CORON IN 3 DAYS

Philippines deserves to be explored by Filipinos as this is our country. Before, I do dream to go out of the country to see what they have, how rich their culture, how great their buildings, streets, facilities and means of transportation without looking at the variety of culture, languages, food, etc which is truly made in the Philippines.

I chose to explore the Coron Island, Palawan than Hongkong. Even there are problems hindering this trip, I make sure no one gonna stop as i really love to make gala, travel to make sense.

The first flight with great experience through Cebu Go (Cebu Pacific) landed safely in Busuanga, Franciso B. Reyes Airport (1030 am). And the journey started here.

DAY 1.

Prepare clothes, rest and eat our Lunch at nearby Karinderya as we don't have idea yet how to go to different places.

The service for our Coron Town trip arrived at exactly 330 pm. The first stop was, the souvenir shop. Second stop, Lualhati ParK and Town Center where you can see the Sleeping Giant which is the real and whole Coron Islands.

Third, the St. Agustine Church and considered 100+ yrs old until such time it was renovated because it was totally damaged by typhoon Yolanda. Fourth, Mt. Tapyas. From the bottom, you will climb a stairs with 721 stairs up, and 721 stairs down. At the top, you can see the whole view of Coron Island and Some part of the town. After this, we went to our Last stop for the day, the Maquinit Hot Spring. Trivia: The Hot Spring is coming from the Tectonic Plates underneath not from usual volcanoes. Very relaxing, and they believed if you go swim there, you will look younger. Lol

After this, we were dropped at the hotel to change clothes and go to nearest but yummiest restaurant, Balinsasayaw. We ordered Seafood Karekare (350 php), Binagoongan Rice (125 php) and Mango Shake (150 php).

DAY 2.

We woke up by 630 am, and prepare ourselves for Breakfast and things to bring for the island hopping. Service arrived at 930 i think, and straight to the location of the Boat and rented a snorkeling equipments worth (150php each) .

1st Island, the Kayangan Lake. This is one of the nicest lake in Coron next to Barakuda Lake. This gonna be my First Swim with 70% fresh water, and 30% salt water.

2nd Island: Buffet time!

3rd Island, Shipwreck where the first snorkeling experience happened and you can see some corals, fishes, and a Japanese Ship sank during World War II.

4th Island, cyc beach, we bought here Mango Ice candy, and eat KamoteQue!

5th Island, Twin Lagoon, its like a secret lagoon as you need to swim under a hill so you can see a lagoon connected to another lagoon.

6th island,  and last was the coral garden. Sadly, we dont have shots with corals, Nemo, and Dory, and other fishes out there because memory card of the Action Camera malfunctioned.

That was a blast, but after we arrived at the hotel, the exploration hasn't yet over.  After 30 minutes of rest, we walked to center of the town to find some food as it was 630 in the evening. We walked and find some good souvenir shops, street foods, burger machines, and restaurants.

DAY 3.

Next and last, preparation for 145 pm flight going back to manila. Bought some pasalubong for family and friends, and eat and eat and eat.

Travelling is fun. You dont need huge amount of money to travel. You just need time, positive thoughts, good physical strength and best travel buddies for you to create memories and immeasurable happiness.

Cocktail and Food Pairing Ft. Don Papa Rum

Personally, I’m not interested to join Cocktail events as I don’t drink alcohol, but nothing to lose if I try right?

When it comes to Food and Drinking Pairings which has been established by culinary practices since 1930 when it was demonstrated by the International Wine and food Society (IWPA) the kind of dining public which a wine heighten the taste of the food and that was very long time ago. 

This kind of practices have been popular not just in other countries but also in Philippines in which Filipinos love to pair wine with their meals that normally became trending.

One of these was introduced by Don Papa Rum. A unique serve inspired by the Apertivo culture with cocktail and food pairing as it is not just for drinking but as well as for meals, top food and drink establishments that was easily adopted by pairing rum-based cocktails with delectable dishes.

