There we some nights where one just needed a post party snack. And tonight happened to be one of those nights. So as Emma entered the penthouse (shoes in hand so as not to wake anyone who might be sleeping), she bee-lined for the kitchen and the leftovers she knew had to be in there. 

Their new chef, while not quite as good as their one in Paris -- but then he was gorgeous on top of being amazing, was quite talented. She enjoyed experimenting with different things. Like cultural fusion. So if Emma was lucky, there might be some of the Japanese Style Street Noodles she prepared the night before still tucked in the back. Provided, of course, Henry hadn’t come by and gotten to them first.

Brothers...

Entering the kitchen, she turned on the light and was surprised to find she wasn’t alone. “Daddy....what are you doing awake?”

"Great, because if there were I could promise you consequences would come to whomever tried it.” He wasn’t about let the battle for school dominance between Monet and JC effect him when he wanted no part of it and had other things to deal with in school and outside of it.

“Sure, I don’t mind the shopping. I could use some retail therapy myself.”

"Excellent!” Looping her arm through Max’s, Emma led him away from the school and towards the rest of the city -- where a multitude of stores were just waiting for their patronage. Quite literally. People like the two of them...when they decided to spend...most boutiques bent over backwards to make sure their money was spent there. 

But first...a pre-shopping caffeine stop.  And for that, there was no place like 787 and their iced coquito latte. Maybe paired with a quesito? “Henry introduced me to the place.” Because leave it to her brother to find the one Puerto Rican coffee shop on the Upper East Side. “You’re going to love it. Promise.”

This was a complicated world that she lived in, one that he knew well but also didn’t like at times. The rivalry and bitchiness that went on could be a lot but it was the world that he was born into and called his own and he had to survive in it somehow. What was nice was being around people who got it and relaxed a little.

“Of course,” Aki smiled with a nod. He was sure it could be but there was also the drama that followed their crowd around, not to mention Gossip Girl who liked to do nothing but cause more problems. So here he was contemplating on offering, he knew it would be find with Audrey and Max.

“She is but I’m sure she can loan me out for one night,” he teased. He wasn’t going to bring up Max, not yet. “If you prefer someone else I’m sure I can find someone but I’m willing to escort you.”

“Oh, thank you! Thank you thank you thank you!!!” With an excited grin, Emma grabbed Aki’s arm, nearly spilling her drink in the process. No way did she want anyone else. Considering the amount of time one had to spend with their escort -- both in preparation and on that night -- there was no one Emma would rather have by her side. 

Now if they could just convince Cici to join in the fun as well...

“I promise, we are going to have the BEST time. Archaic practices aside. It’s a good thing I look AMAZING in white.” And she did. But then again, it was hard to find something Emma didn’t look amazing in. 

“So how are things going with you and Audrey? I haven’t really had a chance to see her yet since I got back...”

Evie followed her brother’s gaze to the marks on her arm, the bruises that, if one looked close enough, mimicked fingers. Like someone had grabbed her and hard. Pulling her sleeves down in an attempt to cover it, she waved it off as she moved towards the bar. “It’s nothing. Just a bit of...bedroom fun. You know, the kind you want to know nothing about...” It was as good as answer as any, as what brother wanted to hear about his sister’s sexcapades. 

Pouring herself a drink, Evie took a long sip before looking back to her brother. Desperate to change the subject, she looked around the apartment. “Where’s Henry and Blair? I brought all these presents and I have no one to give them to....”
