Aww thank you!! What i usually do is i like to listen to music as i draw. I feel like this opens my imagination more. A lot of things come to me as i draw, as well. For example, with the mountain wings, i didn't want to do feathered wings (cuz it looked weird) so i decided on giving them fur at the base of the wings. Other inspiration is from what other people say about it. With the cave dwellers mother looked at it and said they looked like rats and thats when i decided to give them whiskers because they might need them when going into narrow spaces. I usually have to be in the mood to draw as well, which can be almost every day for some few months and then i can suddenly go a month or two with no creative inspiration at all. I don't know if this answers it, because i was kind of unsure on how to answer your question. Thank you for asking!

Shadow Dwellers / Cave dragons

One of the more uglier dragons, they are very self aware of their looks. They constantly cover themselves in as much jewelry as they can find to make themseles appear "prettier". Shadow dwellers are big creatures who have big strong forarms and long thick claws for digging, while their smaller back legs are mainly used for pushing themselves deeper underground. They have whiskers on their feet nose and neck to help measure how wide a space is, wether or not its too narrow to get into. Their tails are covered in long sharp spikes, which is used as a defense. They usually come in very dark purples, oranges, blues and reds but yellow and greens have been seen. It is rare for one to have a light color (like the one in picture 4. Picture 4 also shows off the extent of jewelry). Their wings are attacted to their forearms which can make it difficult to move around in some areas in caves. They have four eyes which serve no purpose (i thought it looked cool) the pupils are constantly dilated to make it easier to see in the darker conditions. They are sensitive to light and require special eye wear when traveling above ground. Shadows dwellers call a series of cave systems and tunnels their home, with the kingdom being a very large cavern

They have different beliefs as well, believing that the kings should rule instead of the queens. Thsir current king is king Dolomite (1st and 2nd image) his wife is Queen excellent (3rd image) the caves are extremely dangerous, with cave ins being a constant threat and lack of oxygen and narrow passages and falling into deeper holes. You will see many dragons with scars and disabilities from cave ins or falling rocks etc. This is what happened to king Dolomite, who suffered major injuries from one of the largest cave ins in their history. He, unlike many others, was lucky to stay alive, only suffering a disfigured leg and difficult vision in his left eyes. They get alot of their food imported from the shorewings and food that has been hunted from the forest dragons. But the food that they do get from the caves are mainly bite size fish or salamander, cave shrimp and crayfish. Shadowdwellers are fire breathers, and use their Fird to light torches which help the town see throughout the day! Names are based off of cavern names, colors animals that dwell in caves, crystal types and pretty names like beautiful or gorgeous.

Birdwings (dragons of paradise)

the first image is an older drawing i did from 3 years ago, older concept design. Snd these are the new and improved concept ideas!!!

Despite their seemingly welcoming name, the dragons of paradise are all but welcoming. These hostile and stand offish dragons are threatening towards outsiders (other dragon tribes) but amoug their community, they are kind, organized and joyful. Living in the dense jungles of the Nervego (Ner-Vah-go) (literally nevergo but mixed up, if you couldn't tell lol). The jungle itself isnt particurally dangerous, with the most dangerous plants being the manchineel tree and a monsterous fly trap plant that is easily identifiable and avoidable. (They take slow to consume so one must use a knife or talons to get out. However the inside of the plant is thick, meaning your talons or knife need to be sharp.) The reason it is dangerous is because dragons went missing. Many were killed by birdwings or just got lost and starved to death. Birdwings are predatory animals. But they also eat fruit! They have the ability to inject venom into anyone they bite on command, the venom paralyzes the victim and in large doses can be fatal. A dragonet is taught at a young age how to control and use this ability. This tribe is covered in feathers (shown in the older drawing) they're a but medium sized with large wings. They are more like tree hoppers and climbers, which is why they have those large hooked fingers on their wings, to grab onto branches. Their claws are long and hooked so they can get into the bark. The horns, shapes, sizes, feathers and everything varies, however the designs (physical base) remain relevant. They are very colorful dragons with colors ranging from all over the rainbow. Birdwing names are usually involved around bird names, particularly exotic ones from jungles (or africa), Flora and fauna from the jungle, and types of land revolving around a jungle. Their queen is queen Astrapis (a bird of paradise). She is shown in image 2 and 3. Only the dragons of the royal family have the crest on their head. Their history is different, from other tribes. After an ancient war many many centuries before, the birdwings had lost. They were driven from their home (then the plains and forests of the now greater horned dragons (rhinowings)) and forced to find a new home. In a desperate attempt to help her dragons, then queen cassowary lead her dragons into the unexplored jungles. Though brutal and almost uninhabitable at first, the dragons soon coped and became used ti the conditions, building villages and training themselves. Now they weren't forgotten, not at first. The other tribes knew of their whereabouts. But the dragons of paradise didnt show themselves simce they moved, and were slowly forgotten completely. It is only the rhinowings royals who are aware of their existence. As of now, they are stand offish but less likely to kill anyone aho seeks into their land, but rather kidnap them.

