Itto had always had a thing for you. It was so obvious. From the time he met you in your junior year in high school, all the way to now. In college. You were studying to become an anesthesiologist, while he was (attempting to) study to become a teacher (elementary school specifically.) You didn’t get to see each other, but you’d talk into the late hours of the night. He knew that he was in love with you, at least when his best friends, Kuki and Heizou, pointed it out to him. Of course, it wouldn’t have been a problem if someone wasn’t in his way.
Your best friend, Echo. They had always been by your side, ever since diapers. Itto didn’t like Echo, but also didn’t not like Echo. I mean, Echo was perfect for you in every way. They were smart, kind, caring, and generally, an amazing person, while he was dumb and scary (according to other people.) Who wouldn’t love Echo? Of course, this filled Itto with jealousy. He wanted to be the one that was by your side all the time. He wanted to be close to you all the time. He didn’t want Echo to take you away.
As his thoughts raced, they led from one thing to another, with him coming to your dorm and pounding on your door in the middle of the night. You opened the door, groggy from the sudden awakening.
“Itto… What are you doing here? It’s,” You checked the time. “It’s 2 AM.”
“(Y/n)! I have something to tell you!” Itto claimed.
You stared at him, both curiously and anxiously. “Come inside first. It’s freezing in the corridor.”
He walked into your dorm. “Okay, (Y/n), I have something important to tell you.”
“What is it?” You yawned.
“Okay… So you know how in high school we met and I was like really red all the time and you were always like ‘Are you sick?’ and I was like ‘Oh no, I’m fine!’ yeah?”
“Uh, yeah…”

“We’re just friends. I mean yeah, they confessed to me, but I see them as a sibling. Why?”You were perplexed at this point.
