Serena kept giggling, her hands still covering his eyes. She could feel his face heating up underneath them. The Blonde rolled her eyes at his words, pulling her hands away as he started to turn around. "Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not Scarlett. Hope I didn't crush your dreams now," she said with a cocky smirk. "Good to know you're still funny, though." A smile was plastered onto her face, but quickly vanished as she noticed the tone of his voice. "Well, I think I'm much cooler than Scarlett anyway, but if you want to wait for her here, suit yourself. You'll be missing out on an amazing evening with me though," Serena remarked pouting, raising her eyebrows. She tried to keep up a serious face, but failed miserably after a few seconds.

Pressing her lips together, to stop herself from bursting out into laughter, at the sight of Dan still holding the phone to his ear, while her phone was buzzing in her purse, she waited for him to notice it himself. A small chuckle escaped her lips once he finally realized it, as she ran a hand through her hair. Blushing slightly at his words, she stared down at the floor. Usually, Serena was good at taking compliments, she got used to receiving some every day, but this was different. "Thank you," she said softly, feeling her voice shaking a little bit, as she finally looked up at him again. Taking in the sight of the guy standing in front of her, her eyes went down and back up again, to check him out. "You don't look so bad yourself," she said with a bright smile. "And that coat looks super cozy," she added, realizing that she should've taken her winter coat with her, instead of the jacket she was wearing now. After all, it was still winter outside. "Ready for Shakespeare?" she asked, her head nodding towards the door.

To Be Or Not To Be | Serena + Dan

Everything went dark as warm hands covered his eyes and blocked out the Palace lobby. As sad as certain individuals who would remain nameless might find it, Dan already easily recognized Serena’s laugh. Her hint prompted his own laugh to join hers. “Scarlett Johansson, I wasn’t expecting to run into you in the lobby of the Palace Hotel,” he joked, turning around and finding himself closer to Serena than he ever imagined being in reality. He was frozen for a moment, dark eyes locked with hers, lost in a sea of blue. And then he was smiling. “Oh, Serena, it’s you,” he said dryly, the humor still apparent in his tone.

He was so enraptured that he’d almost forgotten the cell phone he was still holding to his ear until Serena’s voicemail message told him that she was sorry she’d missed his call. Tearing his gaze away for a moment, he hit the end call button and stuck his phone back in his pocket before returning his attention to the blonde in front of him. “You look… amazing,” he breathed, taking in the gold dress and feeling suddenly and explicably under dressed despite the fact that he was wearing a majority of one of the two suits he owned and his nicest winter coat.

Yeah, I’m not going to disagree with you there. About any of it actually, I think it’s time things weren’t just handed to Blair on a silver platter. I mean, it’s up to the two of you to figure out where your friendship stands, but what happened while you were gone sends a pretty strong message.
