Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: “How many people have caused misery to their own children, in this world and in the Hereafter, by neglecting them, not disciplining them, encouraging them to follow their whims and desires, thinking that they were honouring them when they were in fact humiliating them, that they were being merciful to them when in fact they were wronging them. They have not benefited from having a child, and they have made the child lose his share in this world and in the Hereafter. If you think about the corruption of children you will see that in most cases it is because of the parents.”

Aa’ishah, رضي الله عنها, narrated a Hadeeth in which she said that if the Prophet, صلي الله عليه وسلم had lived to see how women have started to behave, he would have prevented them [from going to the mosque] as the women of the Children of Israel were prevented.” I said, to ‘Umrah, “Were they prevented?” He said, “Yes.”

Praising Allah for Calamity 🌹 | 🥀

It is reported that Shurayḥ – رحمه الله – said, “If I am afflicted with a calamity, I praise Allāh عزوجل for it four times: I praise Him because it wasn’t worse than it was, I praise Him when He gives me the patience to bear it, I praise Him for enabling me to say al-istirjā’ (‘To Allāh عزوجل we belong and to him we will return’; see Al-Baqarah: 154-156 ) in hope of a great reward, and I praise Him for not making it a calamity in my religion.”

Imaam Ahmad رحمه الله said:

“The graves of Ahl Al-Sunnah who committed major sins are gardens (from Paradise) whilst the graves of the heretics (adherents of Bid’ah) who were ascetics are pits (from the Fire). The sinners from Ahl Al-Sunnah are the beloved (awliyaa’) of Allah ‎ﷻ, whereas the ascetics of Ahl Al-Bid’ah are the enemies of Allah ‎ﷻ.”
