no cause some of the shit y'all are saying has me genuinely worried that you don't understand the difference between immigration and SETTLER COLONIALISM. y'all do realize that if jewish people just mass migrated to palestine and lived peacefully among palestinians as neighbors and countrymen, then none of this would be a problem. right? you get that, right? you get that our issue was never "there's too many jews here" but rather "why am i getting kicked out of my house." RIGHT?

Hi! I remember reading in an ask that you find codependency interesting in fiction. Do you have any favorite ships / examples? I'd love to try reading / watching something with a codependent ship (or platonic ship), and I seem to have similar taste to you in terms of books and shows. :)
Hope you don’t mind me publishing! Codependency tends to be unhealthy and destructive irl but I’m a total sucker for it in fiction, haha, especially since at its heart it’s all about mutual devotion (one-sided dependency tends to be more disturbing because there isn’t that same trust and reciprocation and understanding). I’m using the TvTropes definition here, btw. Examples would be… Sherlock and Watson (in literally any SH-derivative series), as well as sibling ships like the Elric brothers from FMA (Mustang and Hawkeye count as codependent too - one refuses to live without the other), the di Angelo siblings from PJO (more one-sided on Nico’s part, though), the Winchester brothers from SPN, Eren and Mikasa from SNK, Simon and River Tam from Firefly. There’s been some debate about Percabeth being codependent, and I think they absolutely are (Percy a little more so than Annabeth). They have no qualms about dying for each other, or killing for each other. If anything poses the slightest threat to Annabeth, Percy has zero remorse (and even takes pleasure) in eliminating that threat - if it means protecting her, he will let the rest of the world burn. When they’re apart all they can think about is getting back to one another. Annabeth is literally Percy’s tie to life when he bathes in the River Styx. Annabeth is very possessive and jealous when it comes to Percy, as well - she even says he’s the most important thing to her in the world. I don’t consider it a destructive relationship - they clearly respect and understand one another - but I definitely consider it codependent.

Bethlehem, Palestine.
Usually there is a festive parade to celebrate Christmas.
But today it is a silent march for the lives lost in Gaza.
20,000K+ dead. Countless under the rubble and so many more injured.

I have seen less and less posts about Palestine each day, and I want to remind people that there is still very much a genocide going on and Palestine has continued to be attacked.
The number of casualties in Gaza has increased to 8,525 with 21,000+ injured
Hospitals in Gaza will run out of power today
Israel has once again cut Gaza’s communications
Israel has striked another refugee camp, killing 50+ and it was reported that children were carrying other injured children to get to safety

The House of Representatives in America has passed a resolution to censure Rashida Tlaib.
Rashida Tlaib is the first and only Palestinian American in congress.
And it's because she stood up for her fellow Palestinians, defending the slogan "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free."
As well as calling out Israel for its crimes and demanding for a ceasefire.
She is being censured, which is "the step below expulsion."
For defending the Palestinian right to exist, they are trying to silence her.
The vote was 234 to 188 with 4 Republicans voting against and 22 Democrats voting in support.
Her statement was:
"It is important to seperate people and governments. No government is beyond critism.
The idea that criticing the government of Israel is antisemitic sets a very dangerous precedent, and it's been used to silence diverse voices speaking up for human rights across our nation."
Which we've seen through censorship of pro Palestine media, and the language they use to dehumanise Palestinians.
The end of her statement is better said by her.
The Palestinians are humans.
The Palestinians are being massacred.
This is a genocide.
Keep speaking up.
Keep boycotting.
Keep protesting.
If your voice didn't matter, they wouldn't try so hard to silence it like they are trying with Rashida Tlaib.

I haven’t seen this linked on here so: this is an awesome resource for how you can help the people in Palestine. It has donation links, helps you figure out how to contact your representatives, and a regularly updated list of planned protests. It is USAmerican centric but the list of protests is international.

male gaze is not 'when person look sexy' or 'when misogynist make film'
death of the author is not 'miku wrote this'
I don't think you have to read either essay to grasp the basic concepts
death of the author means that once a work is complete, what the author believes it to mean is irrelevant to critical analysis of what's in the text. it means when analysing the meaning of a text you prioritise reader interpretation above author intention, and that an interpretation can hold valid meaning even if it's utterly unintentional on the part of the person who created the thing. it doesn't mean 'i can ignore that the person who made this is a bigot' - it may in fact often mean 'this piece of art holds a lot of bigoted meanings that the author probably wasn't intentionally trying to convey but did anyway, and it's worth addressing that on its own terms regardless of whether the author recognises it's there.' it's important to understand because most artists are not consciously and vocally aware of all the possible meanings of their art, and because art is communal and interpretive. and because what somebody thinks they mean, what you think somebody means, and what a text is saying to you are three entirely different things and it's important to be able to tell the difference.
male gaze is a cinematographic theory on how films construct subjectivity (ie who you identify with and who you look at). it argues that film language assumes that the watcher is a (cis straight white hegemonically normative) man, and treats men as relatable subjects and women as unknowable objects - men as people with interior lives and women as things to be looked at or interacted with but not related to. this includes sexual objectification and voyeurism, but it doesn't mean 'finding a lady sexy' or 'looking with a sexual lens', it means the ways in which visual languages strip women of interiority and encourage us to understand only men as relatable people. it's important to understand this because not all related gaze theories are sexual in nature and if you can't get a grip on male gaze beyond 'sexual imagery', you're really going to struggle with concepts of white or abled or cis subjectivities.

Sorry to come back on here in a bad mood, but I desperately want the era of self- loathing to be over.
I want a healthy mind so badly.

Sorry to be an ugly fun-killer but in light of the recent Invasion I urge you all to be mindful of the things you reblog and the memes that you repost. Please remember that behind every "world war 3 lmao" post there is a reality where real people are going to be displaced from their homes and are going to lose their lives.
Before you laugh at that tweet that talks about the draft or whatever ask yourself: are you laughing because it's funny? or are you laughing because you're safe and comfortable in the West and it's not a direct problem for you?
