Hi friend! I've been thinking about this question a lot recently, even before you asked.

besides Maslow's hierarchy of needs (shelter, food, companionship, etc), things that make me happy are having a project or two to work on--most usually this is a story to write but sometimes it's a video game to complete.

Things that I forget bring me happiness in the long run, even if they're unpleasant in the moment: exercise. I need to get better about this. It really does help my mental health and my body but I let it fall to the side quite often. So i've been thinking about the best way to get back into that without hurting myself or pushing too hard

it'll be fun

Also my dog and my plants make me very happy :D

I think we, as a general community, need to start taking this little moment more seriously.

This, right here? This is asking for consent. It’s a legal necessity, yes, but it is also you, the reader, actively consenting to see adult content; and in doing so, saying that you are of an age to see it, and that you’re emotionally capable of handling it.

people telling you they reread your fic is the biggest compliment you could ever receive. there are thousands of stories out there begging to be found, to be explored, but your story meant so much to someone that they came back to it eagerly, they went over every word again. to love is to return and loving a fic is rereading it. thank you to all readers and rereaders <3333

anyway the actual point of fandom is to inspire each other. reading each other's fics and admiring each other's art and saying wow i love this and i feel something and i want to invoke this in other people, i want to write a sentence that feels like a meteor shower, i want to paint a kiss with such tenderness it makes you ache, i want to create something that someone else somewhere will see it and think oh, i need to do that too, right now. i am embracing being a corny cunt on main to say inspiring each other is one of the things humanity is best at and one of the things fandom is built for and i think that's beautiful

I'm definitely assuming you mean romantic love

First of all, you don't have to understand what you're feeling right this second. You can take as long as you want and feel the situation out. The mature thing (but very hard) to do, is bring it up in conversation -- how they might feel about you and how you might feel about them. Are you in a romantic relationship already with this person? Better to ask and be on the same page IMO. If you're not, and there's no rush, then allow yourself time to determine how you feel, I guess

I'm not the best at love advice, but i'll tell you this: any kind of love--romantic, platonic, familial--it should lift you up. It should support you and your love for them should support them right back. You should want the best for them and them for you. You should have people around you that genuinely want you to succeed and thrive, and you should want that for your friends and partner(s).
