish the appearance of uneven skin tone. The serum also contains Chia Seeds, Ferulic Acid , Copper Peptides and amino acids to create a kind of daily protein supplement for your skin. The Vitamin C Serum is blended with botanicals and hyaluronic acid to deliver superior antioxidant benefits. The intensive serum stimulates collagen production to assist in the improvement of radiance, elasticity and skin texture while also reducing pigmentation, refining the pores and provide ongoing protection against sun damage. I have used Vitamin C for about a year now and I find my skin is plumper, firmer, more radiant and look healthy. The serums penetrate the skin deeper than a moisturiser can and creates a beautiful complexion.

I then use the Multivitamin Super Cream – in case you can’t tell I LOVE Vitamins! The cream is literally amazing and does everything you could ever need in a moisturiser! It optimises the cell function and boosts the skin defence against environmental damage while boosting hydration. Fun fact – less than 1% of orally ingested vitamins reach your skin so this acts as a multivitamin in a jar that provides your skin with a much needed boost. This is a non-AHA cream is infused with vitamins A, B, C and E to combat skin fatigue and maximise skin health. The cream is further enhanced by Green Tea Extract and Centella Asiatica. I adore this cream and how it leaves my skin feeling hydrated, smooth and plump.

My final step in my morning routine is the Protection Plus Daily SPF50+ which is the most important step! The broad spectrum SPF50+ protects against UVA and UVB rays and future proofs against photo ageing. The suncream is non-greasy, non-whitening, sheer and nourishes the skin. The sun cream contains Pomegranate, Enzogenol and Mango Seed Butter to leave the skin silky, protected and beautiful. This is the first suncream I have used that doesn’t leave my skin feeling oily or greasy!

During The Day

I don’t only use Alpha-H morning and night, I also use the products throughout the day. I love the Daily Essential Vitamin Mist when I am feeling kind of blah and need a bit of a wake up. This uber refreshing mist also protects against blue light (from laptops, phones, etc) and urban ageing. The mist contains Moringa Seed Extract, Rose Flower, Roses Geranium and Orange essential oils. Oh and obviously vitamins A, B, C and E to top up vital antioxidant levels. I adore the Liquid Rose Gold Handcream and use it throughout the day. The cream contains 10% Glycolic Acid to speed up cell renewal and stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. This works in  conjunction with the 2% Lactic Acid that minimising the cuticle whilst conditioning the keratin and Vitamin B5 to rejuvenate the appearance of dry, rough and peeling nails. The cream also contains Olive Oil, Shea Butter, Avocado Oil and so much more. This creams is amazing and my hands have never looked better! I also use the Absolute Lip Perfecter throughout the day when I don’t have lipstick on. The multitasking lip treatment is a combined serum and balm infused with Peppermint, Wild Mint and Honeycomb Extract. The lip balm offers long-term hydration benefits and protection from environmental aggressors. Plus it smells amazing!

Evening Routine

My evening routine begins with the Balancing Cleanser. The cleanser also completely removes all traces of face and eye makeup which I love!  The 3-in-1 cleanser is uber creamy and works to correct the skin’s natural pH balance, replacing the need for an eye makeup remover, face wash and toner. I do still remove my makeup in the shower with a Makeup Eraser before washing my face, however this cleanser replaces the need to double cleanse.

Following this I use either the Liquid Gold OR the Micro Cleanse Super Scrub. I alternate these products in my evening routine as they are too strong to use every night and too strong to use together. The Liquid Gold (aka my HG product) is amazing! The NINE time award-winning product is a resurfacing treatment that uses a low pH delivery system to diminish wrinkles, pigmentation and sun damage. The treatment works as an overnight facial to brighten, revitalise and improves the appearance of the complexion. On the nights I use Liquid Gold I do not use any other products so that the amazing Liquid Gold (containing 5% cosmetic grade Glycolic Acid) can renew my skin. Every alternating night I use the Micro Cleanse Super Scrub. The supercharged scrub exfoliant is literally a one minute treatment that leaves your skin feeling amazing! The skin-loving ingredients, such as 12% Glycolic Acid, Jojoba Beads and Caffeine, enhance your complexion leaving it brighter, clearer, fresher and smoother. The scrub achieves a professional microdermabrasion result at home!! I love the zesty blend of Peppermint Oils and Cucumber that smell amazing and also help banish fatigue. This scrub leaves my skin feeling so silky smooth its amazing.

