Just some food for thought!! I do love my G-shade but I don't love someone taking advantage of peoples trust. Nothing wrong with educating yourself and coming to your own conclusions and then deciding from there.

COMPUTER SECURITY & GSHADE

Okay tumblr is scaring the shit out of me!! I don't know where this whole narrative of "It's just so people don't tamper with the code!" and "it was so your computer reset if you downloaded from an unapproved source!" is coming from!

This is not the case!!

Someone made a patcher to make GSHADE presets compatible w/ Reshade. One of the Devs decided they wanted to go on a total power trip and made it so if you downloaded unofficial presets such as the presets you can find on tumblr that were originally made for Reshade the patcher to make your gshade stuff compatiable with reshade, your PC would restart!

This is NOT NORMAL OR ACCEPTABLE.

When you install GSHADE, you are giving it administrative privileges to INSTALL. Instead it's using these privileges to gain access to your KERNAL and IMPORTANT directories to shut EVERYTHING down when it finds the patcher or presets made by the patcher. All because the Dev was attempting to keep people from making a fork (patcher) of another fork (Gshade) of a program that they do not own (RESHADE).

In the face of all of this, the dev has proven that they have the ability to do the same or WORSE if they decide to do so (aka if someone else pisses them off). Please do not disregard the safety of your PC and the data on it simply because a program can take pretty pictures of your game. If you want to keep using Gshade, that's on you but DO NOT try to make this seem like it's not as bad as it actually is!

This is the Dev addressing NoNite in regards to his program. Again, admitting that this code was directed at them and was meant to be "a lesson". Then proceeding to say that it would be Nite's fault for allowing people to download their patcher if the dev decided to do something EVEN WORSE.

I thought I would add that I just downloaded a mod yesterday by MizoreYukii called "No Fade Everything." They also have one just for Sims and objects but you can use both at the same time. :)

Hi Rava! Hope you're doing well! I have a quick question. It drives me mad that trees in the game, when zoomed in, disappear and don't come back unless you zoom out. That & the lit curtains that came with HSY & other things, I'm sure there's more than I can think of. I'm fine with it in live mode but when it comes to pictures is where it really annoys me. Is it possible to make it so those things reappear in screenshots (using the camera button/"C" shortcut)? I write a lot in the game so I take a ton of screenies. I'd love to have flowering trees framing the scene in some of my proposal/romantic screenies but I have to be so far away from the scene for them to appear & it's so frustrating. Maybe this already exists somewhere & I'm just unaware. Thank you for any input you may have!

i didnt know of a good way to do this without editing each tree object so i asked twistedmexi and here is what he said:

If they start the cinematic camera away from those objects they should be able to get closer without them disappearing

Mod Conflicts

Hey Yall, while downloading Aramiteus's update to their "High School more classmates" mod, they suggested reading a post on SimplifiedModding.tumblr on how to create an overrides folder. I found it interesting as to the "why" you would create one and it helped me to better understand a little bit of the coding, etc. Just thought I would share in case anyone else is clueless on modding, etc. LOL

Take a Dance On Me - No Autonomous Dancing

Add this to your build to prevent autonomous dancing within a 5 tile radius of the sign placement! You can still have your sim dance by instructing them to do so manually.

Stereos use what is called a broadcaster which essentially makes sims within a certain area have an extreme desire to dance. I made this sign to have an effect on the same area that stereos do so you can place this in the same spot as any stereo/music source to prevent sims from autonomously breaking out into dance.

Here are all the deets:

Sign prevents all sims from autonomously dancing within a 5 tile radius

The green footprint you see while placing it shows the area it will effect

You can still manually instruct sims to dance

Place in build/buy mode, hidden in live mode

Built to not cause any routing issues with sims

Base game compatible

Out now for patrons, public on October 17th!

RESHADE

I thought I would post this page for anyone looking for the different versions of Reshade. I had a horrible time trying to locate it through GitHub. I kept getting error pages, etc. I'm sure it was a temp problem (at least I hope so) but I thought this could make someone else's life so much easier! This link is from Misslollypopsims tumblr page and that is what I'm going to include a link to. Just scroll through to under the pictures and she has a link to all the previous versions of reshade. Her preset, Vibrance, is also gorgeous, so I'd grab that too!!

Cool Pregnancy mod!

Here is a link to a site I just found. It has some amazing pregnancy, infant, toddler, parenting, etc. moodlets and interactions. It's not new as some of the posts I read were from 2020 but I had never heard of it before. Not sure about conflicts with other pregnancy mods but it doesn't list any that I saw. It seems very well thought out and adds a lot of interactions for good gameplay. We all know, or most know, about Pandasama's wonderful pregnancy mods and Lumpinou's mods and I thought this was another good one to add!!

Someone, anyone...please tell me I'm not the only one who uses S4TI to GET RID of CC and find bad cc ... then google it...then go to locate it...just to fall down 15 rabbit holes, downloading more CC as I go along, only to find that 2 hours have passed and I'm another gigabyte heavier with new CC and still haven't fixed the original file I was looking for! Sheesh!
