Personally, I think it’s big brain to say that casting Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka was done to piss off Roald Dahl. Obviously, the real reason why Wilder was cast was because he was fucking hilarious.

But I just think it’s funny that Dahl hated the movie because it wasn’t “faithful” to the original book. (And the reason why Tim Burton was more faithful to the book is because… that shmuck is racist)

Anyway, I’m pretty sure that Dahl is rolling in his grave knowing that most people prefer the 1971 movie (and therefore, Gene Wilder) to the “more faithful” adaptation of his book.

Sorry, I had to add another gif of Wonka because this movie reigns supreme over the 2005 version.