On the nights I use the Micro Cleanse Super Scrub I follow up with Vitamin A and Vitamin E (also from my Vitamin Profiling Kit). The Vitamin A 0.5% Serum is a potent, antioxidant skin renewal treatment that uses the exfoliating benefits of Vitamin A in a hydrating formula for a smoother, softer complexion by supporting the natural renewal process of thespian. This anti-ageing serum diminishes the appearance of uneven skin tone while improving the skin’s firmness, texture and tone. The best advice my Mum every gave me was that you are never too young to use anti-ageing products. I have been using them since I was 20 and my skin looks young and is firm. I follow this with the Vitamin E serum which provides hydration and enhances the skin’s natural barrier. The calming, hydrating qualities of Vitamin E also help to improve the appearance of rough, dry skin. It also softens trauma marks such a post blemish marking. I love how this serum has made my acne scars virtually invisible.

I then lather more of the Multivitamin Super Cream over the skin to lock in all the goodness. To finish up I use the Liquid Gold Firming Eye Cream which is an amazing eye cream that contains my favourite product – Liquid Gold! The eye cream is the ultimate topical corrector for the eyes with quadruple peptide technology, Lime Pearl AHA’s and skin brighteners alongside illuminating diamond particles for a soft focus photo finish.

As I hop into bed I top my lips with the Absolute Lip Perfecter. The Absolute Lip Perfector works as a powerful nighttime anti-ageing treatment that leaves my lips feeling soft, supple and smooth. I then rub some Liquid Rose Gold Handcream on my hands and doze off to sleep.

Uspa invited me along to Serene Day Spa to indulge in their signature facial and I cannot recommend it enough! My skin is glowing and I have never felt more relaxed!

There is nothing like a fantastic facial to leave your skin glowing, but imagine if that facial included a foot soak AND back massage as standard? Sounds unreal right?! Well Serene Day Spa have made it possible with their Serene Signature Facial using the beautiful Uspa products available in spa. All the products mentioned in this post are all Uspa products and are available online or at Serene Day Spa.

The facial begins with a soothing foot soak and scrub using the Wild Thyme and Peppermint Exfoliating Foot Scrub. The foot scrub relieves tired, hot feet and legs thanks to the cooling essential oils of Peppermint and Eucalyptus. The Aloe Vera and ground Pumice soften, hydrate and smooth the skin. This is followed by my HG body butter, the Cocoa Seed and Coconut Rich Body Butter. This moisturiser is uber thick and perfect for dry skin thanks to the Coconut Oil, Cocoa Seed Butter and Vitamin E.

This scrub is followed by the most relaxing back massage. Seriously if you are stressed, tense, need a relax go see the girls at Serene – they know what they’re doing! Anyway during my amazing back massage Hannah (my gorgeous skin therapist) used the Immortelle and Jojoba Revitalising Dry Body Oil. The body oil is a base of luxe plant oils that is blended with Immortelle Extract to visibly improve the appearance of dry and damage skin.

As if I wasn’t already relaxed enough it was now time to start the facial! The facial starts with a double cleanse using the Awaken Foam Cleanser and the Nourish Cream Cleanser to ensure the skin is free of excess oils, impurities, makeup and environmental pollutants. Both cleansers left my skin feeling cleanse, nourished and protected. The Nourish Cream Cleanser was my favourite as it soothed my redness and uber creamy. The double cleanse isn’t just like ‘ok here is a face wash rub rub rub’, but rather a massage. The product is massaged into the skin for the maximum benefit and the massage is simply amazing!

Once your face is cleaner than its ever been the Revitalising Facial Polish is applied. This duel action exfoliant brightens, smooths, renews and protects the skin. This is followed by the Rejuvenating Micro-Exfoliant which is a lightweight micro-exfoliant that restores freshness and clarity to the skin leaving it soft, smooth and luminous.

Now that my skin was radiating and every single pore was clean it was time for a mask. My skin gets a bit dry in winter so the Hydrating Mud Mask Therapy was applied as the active clay is designed to cleanse and hydrate dry skin. The combinations of clay, Sea Kelp and Cocoa Seed Butter removes impurities leaving the skin feeling plumped, balanced and soothed without drying. I was gifted this mask by Uspa a while ago and have been using it twice a week ever since. I absolutely love it as it is a clay mask that doesn’t dry my skin out!