By the way, an apertivo entails having a pre-dinner drink with snack to stimulate the palate.

Herewith, Don Papa rum invited the winners of the Don Papa Cocktail Competition in the Netherlands for us to witness live the basic food and cocktail pairings. The winning duo, Chef Marcus Shockley and award winning bartender Andrei Talapanescu prepared a set of cocktail drinks, and dishes that displayed the perfect marriage of food and rum-based cocktails.

  Through Don Papa’s groundbreaking food and cocktail pairings, more rum aficionados will now have a chance to break out their usual food and drink comfort zone and discover new tastes and spirits. BUT ALWAYS OPEN YOUR MIND TO DRINK MODERATELY! 

 The most highlight of the event for me was the games were we did our own mixed drink on the spot. We named our group as "BOYZ" and the drink was "unknown" as we really don't know what was the result. Hahaha! But all in all, i together with my team enjoyed even we lose the chance lol.

UNLEASH: The 2017 iACADEMY Exhibit

Personally, joining the event will let you think on, “Why unleash?” There are a lot of titles, words in dictionary for an event name. With this, I dared myself to have simple yet memorable experience to talk with Ms. Vanessa Tanco, President and CEO of iACADEMY, to ask why Unleash and I was enlightened having conversation with her. The main reason for this because iACADEMY wants to create a space which not only showcases the artworks made by Talented Game Changers, but also encouraging the community to unleash the inner artist and experience the joy of making art by the different interactive pieces.

This is a two-day event that took place at the North Court of the Rockwell Power Plant Mall, March 25 - March 26, 2017. An annual art exhibit that became most awaited testament for the immeasurable hidden talent of the students of iACADEMY, which the highlight are discipline, persistence, and creativity through traditional and digital means which was conceptualized by Dean Ryan Abeledo and the whole Exhibit Team.

Moving around, trying and looking to different artworks makes me feel that I’m too young for all the artworks, and ideas which for me, somewhat different from the traditional way of sports and art.

BE FEARLESS AND HAVE COURAGE TO TAKE RISK! #MAHABAHABANGINUMAN

Life will only change if you become committed with your dreams than your comfort zones. In order to become "Everything is Possible", you just need to open your window, have the courage to take risk, and be fearless until your dreams becomes reality.

Honestly before, I always stay at home doing same things (scrolling on social medias, school stuffs, playing with my little sister, eating, etc) until I realized, I should do more, do something extraordinary, and meet new friends. And this time, I'm making ways to have unforgettable adventures in my life.

It is normal to get tired of doing different things (when I always think - I badly needed 48 hours of sleep), balancing school and the industry I'm walking today. But I strongly believe that if it does not challenge me, it won't change me. When I go out with my friends, meet new people (strangers at first) you will find out that this connotation of being "stranger" can change to "friends". No doubt, its nice to be friend with known commonalities, ideals, experience and hobbies worth to share.

But how you can find these friends if you will just stay at home, doing same things regularly, without some upgrades, if you don't want TO GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE. Yes, it comforts you, but nothing is better to find friends for keeps and treated you like family.

Blogging or being a Public Figure is my kind of getting out of comfort zone. I do not want to miss simple chances, simple conversation with new met friends, as this can be your great way to be who you want to be. #MahabaHabangInuman

BROKEN MIRROR by Coylee Gamboa

Before, i only read textbooks, and articles related to schools, because i know it's a waste of time reading such. But when i have the chance to be part of the Launching last Febuary 14, 2016 at Fully Booked, BGC, I WAS WRONG! "Broken Mirror' made me realize that reading novels is not boring.

The time when I have the opportunity to meet the author, reading one of part of it with her, and other media friends,  is such a great experience that no one can steal from me.

