you sat across from him in your empty room, tears staining your face whilst you fiddled with his fingers.

it was silent. loud silence. one that the two of you sat comfortably in. one that the two of you wanted to sit in forever.

but tomorrow.

tomorrow would take that all away from the both of you.

"i'm gonna miss you," you whisper, voice cracking as you hold in a sob.

he sighs, interlocking his finger with yours to get your attention, "we'll see each other again, i'm sure if it," he then places his hand under your chin, tilting your head up to make eye contact with you, "we'll be okay,"

you bite your lip, examining his expression. searching for anything that would tell you exactly how he was feeling right now.

"i'm moving out of the country matt, it's not that easy,"

he leans in, placing a kiss to the tip of your nose, "can we please just make this last? while we can?"

you press your lips together, more tears escaping while you're stuck holding in your cries, "we're not gonna make it,"

"no,"

"we've talked about this,"

"y/n, stop it,"

"we're not gonna see each other again,"

"enough!" he snaps, "i hear it enough as is from everyone else, i do not need to hear it from you too,"

you stare at him, giving him a pleading look as you inhale shapely, sniffing in what threatened to come out.

"matthew," you breathe out.

his head falls to your shoulder, a cry falling from his lips, hands gripping firmly onto your hips.

"i know," he pauses, words muffled by your shoulder, "jesus christ i know,"

a silence falls upon the two of you once again. besides his muffled whines. you being his shoulder to cry on, your own emotions continuing to fall from your own eyes along with him.

"maybe in another universe," you mutter into his cheek before kissing it.
