Healthy Relationships is an interactive, multi-session, small-group, skills-building program for persons living with HIV/AIDS. Whether someone has only just learned about being HIV positive and they are just beginning to absorb this information or it's something they have been living with for a while, there are many situations where the decision of whether or not to disclose your HIV status must be made. In a number of circumstances that means trying to balance honesty with protecting the right to privacy. As with so many of the issues about HIV, or many important life decisions, there are no absolute answers that are right for everyone. Coming together in groups of 5 to 12, HIV-positive participants of the same gender and sexual orientation meet in a room that allows privacy for discussion. The interactive sessions are facilitated by two individuals. Participants learn problem-solving and decision-making skills to address coping with stress related to safer sexual behaviors and disclosure of HIV+ status. Participants will observe the facilitators model the skills, watch scenes from popular movies portraying characters using similar skills, and role play the scenes as though the situation pertained to safer sex negotiation or HIV status disclosure. Participants will learn how to decide to whom they wish to disclose, how to make sure the time and place are right to disclose, and utilize tools to make such decisions less stressful, THERE IS NO EXPECTATION OR REQUIREMENT TO DISCLOSE YOUR HIV STATUS BECAUSE YOU PARTICIPATED IN THIS PROGRAM. We have upcoming groups scheduled for September and October so if you would like to sign-up, or would like more info please send an e-mail toshow contact info or call show contact info In addition, dinner and lunch will be provided, and participants will receive a $25 gift card upon completion of both sessions. We look forward to hearing from you! This is a program of OASIS/HIVevolution of Northwest Florida
