"If we mock this thing enough, people will stop doing/enjoying/perusing it."
Do they?
Do they really?
Do they throw their hands in the air and just give up? Or do they dig their heels in deeper in spite. Do they see your anger and mockery as righteous and wise? Or do they see it as ignorant bullying against their just or innocent interest?
Maybe you're not trying to convince them they're wrong. Maybe you're mocking them to bolster your perspective with your peers. To reinforce just how absurd or cruel they're being. Relieving perfectly justified anger, because honestly, how can they be so stubborn and dumb and hateful?
But, that leaves the question I rarely see addressed. What do you do with those people? Verbal beat-downs don't make people disappear. Removing them from positions of power don't change their minds (Although it does prevent their reach on the innocent. Getting them away from power is a solid and vital way to prevent damage from cruel ideology). Something as extreme as jail doesn't stop their ideals. And execution, if you even want to consider that, bolsters martyrdom.
How do you, or even can you, remove cruelty from the human condition?

i love the 😌 and 😔 emojis so much because they convey such specific emotions, but also those emotions are absolutely not "relieved" and "pensive"

In the end, if children bother you for sensory reasons and that's why you don't want them to be in the same public spaces as you, there are disabled adults who can and would cause the same sensory issues for you. Adults who are loud, who vocally stim, who have poor boundaries, poor hygiene, who cry in public, etc etc etc. And they're already socially ostracized for all of this.
So actually yeah, it's the bare minimum you can do for the group with the least human rights on the planet to figure out how to accept children as part of your public community without hating them for it, even if you are child-free yourself.

Technophobes need to apologise for "just put it in plain English you stupid machine!" because, well for one the decline in accurate error messages in favour of simplicity has contributed to the rise of tech illiteracy, but also because now whenever an "app" has a net connection error it will pop up a box saying something like "oo ooopsie! Your super duper feed went poo poo. We'll try again soon!" which having said to me by a corporation is about 8 million times worse than having to hear the word "network".

I've been feeling really stressed because of this scene.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is my biggest fear. The idea that the people you think of as friends only barely tolerate you, and you're just too dense to pick up on it. And it would be my own fault for not being more socially aware.
I'm too conscious of the fact that I would *not* pick up on social cues like this. How many people talk about me like this when I'm not around? How many people would gladly be rid of me? The fear of this possibility consumes me. It regularly has me afraid to reach out to anyone. It causes me to isolate myself. I'm not sure more socially capable people could ever understand the horror of this. I can't get it off my mind.

I need to tap a sign that says “Just because you have a lack of experience with the kinky and sensual and thus experience discomfort with it does not make it morally reprehensible, and in acting that way you’re only playing into the hands of people who want to use that as a means by which to decimate queer communities”
It’d be a big sign.

nobuddy feels like they have a sharp attention span these days, right? and we all just click “agree on terms of service” because its hard to love yourself sometimes, well
enter Terms of Service, Didn’t Read: a website and a browser addon that streamlines the terms of service of many popular web services to be read by the tech sunday drivers.
Tumblr media
It’s graded from A (great) to E (awful) and if you have the addon you have access to the info about the website on your bar
