GEMINI was a South Korean duo that debuted in 2015 under HJK Entertainment.

They are actually cousins but because of how close they were in their childhood they often called themselves sisters. After joining HJK they refused to debut in a group without the other so Jinkyung debuted them as a duo, naming themselves Gemini after their twin-like bond and shared zodiac sign.

Within a year of debuting Nancy and Hyeni’s relationship started to fall apart, mostly due to creative differences among other things. The tension caused their performances to drop in quality and thus pushed away their fans. Despite this, they continued to release music whilst a number of attitude, laziness and bullying scandals began to take over their career.

HJK attempted to salvage the group by switching up their concept with something new, coming out with “Baby Don’t Stop”. However, the song failed to bring in new fans and only worsened the two’s relationship. Eventually, they disbanded in 2018 and went their separate ways.

HWANG JINKYUNG is the CEO of HJK Entertainment and the paternal aunt of Hwang Yewon.

HISTORY

Jinkyung was born on October 20, 1987, to a rather rich family and grew up having a passion for singing, dancing and idol groups. In 2000, Jinkyung’s father established HJK Entertainment as a company focused on creating new artists and music, Jinkyung being the namesake and main reason for it’s creation.

In 2002, Jinkyung debuted in the company’s first girl group Sweet5 as their lead vocalist. The group had seen barely any success and disbanded in 2006 after a year of hiatus. Jinkyung then went on to debut solo in 2009.

In 2012, the CEO at the time stepped down from his position and Jinkyung took his place, she hired a new creative director and claimed she would bring forward a new era to the company. She has been very involved with the creative processes behind each group and has a large say in what they do.

As of 2020, she has given birth to two twin sons and has not focused on the groups as much as she has in the past.

HJK ENTERTAINMENT is a South Korean entertainment company that mainly manages and produces idol groups.

HISTORY

HJK Entertainment was founded by Hwang Sungmin in early 2000, mostly as a place for his daughter to debut in a group. They debuted a girl group and a boy group, Sweet5 and WWW, in 2002 and 2004 respectively. Neither groups saw massive success and the company barely made a name for itself beyond those two.

In 2009, the company debuted Jinkyung as a soloist and she managed to bring in revenue for the company and brought them to the spotlight. Their next two groups debuted with moderate success.

Jinkyung took over as CEO in 2012 and brought around a massive change to the company. Girl group Vixen, who debuted in 2014, was her first major project.

As of 2021, the company currently manages five idol groups and several soloists. The company is also notorious for it’s nepotism reputation, many believe that it is one of the easiest companies to debut with, especially if you know someone who works there.

HAN SEOYEON is a witch and the childhood friend of Huang Yue.

HISTORY

Han Seoyeon was born on May 25, 1998, as the younger twin of Han Seokyung. The two were born as witches, their abilities seen throughout generations in their family, although Seoyeon bloomed much later than her twin.

When she and her twin were seven the family relocated to Luoyang, China, this is where she met and befriended Yue and her family. However, in 2012, she discovered her parents had no hopes for her as a witch and had been training Seokyung separately from her. In a rage she told Yue about her frustrations and the two began to search and discover more about their origins and their families.

Later that night, Seoyeon found Yue in front of her family home, the entire house in flames. She was lucky that her family had survived but she took the blame for Yue’s actions and the two fled the country a couple nights later at age 14 when Yue found out she had been accepted into HJK.

Due to her age and lack of family in the area, Seoyeon had hidden at the trainee dorms with Yue and that lasted for several months until the company found out about her situation. Against all better judgement, Jinkyung decided she wouldn’t send her back to China and eventually the Vixen girls took her into their home.

As of 2021, she still lives with Vixen, now their honorary daughter, and works a bartender job to support herself as well running an online shop selling crystals and spells. She is recognised almost immediately by her red hair, the last time it was any other colour must’ve been two years ago.
