dearest friend,

you said no demons and than went on to describe such demonic behavior. i cannot grasp at any point why that man thought he was ever in the right? for being allergic to cats? shall we throw down a red rug and ask him to walk it while we call upon sorceror weekly to take pictures and interview him for it? truly. the audacity of some people. i am sorry you had to go through that — dad sometimes says that people like to be loud instead of right and this man is a clear example of that.

i have taken artistic liberties and drew the assailant for you. you may do whatever you like with it, even if it's to use for ludwig's litter. i hope ludwig has recovered from such an incident, his hearing is better than most humans'.

i ended up going to delphinium with dad! it was quite beautiful and prue's magnificent showcase was wonderful! we went after dad's meeting. during it i found the cutest little cat cafe and got to enjoy a latte, a muffin and some cats. one of them enjoyed rubbing up against my pencils as i sketched. i wil show you all the sketches when you return.

also, when you return, perhaps we can go to anemone town together? it sounds amazing and i think i would like to enjoy that with you. you can be the guide.

Dear Zilla,

Still no demons, but some other inconveniences have popped up. One of them being that despite me booking a compartment for myself and telling the railway gentleman that I’d be travelling with a cat (and buying a special ticket for said cat!), there was trouble when this one man wanted to be seated in my compartment, only to throw a fit about Ludwig’s presence. He is allergic, you see. And I should not be allowed to have a cat on the train. It was a mess, despite all my precautions.

Sometimes, I cannot help but hate existing in public.

I agree that Delphinium has a vintage flair. In fact, I even believe that there are a couple stores where you can buy excellent vintage clothes, tucked away in the smaller streets. As far as recommendations go, it really depends what experience you are interested in. Era has a few wonderful places for tea. Crocus is, well, Crocus—it is beautiful and fantastical, but full of rune knights and royal guards. Oh!! Maybe you’d enjoy Anemone Town? It is by the sea. It is quite famous for its water park. And no, I don’t mean that there’s a famous public pool—it’s a park for water plants. I once passed by on my way back from a job and it is stunning. Especially at night / after dark when the bioluminescent flowers glow.

her jaw was tight as the chilly wind blew and zilla felt like a fool. because she lived around mountains!! she knew them to be cold even if the day was said to be warm out. sure, wearing black aided since the sun was attracted to it but that didn't help with the sharp cold mountain wind that chilled the night.

she tried not to be too much of an issue by not bringing any attention to her discomfort. her ribs had seized up some moments ago and zilla knew could bare with it for the rest of the journey until they made it back to the building and therefore — indoor heating.

but then, a warmth enveloped her quite snuggly. zilla's eyes widened and a familiar smell filled her senses. she looked up and to her right to see rogue, now without his own jacket. yet he didn't look cold. the warmth of the jacket made her face red, even! she was lucky her mask covered her cheeks so he could not see.

(now she was sure he heard her shivers and could probably hear her sudden heart beat. curses.)

"thank you, rogue." zilla's voice was soft. she adjusted herself and the jacket. he was quite tall, compared to her (not a hard feat) and he had more muscle. she was afraid of the jacket hitting the ground a bit, but for nothing. everything was under control. "it is quite warm."

upon kagura's vanity in her room, on her mirror is a black post-it note. in metallic-purple ink, there is a chibi-esque doodle of kagura winking with a speech bubble that says, "zap anyone who dares touches you!" with little lightning bolts in the background for good measure. it's both a reminder and an uplifting message that its okay to set boundaries. at least, that's zilla's intention.

there was a very hidden nervousness that went into being a guildmate with THE rosa lawrence. but then again, that was no longer her name and zilla would do her best and upmost to refer to her properly as well as equally, as she would any other guild member. after all, she was a human being just like zilla herself.

and one thing zilla liked to do with new guild members was at least formally introduce herself to them when she got the chance. it both let her attempt to be social (to ivan's pleasure) and also made raven tail feel more welcoming. some friendships had bloomed thanks to it. others did not do much more than nod and introduce them back before zilla sunk back into her shadow and away — she knew when she was wanted.

"good afternoon, ms. wintervale; i am zilla claramond. i wanted to introduce myself properly, i try to with new recruits."