Following the mask the Soothing Hydro-Mist is spritzed onto the skin to provide further hydration for tired and stressed skin. The mist tones, balances, hydrates, soothes and purifies – literally everything you could ever want in a mist making it my new go to! The Hydramax Elixir is the second last step in this amazing facial and is applied to with a massage focussing on your pressure points. The Elixir is highly nourishing and restores the oil balance to dry skin. The final step in this facial is the beautiful Intensive Moisture Cream. This moisturiser nourishes dry skin for a fresh, subtle appearance. It also smooths fine lines and boosts hydration levels.

I have honestly never felt so relaxed before. I literally felt like an entire weight had been lifted off my body! Following my treatment I enjoyed some tea and a snack in the plushest robe I have ever worn before (reluctantly) returning to the real world.

My love for Uspa products is now through the roof and knowing that I can get them from an amazing spa just around the corner makes it even better! Serene Day Spa has been a Scarborough icon for 20 years! It has just undergone renovations and the interior is to die for! Honestly the spa doesn’t look like much from the outside (nothing ever really does I guess), but once you walk in you no longer feel like you’re near anything. It is peaceful, quiet and absolutely stunning. The girls their have such fantastic knowledge of my skin, their products and everything they do, I felt so comfortable. The spa offers everything from massages to eyebrow tinting! If you are in Perth I would recommend this spa in a heartbeat.

Dear Avalee,

You’re two now. You’re walking more, talking more, playing more – you’re a proper human. The last two years have been the best two years of my life and you are the reason. We are in a very unique situation, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

I want to start all the way at the beginning. Your mom and dad were so in love that God decided to surprise them with the best gift anyone could ever ask for.  I still remember when your mom told me – we were in the car on the way to coffee and she just sort of blurted it out (after I nagged for like 10 minutes). I was overjoyed. I couldn’t wait to be the best aunt in the world. I went along to your very first ultrasound – it was your Mom, Dad and the crazy aunt (me). I got to see you growing, hear you heartbeat and that’s when I knew you were going to be the biggest blessing and bring so much love to all the lives you touch.

You were born on this day two years ago, the 20th of February at 8am on the dot weighing just 3.34kgs and measuring 48cm in length. That morning I woke up to a phone call from your Grandma telling me to HURRY to the hospital because you were coming. I don’t think I have ever gotten ready so fast. Just after 8:30 your mom was wheeled in with you in her arms and your Dad right by her side. Their hearts were so full. I looked at them and I knew that this was what they were meant to do.

I couldn’t believe you were finally here. You were the tiniest thing I had ever held, but as I looked at you I knew you were so worth the wait. They say that sometimes you meet a person who changes your whole world, someone who makes the darkest days light and the rainy days sunny. Someone who can always make you smile, someone who makes you realise what matters most in life. For most people its a friend or significant other. However my baby, for me, it is you. You grew up fast and the first year flew by. Within the blink of an eye you were crawling, walking, running, talking. You were turning into the most beautiful little girl with blonde curls and big blue eyes, a strong personality and a soft heart.

The first year of your life was great, but the second has been my favourite. You won’t remember much of these two years, but just know the impact you have had on my life has been amazing and I honestly don’t know where I would be without you. You are not mine, not by any means, but we have a bond that can never be broken. Your Mom and Dad decided to stay living at home because your Mom wanted to study. She’s always been fiercely intelligent and university was a dream that she is now so close to achieving. YOU gave her that extra motivation to be great.

You have such a long, beautiful life ahead of you and so much to look forward to. Never stop being yourself. I hope you spend your days laughing, loving life and fighting for what you believe in. You have so much good in your heart – never stop sharing it with the world. Embrace each day and change the world. Never forget who you are. I hope you never lose faith in who you are meant to be. Life isn’t always easy – boys will break our heart, you’ll fight with your parent, you may fail a class or two, but ALWAYS remember that when life gets tough I am here for you. Hard times teach you to be confident, strong and fierce. I have been through some hard times that I am sure I will tell you about one day, but they with the help of our beautiful family, those though times made me stronger than I ever thought I could be. I hope that you are able to do the same. You are NEVER alone.

I hope you know how much I love you right at this moment and how much I will always love you. I am here to wipe away those tears, hold your hand and help you see what beautiful little girl you are on the days you may forget. I am the luckiest Aunty in the world. Thank you for giving my life purpose.

Essano’s hand and eye creams are two creams I always recommend to people. They are beautiful, smell amazing and are beautifully packaged!

St Tropez is my favourite tan and I must admit I was a little sceptical about this mask but after trying it once I’m hooked! I absolutely love them.

