Its definitely a simple system the books manage to explain in the least cohesive way. Its not too bad if you look up some tutorials on YouTube. The challenge dice are the real tricky part of the 2d20 system from Modifius, the use of D6s with different faces is a struggle, buying real dice certainly helped.

I hope someone else can give more advice

Re: blorbo from my research, here is my favorite ever case study. I'm obsessed with it.

Summary:

- Guy presents to neurology with muscle issues, very clearly has something going on but diagnostic tests are inconclusive

- History is mostly unremarkable. Key word, mostly. He drinks four liters of plain Earl Grey tea per day. For context this is nearly twice the recommended daily fluid intake. All fluids, to be clear, not just tea. He only drinks tea tho

- Bergamot is known to be phototoxic in high doses (reacts badly on your skin with sunlight)

- APPARENTLY nobody previously has consumed enough of it for it to be widely known that it is also, apparently, mildly toxic to ingest in high doses

- Guy starts drinking plain black tea again. Only 2 liters this time (he didn't have a medical reason to drink that much tea, he just liked it) and so now he's fully recovered

My brain is too mushy right now to write a proper meta but. Do you guys also see the significance of Johanna’s characterization in that clip we got. It’s beyond just ‘oh, funny, she’s being chaotic now!’ (Even though it is). This is the confirmation of five years worth of theories that this is Johanna’s default behavior, this is her modus operandi. It’s the confirmation that she’d been dialing herself down since becoming a mother because she thought that that’s what she had to be for Hilda, and that after TMK that inner conflict of hers got resolved. It’s confirmation (pretty much, though this whole post works on ‘pretty much’ basis) that she used to be just like her daughter and do the most insane things imaginable. That she probably had a childhood that looked just like Hilda’s, adventure wise.

Idk man, I just love it when spending years peeling back the layers of this show’s writing actually leads to right conclusions
