i love how kelsey really pointed out how she’d been used and that fucking hurts, her feelings were played with for the sake of whatever game grace and daniel were playing and that wasn’t fair

i really wish of all the lines from og they would have kept vilde asking noora “all those times you said william wasn’t good enough for me, do you think he’s good enough for you?” because i feeling like moreso than any other noora grace really is questioning just that, is daniel someone who’s good for her? it comes back to her asking him if he’d hit her and how that clearly ties to something from her past, and she really really don’t know if he is right now, and i think seeing that particular thing stated and then actually addressed would of been really good for their story

Shelby was fcking amazing in this and it was brilliant acting work! S2 has really stepped tf up!

I said from day one that I don’t blame kelsey for being passive aggressive or mad at Grace because at the end of the day I think it hurt more that her FRIEND didn’t tell her the truth rather then Daniel not liking her.

Idk maybe it’s because I’ve seen the original and I’ve witnessed how sad the vilde character family life is (which ofc is no excuse for her actions) but I just get her on a more deeper level.

But I liked this scene because it was just Kelsey speaking it from her Pov and hers alone x really made me feel for her as a character (again) and I’m so happy she was able to get it off her chest.

also, in the og Vilde reacted way too nicely to Noora and William being together. Skam Austin found a way to not drag on the drama but also portray Kelsey’s feelings realistically; she is glad Grace told her the truth but will need time to forgive her fully.

Kelsey really has been, in many ways, the Vilde most underestimated by her Noora.

But god, she still loves her friend so much, even though she hurts. And she didn’t just paste a smile over her hurt, she knew Grace was sorry and that she wanted to make things all better, and Kelsey isn’t ready to make up and move on all the way. She just simply and honestly said, “It’s just gonna take time.” She acknowledged Grace’s regret without invalidating her own pain. As much of a hyperactive space cadet as she can be, it’s nice to get those glimpses of grounded self-awareness she sometimes displays.

And she’s very much going to be there for Grace when the real shit starts, like every other Vilde. She might be the next ferociously protective Vilde after Daphné, the potential is extremely there.

Kudos to Shelby for absolutely killing that monologue. God, she’s truly stepped up her game this season.

kelsey may have come off as obsessive, annoying, etc. but this is a girl who thought a boy liked her. this boy gave her attention, messaged her, showed interest in her and she fell for it. not only did she let her hope build up, she felt wanted….but she wasn’t.. and there’s soooo much emphasis on validation from boys, especially at that age. we don’t feel worthy of love, or loving ourselves for that matter, if a boy doesn’t love us, want us, seek us. my heart hurts for Kelsey and that scene was amazing.

I really enjoyed the newest Skam Aus clip. the actress who plays Kelsey did so well.

shelby is amazing!! i’ve really been loving her portrayal these last couple episodes! i think she’s always does a great job but when her material is just “judgy annoying girl who talks nonsense” it’s hard to get into it lol, she’s so great to watch in her more emotional scenes and the raw emotion that’s been coming from kelsey these last like 2 weeks has been peak 👌👌

okay sorry they were comic relief and as revealed in the final clip of s4, vilde found a lot of strength and comfort theough magnus (when chris felt like she was lacking as a friend, vilde told her that she wasnt her sole source of support, and the shot of magnus showed him caring about her and her well being) so maybe, just maybe, that relationship wasn’t a bad thing

Kinda random, but have y'all thought about that now that the “boy squad” is just the gay squad + Marlon, there’s yet to be a Magnus character that Kelsey could get together with? Might be wishful thinking and it is a little early to say, but imagine NOT having to watch that weird ass relationship form yet again. Thank the gods I it doesn’t happen!!

strap in, i got a lot to say.

some of yall bout to be real mad at me, but it must be said...

1. APPRECIATE NICE THINGS. yall really out here sleeping on skam austin because its american cause yall are europhiles but you didnt hear it from me. (europhiles: a person who admires or prefers europe or european cultures) sorry that you’re an ~aRtSy~ kid and hated typical american archetypes like football and dance teams etc. but please appreciate the shows dedication to portraying its interpretation of those archetypes and real, honest american teenage life.

2. LET’S TALK ABOUT SEASON ONE. megan’s character. was. DEPRESSED. i personally related to it so hard because when i fall into my depressive episodes, i become so empty and lifeless and turned away from the world. megan is in a place where she feels alone and overwhelmed and feels like the person she risked everything for is slipping from her grasp. so next time you wanna call season one “dry” “trash” or “boring,” think about that. maybe, just maybe then, it wasn’t for you.

3. ANOTHER THING ABOUT SEASON ONE. julie andem, the goddess that she is, did not grow up in america. she was trying so so hard to create a storyline that would be relatable to US !!! not her !!! can you imagine how exhausting that must be to take the same storyline you’ve been working with for almost FOUR YEARS and trying to set it in such a foreign environment, and capture the same little nuances and viewpoints that make skam skam ???? i can almost guaruntee you that the rumors are true and julie is not directing this season. WHICH IS NOT A BAD THING. lets all appreciate EVERYTHING she has done for us and allow her to move on to bigger and better things if they are true.

4. LETS TALK ABOUT THE CHARACTERS. they are REMAKES. and they are cast based on a very intense process and multiple rounds of auditions and those who are choosing KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. just because you think, “oh why isnt eve butch enough???” or “why is kelsey so annoying???” or “why is megan so blah???” THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE PERFECT. THEY ARE REAL PEOPLE AND ARE PLAYING THE ROLES OF REAL PEOPLE. they are supposed to be relatable and irritating and dull and imperfect because THATS WHAT TEENAGERS ARE. look back on who you were or are in high school, and i gauruntee you will find you are more alike the characters than you want to admit.

5. LETS TALK ABOUT NITPICKING. some of yall REALLY out here coming through every. single. damn. detail. s t r e t c h i n g to find something to be mad about. i’m sorry i sound like a broken record but HIGH SCHOOLERS ARE NOT PERFECT. SHAY IS NOT PERFECT. GRACE IS NOT PERFECT. JO IS NOT PERFECT. ZOYA IS NOT PERFECT. KELSEY IS NOT PERFECT. MEGAN IS NOT PERFECT. appreciate them for who they are and the growth that their stories will tell. because THATS what skam is ABOUT. a queer kid coming to terms with their identity internally and externally. a girl who is attracted to an asshole. a girl trying to find her identity on her own, outside of her relationships with others. a football playing dick trying to make sense of a preconceived idea laid out for him to be. THEY ARE GOING TO MAKE MISTAKES AND ARE GOING TO BE FLAWED AND ARE GOING TO MAKE YOU MAD. THATS THE BEAUTY OF THE SHOW.

In Conclusion

give skam austin a CHANCE. view it as what it is and appreciate it for what it’s trying to portray. skam austin has one of the most diverse casts and the most genuine feeling group of high schoolers (in my opinion) and the way yall focus on every SINGLE negative you find is childish and boring.
