I think the funniest criticism of T’Pol has got to be when people say things like “She’s been around humans long enough to understand X” or “she should be able to read between the lines of Y” as though any confusion or misunderstanding is solely down to dishonesty on her part.
I’m not saying our Vulcan bestie excels at emotional honesty. She definitely lies sometimes. (usually to herself)
but
I have lived amongst neurotypicals my entire life and I still misunderstand what they want regularly.
I have lived in this country for twenty years and I had to consult Google today to figure out whether my colleague jokingly called me a stripper. (I’m still not completely sure.)