Their territory and kingdom is deep within the depths of the jungles

The palace rests in around and amoug the biggest tree in the forest. A waterfall somehow runs through it

Mountainwings/Highland dragons

So one day, way back when (2 years i assume), i decided to make up my own wings of fire tribes in a far away land called- i never actually came up with a name. There were the mountainwings or the highland dragons, the forestwings or the dragons of the ancient forest, the desertwing or sand dragons, the rhinowings or greater horned dragon, the bird wings or birds of prey (they call themselves the dragons of paradise) and the shadow dwellers. Some included dragons were the meadow runners and shorewings, better known as fisher dragons or sea dragons.

Here, is an example of a personal favorite, the mountainwings. (Yes i was to lazy to redraw the head so i traced over the image of the first one in digital.) They look bad cause 2 years ago drawing. They are long legged creatures who have long wings which are feathered near the base and more bad like near the ends. They dont have scales and instead have long thick fur that helps them deal with the colder environment. They're lungs are generally larger than normal dragons, since they live in a higher altitude. Their fur cor varies from browns to grays to black, white and even sometimes a ginger color. They have horns that mimics that of many goat species (cuz its cool) their current queen is queen addax [2nd image] (dont care uf its not a mountain goat. Its a goat and i like the name). Her husband is king boulder.

When dragons from other tribes visit the mountain wings (like for buisness or important political matters, the queen has them stay in a camp near the base of the mountain. That way theres less risk of dragons fainting or having medical conditions as a result of the altitude. The highland kingdom is located on the 3rd largest peak in the moutian range. Their territory might look like this

their claws are thick and rigged to help hook onto cracks and rocks. Their names are related to mountains nature, animals that like on mountains, goats specifically, minerals and sky names.

They are very good at balance and spotting things from very far away.

Whitefur

Mate to Mapleleaf and father to ravensnout, waxfur and Highstrut. He was the more fun parent out of the two, always finding fun things to do. When whitefur and Mapleleaf found out about her pregnancy, he became scared, not believing the two were ready. This put a strain on their relationship for a while, However the two eventually talked and they became so much closer. As a warrior, whitefur is a better hunter than he is a fighter, which sort of reflected onto highstrut. Whitefur died in the final battle against Brackenstar, fighting against his cause.

Mapleleaf

Mapleleaf is the older sister to leechbite. (leechbite was born to their parents by the time Mapleleaf was a warrior. And her parents by then were old) the two were never very close, and had more of an acquainted relationship. Mapleleaf was mates with whitefur, a tom she grew up with when she was an apprentice. When she found out she was expecting, the two had become very nervous and sometimes put a strain their relationship. But they talked and it only made them stronger, and closer. Mapleleaffhad ravensnout, waxfur and Highstrut, with waxfur and Highstrut coming from the same litter. Mapleleaf was the more strict parent while whitefur was the more layed back one. This could sometimes cause tension within the family, but in the end, they all loved each other and always found ways to have fun together as a family. When waxfur was born, Mapleleaf nor whitefur had no idea what to do. But that didnt mean they would abandon him. A medic from another clan helped the forest clan medicine cats in helping this cat grow a stronger upper body. Despite his need for more attention from the doctors, the parents did not become more attentive to just one cat. Ravensnout grew up to be serious, much like his mother. Waxfur was more grumpy but could also smile and be happy, a mixture of both of the parents personalites, while Highstrut had more of his fathers personality. Mapleleaf would eventually die in a battle protecting her son from a briarclan cat named toadtail. The family grieved and is still grieving the loss of both parents.