Australia is hot in summer (duh) so water is an essential. Cheeki water bottles are sleek, beautiful and come in the cutest colours.

Have you ever spent an hour in the shower trying to painfully scrub off your fake tan? Or maybe you sat in a bath for 20 minutes and then rubbed yourself in lemon in the vain hope that it may work. Ooooh you know those awful exfoliating mitts or those scrubs that are so abrasive you get out the shower, dry yourself and have to get back in because your skin feels like its literally on fire? Yeah I’ve tried them all and I am sure most of you fake tan lovers out there have too! Its awful and gets pretty annoying after a while, but I finally found the solution – a simple scrub from Loofau.

I’m not going to lie to you, when I saw this scrub and the results I thought ‘surely not’, I mean its not everyday you see something that promises to instantly remove fake tan using all natural ingredients that are (obvs) vegan and cruelty free in a ‘ gentle, painless and easy way’. Loofau also pride themselves on leaving your skin with NO irritation. So when the gorgeous girls at Loofau offered to send me one to try I jumped at the opportunity!

It arrived just in time for my birthday (literally 3 days after it was posted out) so naturally I HAD to use it. When I prep for fake tanning I always exfoliate first and even though this exfoliator is for removing tan I thought that I would use it in my prep too (mainly because I couldn’t find my other one hahaha). I ripped open the packet and found that the exfoliator was more like a slime – weird, but cool. I popped the glove on that arrived with it and got to scrubbing. I lightly scrubbed my body and then went about my usual shower routine knowing the biggest test would be when I got out the shower. As mentioned before when I step out the shower after using scrubs my skin feels like it is on fire and I often have to get back in because it gets so itchy, however this time I stepped out the shower and my skin felt soft and moisturised (not sore or itchy at all!). When I applied the tan later that same night it went on so easily and has never looked so flawless – no patches, dark elbows; just perfection.

I know the scrub was great, but I didn’t know just how great until it came to removing the tan. I had the same tan on for 10 days and by the time I got around to removing it, it was very patchy. I popped the glove back on and got some scrub out the bag and simply did what I had done before – gently rubbed it all over so that I would get itchy and boom, my tan was gone! Its literally the first tan remover that has removed tan in one go! I mean check out these before and afters above – so good right!! I now need a truckload!

There is no doubt that colourful hair is a massive trend at the moment! There are so many versions too from pastal to bright, mermaid to peekaboo – the trends and techniques are endless. When L’Oreal invited me to try out their new Colorful Hair service at the beautiful Circles on Fitzgerald salon I just knew I had to go! Why? Just keep reading…

Colorful Hair is a new in salon service from L’Oreal! The temporary hair colour is applied by a hairdresser in a salon. There are seven shades that you can play with and because you are dealing with professionals they can make the colour as bold or as subtle as you like. The base shades are Pink Sorbet, Sunset Coral, Hypnotic Magenta, Electric Purple, Navy Blue, Caribbean Blue, Iced Mint, BUT the Colorful Hair Clear formula allows the colourist to tailor the shade to you so the colour can be lightened to create hundreds of different variations. The colour is temporary so you can basically try anything without a long term commitment because after 3-15 washes your natural hair colour will be back.

I wanted to go a light shade of peach so before I could have the Colourful Hair done my hair needed to be lightened. In order for my hair to stay in the best condition, the gorgeous colourist used a new treatment from L’Oreal called Smartbond. This scientifically formulated, three step treatment is designed to protect and strengthen your hair during colouring. The results boast stronger, shiner and softer hair – all of which I have seen with my own hair. Anyway, I’m getting a bit off track here! The first step of the treatment was used in the lightning phase and mixed in with the colour meaning you can go lighter, but keep you hair in perfect condition. The second step was done as a mask at the basin after the colour had been removed and the third step is a take home conditioner that you use once or twice a week.

Once my hair was gorgeous and light, the colourful hair was applied, it sat and was then washed out. The results were gorgeous (above right)! The colour lasted two washes and I was so obsessed I went back for a second application! The second time I opted for a much brighter colour and the colour expert mixed up some bright pink and peach and the results were amazing (above left)!

Circles of Subiaco was founded 20 years ago by the gorgeous Sharlene Lee who is a master colourist and hair wizard! She has now expanded her incredible salon and created The Circles on Fitzgerald. The Fitzgerald salon is relatively new and absolutely stunning! Its modern and basically just a dream!
