ACTIVITY NOTICE.

i put my blogs on hiatus some time ago with the hope that i would eventually come back to jelco. after some consideration, i’ve decided that while i may return to tumblr rp, i will not be returning to this blog. before i left, i felt insecure about my portrayal of jelco and i still do; because of that, i’ve lost confidence in writing him. the killjoys rpc is also very small which makes it hard to get interaction, especially with this muse. i will keep the blog up for archiving purposes / if i ever decide to return to jelco as a muse.

i think i need to go on hiatus for a while. ( technically i already am on hiatus, but figured i'd let you know instead of dropping off the face of the earth for months again. ) it's become hard to focus on my blogs without my anxiety deciding to ruin any muse / energy i have, on top of school. i feel like i'm pressuring myself to be here, and i can't do that to myself. it isn't healthy.

i'll come back when i don't feel so stressed out, whenever that is. if you don't already have my discord and want to chat feel free to dm me and ask for it.

things about liam jelco that have web energy:

- his line in 2x03 where he tells p.awter “i like you, you’re hard to predict. i like to test people, find a weakness so i can use it against them”

- him being in charge of the containment fence around old town, which is basically like a huge mind control device being able to manipulate the moods of anyone contained in it ( ranging from happiness to anger and in between )

- the fact d.utch went from literally being seconds away from killing him to helping him escape ( and almost getting herself killed ) in about five seconds in 2x09

- in the same scene as above, him describing himself as just “a cog in the machine” while also implying he knows more than he lets on, which he definitely does

things that have desolation energy:

- part of his job involving torture

- him being amused pretty much any time he causes someone pain

things that have eye energy:

- having a lot of security cameras/camera feeds in his office

- part of his job involving information extraction

- accurately predicting p.awter’s weakness in 2x03 ( her being too much of a doctor to kill him, which she mentions to d.utch at the beginning of 2x09 )

- knowing d.avin was in love with d.utch in season three despite not knowing either of them long enough to realistically know

the reason jelco won’t use his first name ( liam ) or respond to it mostly has to do with his father. a part of him feels like he was robbed of the choice to be what he wanted rather than what his father wanted, too early for him to know how to be anything else. “liam” died when his innocence did. when his mother did. 

it also has to do with the fact he is the only one of his family left -- he lives by his family name and nothing else, he is judged by it. he is the company’s replacement for his father, and no matter how good or how useful he proves himself to be to them, ultimately they see him as nothing else but that.

sage: what is your muse’s legacy? what do they want to be remembered for and what might they actually be remembered for?

to be honest, jelco doesn’t know what his legacy is. he comes from one of his homeworld’s lower families, the ones with enough wealth or influence to stay there instead of on one of the colonized moons. he is the only one of that family that’s still alive. he’s doing the same job his father did ( only better, he has to be better. ) that’s all he’s really known, that was the legacy his father left to him. but he doesn’t know what legacy he would leave behind, or if there is anyone left who would care.

as for what he wants to be remembered for, i think jelco would want to be remembered for his usefulness. he devoted years to the company’s causes, and he wants to be remembered for all of that effort. what he would actually be remembered for...is nothing. the company would forget him, in time. everyone would. true, there might be some who remember him as old town’s former governor ( or dictator, depending on who you ask ) but eventually, he would be forgotten.

holly: how strong is your muse’s sense of intuition? are they aware of it? do they ever fear that it is only paranoia?

jelco has a strong sense of intuition, and he’s definitely aware of it. he’s very good at reading people, usually to find a weakness he can then exploit. sometimes it seems like he “just knows” certain things, about a person, about a place, about anything. for someone who was taught not to feel, he trusts his intuition. and more often than not he tends to be right.

...that said, there are times where he feels like he could just be being paranoid. it just doesn’t happen that often. he hates considering that possibility whenever it does come up, because he also doesn’t like being wrong.