The author of this book is Coylee Gamboa. She has a Master's in Communications from Standford University and Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of the Philippines. She was the financial markets editor of the Asian Wall Street Journal in Hongkong and a news editor of the Business Times of Singapore . Based in Manila today, Coylee is an editor and a book writer who assists people with their life's work and memoirs. She also takes photographs and paints. She collaborates with the ecumenical Marketplace Leadership Foundation and the Pimentel Institute for Local Governance on initiatives for national transformation.

She wrote an inspiring and stunning message for me and had a chance to talked with her one on one during the book signing.

The main character in this book is, Aurora Teo Mei Ling. She was born in 1967 in Northern Philippines, the only offspring of a Chinese immigrant and his young Filipina mistress who died in tragic circumstances. Aurora endured abuse as a child and neglect as a teenager. As a young adult, she plunged into relationships with men who took advantage of her innocence. She married a man from China and tried to be a traditional Chinese wife, enduring untold feelings.

Aurora is under a pen name to hide the real person as this happened in her life. Again, this is a true story.

I really love this book, as this widely opened my eyes towards a secret world of Filipino Chinese Marraige.  In a culture where a woman’s silence in the face of abuse and maltreatment.

Some excerpts that affects me a lot, Chapter 4, "Coming home". In this chapter, Aurora amd his father were happy. Despite the fact all the things happend during "Chapter 2" when aurora let us know how tragic her earlychildhood is. Also the "Chapter 37" entitled road to recovery, the title says it all.

"Broken Mirror" is available at all Fully booked branches. According to the author, there is possibility to realease a second book series of it. So read the first and be on te track! :) Enjoy

DARE TO BE A DIFFERENT- BE A GAME CHANGER: 15TH ANNIVERSARY OF iACADEMY

We go to school in order to learn, to socialize, and to gain experience not to get bullied by classmates or teachers and waste time because you really don't like the practices and environment you revolving in. There are instances that students is loosing their hope and get tired with daily routine in school. Studying, Reciting, Reviewing, Reporting, Doing Assignments and most students is doing all this tasks just to pass the course not to learn and gain experience. (I feel you!) That's a big issue, it's because there is no proper way of encouragement, extra curricular activities and programs for them to take a break with usual routine.

The reinvention of education system is a great way to stop being stagnant and be different. Technology is not always concentrated on the negative effects of it. It always based on who is the user and what is the purpose why you are using such. Surprisingly, iAcademy is exploiting technologies to inspire,to be daring in pursuing  excellence , to push the boundaries of innovative education,and developing traditional way of learning. A True Game Changer!

While moving around the area, i can see different artworks, photographies, and clothes designs by the Multimedia Arts students and graduates, plus, you'll not get bored becasue of some exciting booths and games brought by different partners, film showing and bands playing different serenade songs by Oh, Flamingo!, Reese Lansangan, Jensen and The Flips, Autotelic and Itchyworms.

There were short film and animated film screenings too. The first movie shown was entitled Yolanda, a short narrative that was inspired by true events that happened in Tacloban during Typhoon Yolanda. The film has won awards both local and abroad: Best Student Film Award at 2015 Manhattan International Film Festival, Best Student Film in the International Film Festival in New York and 2016’s NCCA Ani ng Dangal Award for Cinema.

Tether, a short film that challenges the existentialist philosohy behind realistic love stories versus common fairytalelike romances.

One of my favorite motto in life is, "Start making difference", not just in my own life, but also changing the way you face the world. I admire very much the iACADEMY as they help the youth in molding and achieving their dreams, extracting their capacities and finding their hidden talents which a school should do. I hope, this would not be the last anniversary, and yet be unstoppable institution helping the youth to be 'BE A GAME CHANGER! ' Congrats iACADEMY!

TATERS IS GOING DANGEROUSLY CHEESY WITH CHEETOS: THE SNACK FEST

I really love snacks, I also know that I’m not the only one who loves it, most especially snacks that is cheesy and crunchy. Last January 25,2017, I witnessed the launched of Taters and Cheetos and experienced the craziest Snack fest that is going Dangerously at Glorietta Activity Center, Makati.

