How different shapes can be implemented into a game, by RPG.
Triangles:
Triangles can be used as spikes, or traps, in games where if the player stands on it they either take damage progressively or die immediately.
They can be used as some sort of obstacle, that the player is expected to overcome; though this might not be the usual, triangular obstacles could be used to exploit movement in games with an example being in CS:GO where triangular shaped objects can be "surfed" off of (surfing is movement based on momentum, where the player gains more and more based off the way they go on and off the ramps).
In a game like Deltarune, the player has the ability to dodge certain objects/projectiles; this ability could feature many different shapes, but is more relevant to triangles as triangles tend to be colloquially referenced with danger and immediacy.
Circles:
Circles could be used as moving obstacles, where the player can be ejected/moved to another part of the map; which allows the player to pick alternate routes.
Circular items could be included as food items or pickups that increase health; such an example can be seen in the GMod modification "edible food pack" where you can eat a wheel of cheese or a cookie to increase the players overall health.
Circles can be used as objects for building, and an example would be the The Forest where you can use a roll of tape to create explosives. Also in its successor Sons of the Forest, you can craft certain items using wire; and it can also be used to power things like solar panels.
Squares:
Squares can be used as objects for building, a simple example would be Minecraft where the player can build simplistic isometric structures out of square blocks such as log blocks.
Map design in games relies majorly on the use of cubes/squares, especially in the grey-boxing phase of map development as it helps envision where things will be placed.
In character design, squares can be used to form pixel-art characters; as pixels are squares. This style of character is more formatted towards use in 2D isometrics as 3D games will make otherwise square-based characters cubic.

Different shapes, and what they convey in their appearances, by RPG.
Triangles: Triangles are used a lot in everyday life, but some of the uses could be considered subliminal. An example of this is the use of the "all-seeing eye" within the Illuminati; where they use the triangle to represent power and irregularity, with the circle (the eye) being used to show that they are omnipresent and can see everything transparently. In mathematics, triangles are the base shape for figuring out anything to do with angles; triangles will always be able to fit into any shape because of its total amount of interior angles (180 degrees).
Circles: Circles can be presented as equal, because of its lack of vertices; and represents the current or flow of everyday life within Earth. In fact, circles are majorly prominent in everyday life as we live within a Solar System where circles represent planets. Atoms and particles in elements create the Earth's biology and ecosystems.
Squares: Squares appear very integral, they cast strength and rigidity. Its uses also hold up to its stereotype, such as major use in the construction industry. Because of its 4 vertices, squares are also very equivalent and provide reassurance when a task needs to be done; especially when the task is of importance or is urgent. In a real life case, and one that isn't regarded a lot, square-shaped radars were and are used to save pilots lives from being targeted by a multitude of munitions; of which more commonly are ship-to-shore, air-to-air, surface-to-air and man-portable missiles.

Texture and model libraries, and my personal opinion on them, by RPG.
Megascans infests Resident Evil Village (quixel.com)
Building the dark future of Cyberpunk 2077 with Megascans (quixel.com)
My personal opinion on the use of model and texture libraries:
Texture and model libraries can help reduce the time taken to develop a game's level/s, given that tools like Quixel Bridge and Sketchfab provide 3d assets at a click of a button; and with the case of Quixel Bridge, it can be done within a program like Unreal Engine.
For me, using these libraries isn't specifically considered "cheating"; but can be considered as an easier alternative for an otherwise tedious task of creating a 3d asset, and it enables developers to focus more on being tasked with detailing the playability of the game instead of just asset creation/implementation.

Quixel Bridge, an explanation, by RPG.
Quixel Bridge is an application that allows support for the exporting, importing, browsing, searching and downloading of 3D Megascan assets.
The application enables the end user to have their Megascans put into a ZIP folder, so that it is easily accessible in design software like Unreal Engine.
Megascans can be downloaded straight off the press, allowing for quick and simple (and high quality/poly) assets to be imported directly into the project file or application without the need for locating the file, and then dragging and dropping it into the application/project.

Real-time animation in UE5, by RPG.
youtube
Three things that I have learnt, and taken inspiration of in the creation of "In Vaulted Halls Entombed":
The use of MetaHuman. It creates a face-scan realistic to the aspects of the human face, and could be a good asset to use in the future; especially for cinematic-based prospects such as those of cutscenes and trailers.
The use of subordinates, hierarchy within the development process; making the process of game/level/animation formatting much less tedious and allowing for people to focus on one/two things saving someone from having to overwork themselves.
Utilising realistic assets, such as those from Quixel Bridge and Sketchfab; plus animations from places like Mixamo. Makes the environment more lifelike and gives a certain needed depth within an animation or game; especially games where the levels are designed to be expansive or have hidden details that require closer attention.
Conclusively, animation development can be crucial to game development; but in itself, understanding the basis around animations signifies that it can be used within any industry whether that be advertising, video editing, content creation, the automotive sector and film production.

