i know that with everything going on in the world and in the community, now might not be the best time to ask for mutual aid, but i’m in a really tight spot. i’m posting on this blog because it’s my social media account with the most followers, so it’s where i can potentially reach more people for help.

i was supposed to have gotten some money today, but that’s been delayed until some time next week. problem is, i’m running out of food for the weekend and my bank account is in the negative.

So.... There are modders out there who work to create stuff, stuff that you don't need to play the game and it takes them time and knowledge but you don't want to pay them? Okay. Maybe i'm the one who doesn't understand the problem? They work, they propose a product that you are in no way forced to buy but you don't want to? Then don't buy it? People donnt work for free what is this the 1660? What is the problem someone explain.

Let me make this clear nonny since u didn't want to show yourself. I am ALL for supporting people who make content. I do it all the time. I donate and I've pledged for many creators' Patreon. The issue I have is when EA (which I also dislike sometimes) told creators a while ago that you can't perma-wall content that is made for their games. And some creators do and in regards to the 1st decision EA made they decided to either 1. ignore the rules and start cussin out EA or 2. delete their shit instead of simply complying to the rules of the company where they're making unsupported add-ons for. Yes those that truly put their time and effort into making amazing CC and are kind to their supporters should and DO get their money. I hope you realize that. I also do want to make it clear that making CC for intellectual property that isn't your own shouldn't be your job. It can be a side hustle that can get you out of hard times but it shouldn't be full time job i.e. doordash. If you aren't taking care of yourself to make CC for people so you can get MONEY that's an issue.

I don't and will never have a problem with early access creators. They are complying with EA's rules. I have an issue with creators taking it out on the community and abusing rules and now they're upset bc they ruined it for everyone. Also why the FUCK would I buy $50 pixels. I'm sorry. I've never paid more than $20 for the sims or any dlc. I'm not paying $50 for some pixels that are going to clip. And cc that has been locked since 2019? When early access is supposed to be 2-3 weeks (I believe) and then you release for free. No MA'AM! Not around here. One last thing, personally for me the only thing I find FAIR to lock cc is when it's custom per someone's request. like commissions. So there you have it. I hope you have a blessed day!

As someone with a severe mental illness and also spent years working with people who also have mental health/addictions issues I think I have the grounds to say that some of you really really need to get psychiatric help based on your responses to this Patreon thing. I say that not in a mean or mocking way, but out of concern. If you don't shower or take care of your basic needs because you're making cc that's a serious sign that something is way wrong.

That being said, some of the shit that I've seen said is absolutely inexcusable and gross. I'm sorry but nothing about any of this is like the fucking Holocaust. Not even the "list" that people are so upset about. I would have loved to see that same outrage when people were actually being doxxed.

I really need the community to put their foot down. There are multiple creators saying that they’re going to continue Early Access. Listen, as a creator myself, I’ve had no issue with EA because I saw it as a middle ground to the perma paywall and people who did stuff for free.

But now people are feigning confusions, claiming that EA is not being clear when it comes to early access. It took me a few reads myself but now people are just reaching. I understand it can be hard to give up what people see as their main source of income but it's time to be serious.

"Regardless of whether they donate." That includes both Paywalls AND Early Access. Alot of creators say they rely on EA for an income but they're willing to risk years of work? If you're reported, EA can take you down at any moment for disregarding their TOS.

Yes we know it's your main source of income, yes we know you work hard but instead of the sob stories and guilt tripping...have faith in what you create. Have faith in the people who pledge to you.

If your content is good, the money will continue to come, sure a handful of people might stop pledging but these are the people who joined because they felt like they HAD to give you money in order to access your content. You shouldn’t want to make people feel like they HAVE to support you. They should feel like they WANT to support you because of who you are as a person and what you bring to the table.

You can also find other ways to bring in money;

donation goals with gifts

commissions

providing “behind the scenes” type content where you show someone how you made something

providing tutorials

There is wide range of what you can that doesn’t involve making the community feel like they OWE you.

As for the community...

It’s on you guys to push for your favorite creators to follow these new guidelines.  Because if they don’t; we’re back at square one where we allow people who: formulate false cease and desist orders, threaten to quit when they think the cash flow is gone, say they’re cutting ties with EA only to convert their objects to the game for the people who pay them, just TOXIC people in general will continue to thrive here and leech off the community.

Along with that, there’s a chance that the creators you like that are still doing early access or finding loopholes against EA’s wishes won’t be around a few months from now if EA is serious about holding creators accountable and from what I’ve seen, they are.

Please don’t let this continue. If you don’t want go back to square one where everyone pretends the TOS doesn’t exist or if you don’t want EA to take down your favorite creators; it’s on all of us to make sure everyone follows through.

Chances are your fav cc creators, the really big ones, won’t suffer too much from this. For the first few months consider donating to the lesser known- not as big of a following- creators. They are the ones that will be hit harder by this.

Also support doesn’t always mean money. Reblog their work on your main. Share it on Facebook groups, watch their YouTube video, comment on it, etc. the algorithm loves it and it’s FREE.

i think this whole early access thing is really shining a light on the true colours of some creators...

on the one hand you've got people who've always been ea or have been for a long ass time turning round and saying you know what? everything's free and i ain't going nowhere cos they love the game, creating and the community as a whole so why would they leave?

then on the other hand you've got people turning round saying "well it's not very clear i'm gonna continue until it is" or "uwu i have bills" or "even more uwu we're being made victims here and being lumped in with the same group who doxxed ppl blah blah and idk if i wanna stay around in a community like that" bitch.. you were never here for the community, you just wanted to make money off the people in said community, so byeeee~, don't let the door hit you on the way out!

No but LITERALLY I’m all for supporting CC creators. I’ve donated and given my money because I wanted stuff early or I just enjoyed their stuff so much I’ve donated. But to exploit a game to ou your bills??? On a game that’s not even yours?? Dawg, even tho EA pisses me off with their lack of effort. They’re right. You cant put ALL YOUR SHIT on paywalls. CC creators agreed that after 2 weeks you have to make ur cc FREE. Now some of y’all don’t and PAYWALLED ur shit from 2019 dawg. Ah yes, selling objs and blend files with cc meshed around sims’ rigs, weights and uv_1 transferred from an in game item, objects sized similarly to in game items, textures still 1024x1024 or 1024x2048, uv mapped using the sims uv template, posting a tutorial on your patreon showing people how to import your meshes. Surely ea can’t say anything about that