  The Snack Fest was attended by different personalities, bloggers and media partners. As I enter the area, full of excitement and happiness I felt. The orange color that signifies the Cheetos became the ‘color of the day’ where most of the attendees wore an orange Ootd’s.

The entry of Cheetos in the local market is one of a kind snack fest in Asia because they bring not just one but 5 Cheetofied Snacks in the country through partnership with Pepsi ph. (Crunch 'N Pop, Crunchy Overload, Cheetos Chik-A-Chips, Cheetos Fish-N-Chips, & Cheetos BBQ Crunch Dog)

During the Snack Fest, i tasted the Chik-A-Chips, a mix of chicken fingers, cheetos, tater chips, and comes with cheetos dip for an undeniably cheesy experience. While moving around, there pepsi products. Another snack that i experience is the Cheetos  BBQ Crunch Dog, a flavor explosion in a bun that consists of a beef hotdog topped with Coney Island sauce, BBQ Sauce, Cheetos Dressing, Cheetos Flavored Taters chips, and toppped-off with Cheetos Crunchy. (nakailang balik ako, its 4 times i think hehehe!)

And last, before the end of the snack fest, I tried Cheetos-Fish-N-Chips, a dangerously cheesified version of the signature snack classic it comes with a juicy fish fillets, Cheetos Crunchy, Cheetos Tater Chips, and Cheetos Dip.

Its a must to experience! Its a must  to taste with your friends, barkada, movie date or movie partner, and with your family.

Playing in Plain

Before 2016 ends, different feed and style were getting into my mind which made different transitions on my instagram feed and blog. During brainstorming, i realized that its never too late to show who you are and inspire others in this kind of medium where most people nowadays has an access. We have so many bloggers, but only few knows the real purpose, essence. By the way, i'm wearing Plain white shirt, Creamy pants, White shoes and socks, and a cardigan or jacket i found in closet (unwanted).

JINGLE BELLS! JINGLE BELLS!

They said, the Philippines has the longest, brightest, and happiest celebration of Christmas compared to other countries. I agree, (hahah!) can you imagine, when Ber Months is approaching (September 1) everybody will say, "Parang kaka-pasko palang ah", "Eto nanaman sa gastos", "Oh, Saan tayo sa Pasko?", "May bonus nanaman!" O kaya "Yes! 13th month pay". Without realizing that there are 116 days before it. Some will start counting days. However, most enjoyable part when some of your family members will already brainstorm (making everybody feels more excited) about the theme for the house decorations, family reunion, family getaway, allowances for shopping or even "OOTD/OOTN" for this big event of the year.

One thing that made a Filipino Christmas unique is the different culturally attached things or practices like Simbang Gabe, Parol, Puto Bumbong at Bibingka (cravings!), Aguinaldo or Pamasko, Noche Buena, the Monito-Monita or Exchange Gifts, Christmas Sale Shopping, Movie date with Family or Friends for the Manila Film Festival, and one of the distinctive, something special is Christmas Carolling.

Its a simple way of singing different Christmas Songs, Filipino or English may lead to 5 peso coins, 20-50-100 peso bills (if galante), gifts, and worst, 'patawad' or when you are approaching to their house they will off the lights or you'll face the angry barking dogs (So rude right?) but sometimes im doing it also (hehehe!)

Christmas caroling is just one indication that christmas is near. However, from time to time, Filipino unique practices are slowly forgotten and may vanish  in the Christmas Celebration that a Filipino like me should be proud of. Maybe, there are hundreds of innovations, ways to celebrate, and team parks to experience that keep us away from all of these. That's why, i tried it once again with friends. Definitely its a throwback with Filipino songs. So happy, no joke!

I have been searching for a clothing brand that will uproot who I am in terms of Fashion and Style.