5 varying types of video games, listed and categorised: Clustertruck. By RPG.
Clustertruck (2016) - Platformer - Developed by Landfall Games and Published by tinyBuild.
youtube
Clustertruck is platformer released initially on the 27th September 2016, by the Swedish independent studio Landfall Games, for the PS4, Xbox One, Mac OS, Linux; and in 2018, for the Nintendo Switch.
In the game, the player controls the character from a first person perspective; the objective is to be able to complete the level by dodging obstacles, truck pileups and truck crashes.
For each level, the player is scored based on how fast they can get the level complete; with additional points being scored on "style points" which can be achieved if the player does a series of various stunts (such as different types of jumps, close-calls and distance achieved).
Points scored in these levels can be used as a de-facto virtual currency, where the player can obtain different abilities; such as those of the double jump and zipline perks.
As an April Fools Joke, the development team decided to release a spinoff demonstration version of Clustertruck called "Supertruck"; this had the same dynamics and movement as Clustertruck, but the artstyle and palette of Superhot.

5 varying types of video games, listed and categorised: Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. By RPG.
Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (2007) - First Person Shooter (FPS) - Developed by Infinity Ward, Published by Activision
youtube
Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is the fourth installment in the Call Of Duty series. Unlike its predecessors, it broke away from being a WWII-themed game and took on the theme of modern combat instead. Developed over the course of 2 years, it was initially set for release for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Windows and was ported over to the WII as "Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare - Reflex Edition in 2009.
The character in game can be poised in one of three stances: prone, crouching or standing, each of which affecting the players movement, accuracy and stealth capabilities.
The game is the first in the COD lineup to feature modern-looking weapons, also introducing multiplayer mechanics such as killstreaks where a player can obtain a certain ability in game when they have reached a certain kill threshold without dying.
Team-based and deathmatch-based matchmaking is featured in different modes on various maps. Each mode has an objective that the player is expected to complete, using unique and variable strategies to make sure they reach the objective. Players have the options to call in UAV recce scans, airstrikes and attack helicopters when they reach three kills, five kills and seven kills as killstreaks respectively.

5 varying types of video games, listed and categorised: CS:GO/CS:2. By RPG.
CS:GO/CS:2 - First Person Shooter (FPS) - Developed by Valve and Hidden Path Entertainment:
youtube
(Above) ESL One Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2022, CS:GO.
CS:GO, "Counter-Strike Global Offensive" shortened, is a First Person Shooter that is categorised as the fourth installation in the "Counter-Strike" franchise.
Development spanning more than 2 years, CS:GO was initially released for OS X, Windows and PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles in 2012. Later, in 2014, it was fully released for Linux users.
The basis around the game revolves around two teams, terrorists and counter-terrorists; where they are set aside in different objective-based gamemodes. In the game, the most commonly played gamemode and the one with the most recognition is that of one where you are tasked with the defusal of a bomb; where you either, as a terrorist, get the bomb planted at one of two sites (A and B) or as a counter-terrorist where you attempt to either stunt the time taken to plant the bomb or to defuse the bomb whilst its armed.
The game boasts an active esports scene, with competitions and tournaments occurring internationally with teams competing for large cash prizes (of which contribute to total team winnings). With this, the game also has a loyal fanbase; with the amount of monthly and annual players averaging as the most played on Steam, and one of the most played games in general.
CS:GO, and CS:2, both have a matchmaking capability allowing players to simultaneously play together on Valve dedicated servers. Additionally, there are server lists that allow players to join onto custom servers; most commonly those of the "surf", "prison break" and "1v1 arena" categories.
CS:GO underwent a major update, and overhaul, on September 28th 2023 where the game was modernised using the Source 2 engine; with this came a avalanche of new additions, changes and abilities, some of them listed here:
Smoke grenades, though previously being completely solid animations, were changed to a dynamic version in CS:2 where if the player shot or threw any type of grenade you would be able to see through a hole that it would create.
A lighting overhaul, increasing the shadows and appearance of certain things in game; notably the casting of shadows and lighting on weapon finishes and on materials. With this, gun skins within CS:2 increased in price due to looking better in CS:2 than in CS:GO.
Overhauls of maps, specifically Dust II and Mirage; but later Vertigo and Nuke.

5 varying types of video games, listed and categorised: Assetto Corsa. By RPG.
Assetto Corsa - Driving simulator - Developed by Kunos Simulazione:
youtube
(Above) Graphics-modified Assetto Corsa utilising "Custom Shaders Patch" (plugin: Content Browser for AC).
Assetto Corsa, or in Italian (lit.) "Racing Setup", is a racing-driving-simulator that allows for a more realistic experience to a driving game; instead of the usual arcade-type racing games like Forza or Need For Speed.
Assetto Corsa is unique in that its development team actually encourages modifications, they find that it modernises the game and makes it more appealing to both advertising and the general player base. Kunos's game includes multiple real-world tracks and circuits that players can use, and cars from various brands that are included in the base game. DLC content is not near-and-far, with plenty of options to expand on the existing vehicle list in game; additionally, with the use of modded vehicles you can test and drive other vehicles that wouldn't regularly feature within the game.
Graphics mods, and setting regulation is made easier with certain plugins; such as that of the aforementioned "Custom Shaders Patch" within Content Browser that helps the setting up of filters, LUT profiles and customised weather/timescale settings. Also, configuring steering wheels is simplified and settings can be changed on the fly; the Logitech G29 and Fanatec series of peripherals can be adjusted to dynamically within its own categories in CSP.

