The Sims 4: The Horror Legacy Challenge

I’m super excited to finally share this with you!

As a big fan of horror movies, I bring you the Horror Legacy Challenge! It’s a 7 gen legacy but I may add more in the future. Each generation is loosely based on or inspired by a different horror movie (or the book) but is either themed on the movie, character, multiple characters or a mixture of everything. I haven’t included any gen descriptions so that you can get as creative as you want!

You don’t have to have seen or know anything about the movies to play this challenge!

Overall rules (these rules apply to every generation):

Every generation must master their career and aspiration unless stated otherwise.

You may interpret the rules as you wish (for story purposes) but try to stick to them loosely. 

If a rule requires a pack, you can either ignore it or change it to something similar if you don’t have that pack.

You may cheat to buy and decorate houses and apartments.

At the start of each new generation, when the heir moves out and you’ve bought and decorated their home, you must set the household funds to 500. 

Each gen starts when the heir moves out or becomes a young adult but feel free to build up skills and complete objectives before then.

Normal life spans.

Generation 1- Child’s Play

Traits: Non-Committal, Hot-headed, Hates children

Aspiration: Public Enemy 

Rules:

Reach level 6 of the criminal career before quitting. Never have a career after this. 

Have either one child or twins of different genders. (Eg: 1 boy, 1 girl or a girl and a boy.) You may cheat for this.

Never marry, but be with the same partner for entire adult life.

Partner must be a Family Orientated sim.

Never have a close relationship with any children you have.

Master charisma skill

Have a voodoo doll bound to a family member.

Master archeology (gotta find those artifacts right? Heart of Dambala anyone?)

Generation 2- Scream

Traits: Unflirty, Good, Perfectionist

Aspiration: Party animal

Rules:

Master the writer career in the journalist branch.

Be an A student by the end of teen life.

Earn legendary on at least three party events (not weddings or dates).

Don’t woohoo until you’ve been an adult for at least 5 sim days.

Have at least 1 failed relationship as a teen.

Start the entertainer career as soon as you become a young adult but quit after level three to become a journalist. (A hint to Glen’s short career as a performer in Seed of Chucky). 

Decline every phone call.

Master the writing skill.

Generation 3: Scary Movie

Traits: Squeamish, Bro, Goofball

Aspiration: Joke star

Rules:

Master the social media career.

Never once do homework.

Live in Forgotten Hollow for at least 7 sim days.

Have frequent movie nights.

Must own a cat.

Grow a Cowplant and take the cake once. (This will not kill your sim but if you take the cake a second time, your sim will die so watch out! You don’t have to keep the plant after this objective has been completed.)

Master the gardening skill (yk that bit in the second movie with the ‘tree’.)

Get into at least 3 fights.

Generation 4: IT

Traits: Insider, Jealous, Geek

Aspiration: Leader of the pack

Rules: 

Master the wellness and herbalism skills. (Maybe you’ll make a Gazebo?)

Be the leader of a club.

End the club once becoming a young adult but restart it once an adult.

Divorce the first person you marry.

Eventually, marry your childhood best friend (must be a former club member).

Drastically change something about your physical appearance at some point in your life (after becoming a teen.)

Generation 5: Friday The 13th

Traits: Loves Outdoors, Music Lover, Erratic

Aspiration: Outdoor Enthusiast 

Rules:

Master the singing or/and the guitar skill.

Frequently visit Granite Falls or Selvadorada (or use the money cheat and constantly be on holiday so that you technically live there.)

Must own a pool (if you ‘live’ in Granite Falls or Selvadorada, you must make it look like a lake, pond or swamp.)

Master the fishing skill.

Have at least one sim in the household woohoo to death as an elder (they’ll die of exhaustion after woohooing too much.)

No career- make money from collectibles, painting or however you choose, but you can’t open a retail store or vet surgery.

Visit the hermit in Granite Falls at least once.

Generation 6: The Conjuring 

Traits: Romantic (I mean come on, Ed and Loraine are an adorable couple), Dog lover, Ambitious

Aspiration: Big Happy Family 

Rules:

Have a full household of you, a partner, five kids and a dog.

Master painting skill (Ed Warren was a painter, fun fact.)

Master the Secret Agent career (Closest to a paranormal investigator that I could get).

Master the parenting skill.

Complete the alien collection.

Master the vampiric lore skill.

Complete the MySims trophy collection.

Complete one more collection of your choice.

Generation 7: Paranormal Activity

Traits: Neat, Outgoing, Bookworm

Aspiration: Soulmate

Rules:

Master the photography skill.

Master the Tech Guru career.

Never have children unless you plan or continuing the legacy or I add more generations.

Must have a very ‘on-off’ relationship. So frequently break up and get back together with the same sim as many times as you like, but I’d say at least three times.

Divorce at least once. You may get back together or even remarry with the same sim. 

Your spouse or partner must die or disappear (they can return at some point if you want, but get creative with this rule!)

Move in with a sibling after your partner’s death or disappearance. It’s your choice how long you stay there.

Don’t forget to tag me if you play this! I’d love to see what you do with it. Just don’t claim the challenge as your own and all that. Enjoy!

i have never been more excited to post something!

i've been working on this nonstop to get this out as a big start of summer release. this set includes 3 cas backgrounds that i put so much love into, along with my biggest pose pack ever with 15 poses that work with the mirrors in these backgrounds (along with any other little dica backgrounds)!

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ: the backgrounds are a recolor of Little Dica's Old School Cas Room  so all credit goes to him! ALSO, for the cas poses, i used Redhead Sims' Iphone X CAS Accessory. you NEED this in your game as this is the phone your sims will pose with. the phone accessory will be found in the hats category (i couldn't find it at first lol) and the poses will use the left hand phone!

Octave Collection - Part 4

The Octave Collection is now officially complete. This fourth and final instalment focuses on your home office and bedroom dreams. This month flew past and I am happy that I finally got to create all of the items (well not all, but most of) I had planned. This is my largest set of items to date and I’m really happy with the end result considering what an open ended concept I begun with. 

I’m always trying to raise the level of the content I release here each month and this set was no exception. This month I experimented with 3D sculpting for the very first time to create all of the fabric pleats and folds you see in the bedding. The first attempt looked like an old wrinkled face and got scrapped, but the 2nd attempt worked great and became the final texture. I’ll be using this new found skill a lot more in the future for a special set I have planned.

There are a few special things to note with this set, in particular with the full height modular bookshelves. I have created a system that fits perfectly within the shortest wall height and accompanying extension pieces to extend to the medium and tallest wall heights. I have created slots for the extensions to perfectly snap to, but there is an in game glitch that will delete items that are slotted on to an item that is also slotted onto another item. i.e. the bottom shelf, clutter and extension piece stay, but all of the items slotted onto the extension piece will disappear when you re open the lot. It doesn’t happen with every occurrence, so I really can’t predict when it will and wont happen, so I advise that if the items do disappear, to instead raise up the extension piece with the TOOL mod instead of slotting to the lower bookshelf and all the clutter you place will remain (FYI the bookshelf is 2.85 high). I will have an overview video out to cover this issue if my ramblings here weren’t clear, it should all make sense in the video out later this week.

The items are base game compatible with the exception of the radiators. These should show up and be decorative items if you only own base game, but for full functionality they  require the Seasons EP.

While playing the Challenge I created a few useful tools to randomize my gameplay with and be able show the results/process (can't cheat that way haha). This tool is easy to record or screenshot!

This is also a organized and pretty way. Have their careers, aspirations, worlds etc randomized or you can ask yourself which pack you should use for a build or CAS and give that wheel a spin!
