About the AO3 "No Guest Comments for a while" warning

If you're not following any of AO3's social media accounts you might be in the dark as to what kind of "spam comments" have engendered this banner at the top of the site:

These spam comments have been posted about a great deal on the AO3 subreddit for the past couple of days. Initially they comprised a bunch of guest (logged out users) bot comments that insulted authors by suggesting they were using AI and not writing their own fics. Some examples, from the subreddit:

But it then escalated to outright graphic porn images and gifs being posted in comments, again by logged out 'Guest' accounts. Obviously, I'm not going to give examples of those, but between these two bot infestations, AO3 has clearly decided to act and has temporarily closed the ability to post comments for users who are not logged in with an AO3 account.

Unfortunately, this means that genuine readers who don't have an AO3 account won't be able to leave comments on fics that they enjoy.

If you are a genuine reader who doesn't yet have an AO3 account, I strongly suggest getting yourself on the waiting list for one. More and more AO3 authors are now locking their fics down to registered users only - either due to these bot comments or concerns about AI scraping their work - which means you're probably missing out on a lot of great stuff.

Hopefully guest commenting will be enabled again at some point soon, but I suggest not waiting until then. Get yourself on that list.

Wait times are going to be longer than usual at the moment, due to the current Wattpad purge [info on Fanlore | Wattpad subreddit thread], but if you're in line, then your invite will come through eventually.

I don’t want Eddie pining over Buck and Tommy at the wedding while he is with Marisol.

I want Buck to actively realise his attraction to Tommy was just that attraction.

I want him to realise his jealousy was because he felt like he was being left behind by his best friend whose attention is usually 100% on him.

I want him to tell Tommy he wants Eddie he just needed to catch up.

I want Eddie to realise he doesn’t have to be with a woman.

I want Eddie to realise he has choices and he doesn’t have to listen to that voice in his head telling him what he ‘should’ do/be.

I want Eddie to know he can have boundaries and his body is his and he gets to choose who and when he gives it to someone else.

I want Eddie to think about who he actually loves and trusts and has built an entire family with.

I want them to break up with their respective partners and then sit down and talk about it.

I want them to lay their cards on the table about how they love each other more than anyone else (besides Christopher).

I want them to cry and and feel every single bit of what they need to feel to get to a point of being able to be together without all the bullshit their minds scream at them.

I want them to build a relationship on such a solid foundation that nothing can tear them apart.

I don’t want a half assed drunken confession I want them to actively choose each other. To fight for each other.

Six years they have been building this thing between them let them go into it knowing exactly who they are and what they want.

Right i've slept on it for a few days, had a think about it, why I didn't like the main event of wrestlemania 40 night two with Cody Rhodes, and why I dislike Cody Rhodes' entire character right now.

I dislike Cody Rhodes as a babyface because he does not come off as a babyface, he does not act like a babyface he does not look like a babyface.

The perfect example to me is Stone Cold Steve Austin, did Austin come out with a great looking suit, perfect teeth, perfectly cut hair, all this pyro all this grandeur all this over the top shit? No Austin just came out, said fuck you and kicked ass.

Cody Rhodes is not a working mans champion despite how much he wants to be like his daddy, he is the chosen one, he is the golden boy, he is the one that WWE want to be on top, he is the John Cena the Hulk Hogan the Shawn Michaels, he isn't the Daniel Bryan he isn't the Bret Hart he isn't a natural babyface.

And on top of all of that, the absolute masterbatory self congratulations WWE is doing with him, the straight up propaganda WWE is doing right now with Cody Rhodes is utterly disgusting, you had the main event match up being such autofellatio of WWE, with all these ex-stars coming out to help the new guy, LOOK GUYS ALL THESE OLD STARS LOVE CODY YOU SHOULD TOO! Then you had Cody at the end of it all cuting this big long self congratulatory promo thanking BRUCE FUCKING PRICHARD and Triple H, as if WWE is this greatest thing in the world, when i'm sorry no it isn't.

Especially when WWE is in the midst of being fucking SUED FOR SEX TRAFICKING I don't think it's the right time to be doing all this "Wow guys, isn't WWE so fucking awesome and cool!" but of course they're going to do that so you don't think about Vince McMahon shitting on a woman's face and not letting her clean it until he finishes fucking her.

It's all so disgustingly obvious and self sucking off right now and I can't stand it, people eat it all up, people fucking just eat it all up and actually think "they" changed it with the We Want Cody shite, you people are fucking insane and it's absolutely insane that people just like this babyface Cody Rhodes, this man is not a good guy at all!