Examples of Health Kit and Ammo consumables, in games, by RPG.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R, civilian and army medkits:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In game, its used by Spetsnaz (Special Forces) and military stalkers to treat battlefield wounds; stops and prevents heavy blood loss and enables a much faster way to heal than the normal civilian medkit. However, the army medkits (in blue) are much rarer and more expensive.
The civilian medkit can be purchased from all merchants and also be looted from other stalker's inventories. In Shadow of Chernobyl, this specific health kit (the one in orange) only refills half of the healthbar in game; which is just enough to counter 1 or 2 bullets.
Scientific medkits (ones in yellow) are usual found at bodies of expert stalkers, specifically Ecologist or Monolith stalkers who are deceased. They can also be purchased from Sakharov after Lab X-16 has been shut down, and can be rewarded to you Barkeep after obtaining the Meat Chunk artifact.
CS franchise: CS:GO, CS2 Healthshots/Medi-shots:
Tumblr media
(Above) Healthshot in CS2.
Tumblr media
Medi-shots/Health-shots can exclusively be obtained in Co-op Strike, Deathmatch, Danger Zone and Arms Race; and it regenerates 50 percent of the players health when used, and it only works once.
In Co-op Strike, the player will respawn after death with 3 in their inventory and can carry up to 4 of them.
There were some notable bugs with the medi-shot, such as that of the "knife" bug; where if you dropped a medi-shot in game and immediately switched to your knife, then picked up the medi-shot and dropped it again it would display the message that would usually come up when you have dropped your knife and display your medi-shot with the name "knife".
Grand Theft Auto franchise "hit points"/health pickups (and not as a statistic) (multiple games):
Tumblr media
In GTA V, health pickups are dotted around the map.
Between GTA II and GTA IV they were indicated as rotating health icon with a icon of a heart
In GTA IV, health pickups are shaped as first aid kits.
In GTA San Andreas, health can be replenished by 20 percent when you enter an ambulance or by 40 percent when you enter the hot dog van.
Many things impact the player's health in GTA; such as: being beaten, being set on fire, being hit by a vehicle, being thrown from a vehicle, being shot, being stabbed, falling from high buildings, consuming drugs or alcohol excessively, smoking, weapons such as tear gas/VX gas grenades, explosives/bombs, drowning, getting caught in propellers, tumbling and being crushed...plus others.
In GTA II, health pickups can be obtained by crushing certain types of vehicles.
In GTA III, heath pickups can be gathered from outside hospitals and are scattered around Liberty City; usually in recreational locations such as rest stops, parks and shopping centers. Replenishing health to 125 percent can be done by hiring prostitutes.
GTA Vice City, health pickups mainly spawn within the vicinity of hospitals; same in concept to GTA III. Additionally, a player's health can be increased to 200 percent when this is done. Food stores can be used to increased depleted health, but will only max out at 100 percent.
GTA Vice City's Pizza Boy mission allows the player to gain 200 percent health when completed.
In GTA San Andreas, health kits spawn during gang warfare or in missions that involve gun fights. Health in GTA San Andreas is variable, and can be increased by swimming, sprinting or visiting a gym.
GTA Liberty City Stories shares the same concept of health kits being displaced around the map, around hospitals and in safehouses. Maximum health can be increased by completing the Pizza Boy and Noodle Boy side missions where you gain 25 percent.
GTA Vice City Stories shares the exact same concept as Liberty City Stories; with the addition odd job completion of Air Rescue increasing normal health.
GTA IV health packs are found all over Liberty City, in out of the way locales, in hospitals and subway stations. Players can use their phones to call for ambulances to have paramedics heal them, for a fee. Food stores and stands are dotted around the city. A map of all health kit locations can be accessed on the in game website "Whattheydonotwantyoutoknow.com"
Tumblr media
(Above) GTA IVs health kit map on "Whattheydonotwantyoutoknow.com".
The functionality of health kits in GTA IV also expands onto multiplayer, where it can also be used to repair the players vehicle.
In GTA V, and its online counterpart, health is provided in the form of drinks (which comes in the forms of E-cola and Sprunk). These drinks can be purchased from vending machines within Los Santos and Blaine County as well as snacks (in the form of Ps and Qs, Meteorite and Egochaser). In GTAO (Online), players inventories can be refilled with snacks and allow the player to heal at any time.

Autodesk Maya, a brief overview, by RPG.
Autodesk Maya, or more commonly referred to as just "Maya", is a trialware program designed to enable the "prototyping" and creation of 3D computer graphics-based objects.
Its main purpose to provide the ability to create assets for interactive 3d applications (such as those of video games), film creation, animation, TV series production and VFX artistry.
3d assets made within Maya are able to be imported into Unreal Engine and Unity.
Maya sees its widespread use in the film industry, but is also commonly applied to game design; with many examples of game assets being created with its tools.
