people constantly talk about the women ted bundy killed. women. grown women. they refer to college women and radio hosts and ski instructors, but most of all these women are talked about as one collective unit, the 36 canonical victims of Ted Bundy. They’re a group.

There are two people in this group that I think go unrecognized.

This is Lynette Culver.

She was violently murdered in May of 1975, abducted from her middle school in Pocatello, Idaho by Ted Bundy. She was twelve. She was not a grown woman, she was not in college, she was a child. And he drowned her in the bathtub of a hotel before throwing her body in the Snake River. She would be 57 years old today. 

This is Kimberly Leach.

While she doesn’t get forgotten as much as Lynette, she’s been left out a lot, too. She was also abducted from her middle school, in the middle of the day in 1978, in Lake City, Florida. Her body was found in a fucking shed, dumped with absolutely no respect. She was also twelve. Again, this girl was not a woman. She was a child. She would be 55 today. 

Before we talk about the fact that he killed women, or that he escaped from prison, or anything at all, we should make it incredibly clear to the entire fucking world that Ted Bundy killed children. Twelve year old children. He committed child murder and rape.

Ted Bundy killed children. Never forget that.
