the way i'm in love with the villainess handles its trans woman character is so fucking good, it's such a good deconstruction of the "gender swap" trope and the way it is generally treated as either a joke or as being a magical thing that exists for the complete detriment of any trans people existing in the setting whatsoever, and relates the way a magical curse could operate the exact same way as dysphoria and directly implying that this is not a special case in the setting, it just happens to have a deus ex machina for transition bc magic
and like. an isekai using the fact that it's an isekai to literally have the main character look into the camera and say "my best friend was a trans man and I lost him forever. I will never let that happen again"? fucking CHEF'S KISS
Tilty: I hate everyone. I never go out of my house if I can help it. Magic can burn and Anis is insufferable, we'll never agree, be friends, or have the same values, I can't stand her.
Also Tilty: Anis asked me to come over? Of course I'll be there. She's crying in the rain? Let's go, here's my umbrella and a blanket. I'd house her forever if she lost her home. Should she need to leave the country I'd give her all the supplies she asked for. What if we ditched everything I've ever known and eloped together
Episode 10 of The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady , a summary:
ANISPHIA: “I, being the self-sacrificial lesbian protagonist, am about to sacrifice my happiness for the good of the kingdom. I’ll also probably have to marry a man for archaic lineage reasons.”
LAINIE, TO EUPHYLLIA: “Doesn’t that bother you?”
EUPHYLLIA: “No.”
LAINIE: “But, I thought you were gay.”
EUPHYLLIA: “…”
ILIA: “Aren’t you gay?”
EUPHYLLIA: “…?”
TILTY: “ BITCH, you are gaaaaaaaaay.”
EUPHYLLIA: “…!”
EUPHYLLIA, TO HER FATHER: “Father, I am sorry if this disappoints you, but I am gay and wish to bang the princess.”
DUKE MAGENTA: “It is okay, my daughter. I am also gay and wish to bang the king.”