To be in a guild again was---quite something, to say the least. The atmosphere was quite different from what she had experienced before, but dare she say it? She did not miss Master Lucielle's inquisitive glances, shot down from the woman's perch. Her new guildmaster was inquisitive and curious, certainly, but there was a different quality to it. With the wisdom and the knowledge she had now, she would say that it was that Master Ivan was not constantly searching for gaps in people's armour. A fact that she appreciated greatly.

Flipping the last page in the book that Niall had recommended, she hummed to herself for a moment, her foot tapping rapidly against the floor. A cliffhanger? Really? How unfair! Especially since the next volume would not be out for another month. Sighing quietly to herself as she put the book back into her bag, she looked up---directly at the master's daughter.

non verbal prompts

cities were something she will never truly get used to, though she's lived in and out of them for years at one point in her life. the seclusion of raven tail was something she enjoyed about the location of the guild. it had a lot more benefits than cons for zilla. though there were pros to cities, the amount of people in them was certainty not one.

her and flare were having a 'shopping trip' today, just the two of them. zilla stressed about it a lot the night before and early this morning. mainly about her mask situation. she didn't know which one to wear and so she wore none. and now her naked face was out and about. the makeup helped her feel better, even if it wasn't much with her lack of skill (and ivan never learned how to do makeup either, so he was useless for help).

flare was very nice about it, which was always great to hear from flare. she was fashionable and very pretty — she knew things. flare even complimented her and zilla hoped the blush wasn't too obvious before they left.

the familiar warmth of flare wrapped around her and zilla looked to the side to see flare smiling at her. it was a blinding smile, filled with the light of a thousand suns and made zilla's heart quicken. it said: 'i want to be closer' & 'i'm happy to be here' & 'i feel safe with you'. messages that made zilla's heart dance in the shadows of her chest.

zilla swallowed the sudden dryness in her mouth and offered, what she hoped, was a warm smile and not a grimace. zilla was not good at being warm, no, she was much better at basking in it selfishly. she tightened her arm closer, bringing flare closer.

cities weren't so bad.

zilla.....lowkey has a sweet tooth. she tries to be Smooth about it, but her weakness is honey bread and she can never resist grabbing some. and so, when it comes to tea and coffee? yes there's going to be things that make them sweet. cream, milk, honey, sugar and mixture of some of them are all definite ingredients. not all at once, she's never done that. because of her love of sweets, though, she has a strict dental hygiene schedule.

the outdoors was an expanse of freedom and something zilla truly was more comfortable in a lot of the time. her and her mama camped in between houses and it was something zilla preferred, because when they settled in a place zilla had to stay inside a lot. there was no reason to hide now, not in the promised flower kingdom. a garden from the heavens, that's what how her mama described fiore. especially on sunny days. those were her favorites.

today was such a day and sure, maybe she shouldn't have run the moment kagura opened the door leading to the outside but how could zilla resist? the open expanse of the mountain scape was so tall before her and the sun was bright, there was so much light and shadow everywhere.

so maybe she shouldn't have ran on past kagura. that was probably a little mean, so zilla hopped back over, smiling a little bit. "sorry, kagura." zilla easily took the offered hand. "let's run together, okay?"

flare smiled just a little bit as she leaned against the cavewall, careful not to move her foot too much. twisting and spraining her ankle in the middle of a snowstorm had not been part of flare's own plans for how this mission had been supposed to go, but that was what had happened---and in such a stupid way, too. she could have caused the ice to melt, but she had underestimated its danger. and now, she was paying for this.

still, as things stood right now, she was not too concerned about the snowstorm outside, they had brought plenty of supplies with them and she was fairly good at creating sources of warmth, but what troubled her was that the storm outside made the descent a bad idea, even without her ankle adding a complication.

rubbing her forehead, she pulled her uninjured leg closer to her body, happy to make herself even smaller than she already was to conserve warmth. yes, they had made a fire, but---she hated the way the cold was seeping into her bones. '' and we did tell niall where we were going so i'm not too worried, right now, '' she continued as she reached for her thermos. '' i don't think anyone will have to search your room for information about our route. ''
