🙈what’s my muse’s biggest blind spot?

[Sammy has an infallible trust in the people she holds closest, especially people in her friend group. That alone has caused some trouble in the past. Despite her friendship with the Vault Scouts, before that she was an incredibly lonely kid who just wanted a friend, and as a result she holds those who reciprocate close enough they could- in theory- hurt her immensely. Shit hurts, man.]

🛌my muse’s biggest nightmare

[As a kid? Siren hunters. Sure, her ma told her she'd always be safe and her family wouldn't let anything hurt her, but also there were people who'd hunt Sammy to the ends of Pandora just because she was a Siren. She'd have nightmares of them taking her from her bed at night, and that caused a whole lot of issues already.]

[As an adult? Rejection from her friends, the raiders, her family. Any of it would blindside her in an instant and just absolutely wreck Sammy. She still harbors so much guilt about her affiliation with the COV and abandoning her family, vaults help her if they repay the favor.]

😰when my muse is stressed, how do they act out?

[Being a hothead, Sammy has a terrible habit of inflicting damage onto physical objects and venting her frustration on them with little hesitation. And given that her powers are emotionally-charged, this creates a terrible scenario where Sammy deadass commits arson-catharsis. Ever seen a Siren vomit fire on a colony of varkids solely cause one got acid on her boots? Trust me, you don't want to.]

Akachi never considered herself a mentor, even when she had taken Sammy under her wing to better understand her powers. But for years it was teaching Sammy to repress it, like Akachi had learned to do for most of her life. She wasn't like Maya or Lilith who felt powerful with their siren songs, Akachi's powers always scared her.

Maybe thats a reason Sammy left them for the COV. But now Akachi was going to try and make up for what she had taught Sammy on how to handle this miracle and curse.

"Ready Sweet Pea?" Akachi asked holding Sammy's hands in hers, the two sitting infront of each other. Some meditation like thing. "Maya told me about this once...I wish she explained it more but she described it as a- finding understanding...I think."

Akachi's tattoos glowed a soft blue as she consintrated on her powers, focusing on a glow.

Being a Siren had come naturally to Sammy- well, more than naturally- at times her powers seemed like an unwelcome hindrance, a deathly secret she barely kept contained under her sleeves or under her skin. She’d spent years as a child learning to repress her abilities, moments spent experimenting with new ways to ease the cumbersome wings that flickered to life unannounced.

Sammy knew Akachi could only teach her so much, atleast she’d realized the older she got. When Sammy was littler, the times where Miss Ijeoma would teach her about gun safety, cleaning, breathing right- they all seemed like preliminary tasks to survival, to being a Siren. All baby steps towards the flights of fancy, magic and mysticism that Sirens were written as.

Now she sat across from her mentor, reminiscent of days in her youth after work where she’d practice simple breathing exercises.  “I’m ready, Chi.” A soft crimson glimmer trembled under her markings, harsh enough to illuminate the skin of Sammy’s cheeks, but soft enough to compliment Akachi’s own blue.

His boot reached out and landed on the tin, suspicious as to why she was trying to hide this. “Before now? Nothin’. Right now?” His mouth twisted to one side in a toothy grin. “Now I’m intrigued. What’re you up to?”

If Sammy weren’t aware of the impending trouble she’d be in, she would’ve sworn again when Mordecai’s boot stopped her from picking up the tin. Okay, maybe he didn’t see what the tin was, or figure out it’s contents, maybe she could still pull this off! The way he grinned inquisitively didn’t help her confidence.

“Ohh, y’know- stuff! Uhh- I was headin’ down to Ellie’s fer some advice, maybe check on the drop pods- y’know how they can git without maintenance!” Hopefully that’d explain away the active Oz-kit around her neck.

“Was also gonna ask Clap ‘bout the latest goss, an this B&B campaign he was plannin, all nerd stuff, suuuuper borin.” She chuckled, a little forcedly as her fingers gripped the underside of the tin and she attempted to pull it from under his shoe.
