Long time no vector! Actually, it hasn't been terribly long -- I did two vector pieces prior to this in this week, but I'm not happy enough with the results to post them here. This, however, is an exception. Jingles has a cute and simple design -- two things that scream "you gotta draw me in vector". The prompt was to draw a character for the person who posted above you as a plushie, toy, or doll. People who remember my vector art of Subeta pets know that I love drawing nostalgic pets way too much. I initially wanted a clean and crisp look for Jingles, but I experimented with a few things, and ended up with a slightly patchworked doll.

This character already existed before I found out about 「ホシの子メーカー」(Star child maker) on Picrew (picrew.me/image_maker/4893), but when I did, I realised that I was able to recreate Stella, albeit with an upgrade to her clothes. This is how I imagine Star Child Stella to look like!

Goretober 2018: Day 24 - No Mouth / Eyes

As I told my friend penguinpyro, I can't not draw her for this prompt! Aruhito canonically has Van der Woude syndrome, which presents with syngnathia (adhesion of the maxilla to the mandible through fibrous bands). This leads not only to her hollow maxillary lip but also to her shortened jaw (so no, it's not just bad anatomy.) www.deviantart.com/wikipedia/a… She's the girl on the left! I haven't drawn her since that particular artwork, which is a shame since I used to be very invested in her story. I was debating between drawing a bust of her, but I already have a beautiful one drawn by elestrial.

I've really wanted to do something like this for a long time now, but I always wondered if it were possible for me to pull off with JUST my inking pens. I quite like the effect I ended up with. Also, hey, I've never actually drawn X before! X's original design by Kuumone.

Goretober 2018 - 13 - Venomous

I was initially going for a composition involving snakes, but because I suddenly had a few more ideas for Dr. Sebastian de Paris, one of my characters that I've never drawn prior to this prompt, I wanted this day's entry to involve him, instead. He's known as "Snakeman" among his students, due to rumours that he is part-snake, a vampire, or both. While it's not clear exactly what he is, he does suck on the life liquid of Corvo, a war Sychobunn refurbished and employed by Medici del Mondo. While the contents of their weapons, cranial vials, and blood are toxic to most species, it seems to energise Sebastian if he regularly schedules sessions with Corvo. Corvo’s original design and the Sychobunn closed species by AS-Adoptables.

I had the rough sketch for Raine in my paediatrics tickler for a few days, but I haven't had the energy, motivation, or time to draw until recently, after drawing all twelve elevator shots for the background. I initially planned to draw the hallways, too, but I decided that it'd take me more than a month to release the next parts of the story if I did that. Doing all those elevators gave me a lot of perspective practice, though, so I have no regrets. The hallways are taken from multiple public domain/CC0 websites. When I can dig up the URLs, I'll edit them into the description. Tried something slightly different with the soft shading in this piece. I submitted something with a very similar title ("Who killed the rose?") in another account of mine many years ago, featuring Chiharu and Makoto (then known as Momiji.) My good friend Peng told me that it was probably an ill choice to make Gloria's shirt have a green pattern, but I actually like the "rose" effect that it lends to her wound. This is probably the first time I've drawn Vera in full-colour. Some father and daughter bonding on stage! This was quite challenging to draw, and I had to use a lot of references for this piece, but it was a lot of fun. I wish I can draw more for this month, but our finals month started (I already finished two final exams so far,) so I have to try my best to focus on studying until the last week of May.
