Luke Davies’ act of kindness on one of his last flights

Three weeks ago, an elderly man dying of dementia flew with his wife from Sydney to their son’s home in Switzerland via Singapore for one final visit before he passed away.

Luke Davies, a 29-year-old Qantas flight attendant who was allegedly murdered alongside his 26-year-old partner Jesse Baird in Baird’s Paddington home on February 19, was also on the aircraft.

The elderly man’s loved ones knew the flight would be among his last moments in the sky. Davies, however, did not.

The way Davies cared for the man and his wife during the flight brought his crewmates to tears, according to a fellow cabin crew member, Brooke Walters.

Walters told this masthead Davies spent the entire eight-and-a-half hour flight from Sydney to Singapore – including his break – caring for this man and his wife, who were in first class.

Taylor Swift fans were briefly evacuated from the floor and lower bowl of Accor Stadium in Sydney after a huge storm with nearby lightning strikes hit the area less than an hour before the show was to begin on Friday evening.

A free electronics recycling service in Sydney has closed after donations of unwanted goods and appliances dried up.

Arnies Recon co-founders Lisa and Adrian Saunders announced on Sunday they were closing their Marrickville warehouse after three and a half years.

"It is with great sadness that we announce Arnies Recon is closing its doors effective immediately," the couple posted on Facebook.

"Since mid-February, we experienced drops in volume at our collections and drop-offs. After two and a half months of insufficient levels of supply, we could not continue."
