काशी में कबीर परमेश्वर के विरोधी साधुओं-काजी-मुल्लाओं ने षड़यंत्र रचकर तीन दिवसीय भोजन-भंडारे(लंगर) के झूठे पत्र परमेश्वर कबीर बंदीछोड़ जी की ओर से डाले थे। जिस कारण से 18 लाख भक्त तथा संत व अन्य व्यक्ति भंडारा खाने आ गए थे। परमेश्वर कबीर बंदीछोड़ जी स्वयं दूसरा रुप केशव नाम के बंजारे का धारण करके नौ लाख बैलों के ऊपर बोरे(थैले) में रखकर उनमें पका पकाया कई प्रकार मिठाई-भोजन के साथ कच्ची-सूखी सामग्री भी भरकर लाए तथा काशी नगर के चौपड़ के बाजार में विशाल भंडारा चला था।
